Objective liver fibrosis is an important predictor of mortality in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Peripheral artery disease(PAD)and liver fibrosis share many common metabolic *** aimed to explore the association between PAD and risk of fibrosis deterioration in NAFLD *** The study recruited 1,610 NAFLD patients aged≥40 years from a well-defined community at baseline in 2010 and followed up between August 2014 and May *** deterioration was defined as the NAFLD fibrosis score(NFS)status increased to a higher category at the follow-up *** was defined as an ankle-brachial index of*** During an average of 4.3 years’follow-up,618 patients progressed to a higher NFS *** was associated with 92%increased risk of fibrosis deterioration[multivariable-adjusted odds ratio(OR):1.92,95%confidence interval(CI):1.24,2.98].When stratified by baseline NFS status,the OR for progression from low to intermediate or high NFS was 1.74(95%CI:1.02,3.00),and progression from intermediate to high NFS was 2.24(95%CI:1.05,4.80).There was a significant interaction between PAD and insulin resistance(IR)on fibrosis deterioration(P for interaction=0.03).As compared with non-PAD and non-IR,the coexistence of PAD and IR was associated with a 3.85-fold(95%CI:2.06,7.18)increased risk of fibrosis *** PAD is associated with an increased risk of fibrosis deterioration in NAFLD patients,especially in those with *** coexistence of PAD and IR may impose an interactive effect on the risk of fibrosis deterioration.

Research of artificial synapses is increasing in popularity with the development of bioelectronics and the appearance of wearable *** the high-temperature treatment process of inorganic materials is not compatible with flexible substrates,organic ferroelectric materials that are easier to process have emerged as *** organic synaptic device based on P(VDF-TrFE)was prepared in this *** device showed reliable P/E endurance over 104 cycles and a data storage retention capability at 80℃ over 104 ***,it possessed excellent synaptic functions,including short-term/long-term synaptic plasticity and spike-timing-dependent *** addition,the ferroelectric performance of the device remained stable even under bending(7 mm bending radius)or after 500 bending *** work shows that low-temperature processed organic ferroelectric materials can provide new ideas for the future development of wearable electronics and flexible artificial synapses.

Objective To determine the hepatitis B immunoprophylactic failure rate in infants born to hepatitis B virus （HBV） infected mothers and to characterize HBV genes. Methods HBV-serological testing was conducted for pregnant women and infants. The complete genomes of 30 HBV isolates were sequenced, and genetic characteristics were analyzed using MEGA 5 software. Results The immunoprophylactic failure rate for infants who had completed the scheduled hepatitis B vaccination program was 5.76% （32/556）. High sequence homology （99.8%-100%） was observed in 8 of the 10 mother-infant pairs. We identified 19 subgenotype C2 strains, 9 subgenotype B2 strains, and 2 subgenotype Cl strains. Three serotypes were detected： adr （19/30）, adw （9/30）, and ayw （2/30）. The frequency of amino acid mutation of the ＇a＇ determinant region was 16.67% （5/30）, including that of Q129H, F134Y,S136Y, and G145E. We detected 67 amino acid mutations in the basal core promoter, precore, and core regions of the genome. Conclusion The immunoprophylactic failure rate in infants born to HBV-infected mothers is low in the regions of China examined during this study. Moreover, HBV mutation in the ＇a＇ determinant region could not account for immunoprophylactic failure for all infants.

Quantum machine learning(QML)is a rapidly rising research eld that incorporates ideas from quantum computing and machine learning to develop emerging tools for scientic research and improving data *** to efciently control or manipulate the quantum system is a fundamental and vexing problem in quantum *** can be described as learning or approximating a unitary *** the success of the hybrid-based quantum machine learning model proposed in recent years,we investigate to apply the techniques from QML to tackle this *** on the Choi–Jamiołkowski isomorphism in quantum computing,we transfer the original problem of learning a unitary operator to a min–max optimization problem which can also be viewed as a quantum generative adversarial ***,we select the spectral norm between the target and generated unitary operators as the regularization term in the loss *** by the hybrid quantum-classical framework widely used in quantum machine learning,we employ the variational quantum circuit and gradient descent based optimizers to solve the min-max optimization *** our numerical experiments,the results imply that our proposed method can successfully approximate the desired unitary operator and dramatically reduce the number of quantum gates of the traditional *** average delity between the states that are produced by applying target and generated unitary on random input states is around 0.997.

lithium-sulfur(li-S)batteries have been regarded as promising energy-storage systems,due to their high theoretical capacity and energy ***,the carbonaceous sulfur hosts suffer from weak binding force between the hosts and polysulfides,restricting the cyclic stability of sulfur ***,the presence of binder and conductive agent in the traditional electrode reduces its energy *** study demonstrates that titanium nitride(TiN)nanorod array on carbon cloth(CC)is employed as a flexible host for highly stable li-S batteries via solvothermal synthesis-nitridation *** the one hand,the flexible integrated network composed of three-dimensional TiN nanorod array and CC significantly improves the conductivity,increases the electron transport and electrolyte penetration of *** the other hand,the 3D structure of TiN/CC and the enhanced polarity of TiN effectively strengthen the physical and chemical double adsorption for *** a result,the combination of TiN nanorod array and CC synergistic ally promotes sulfur utilization and electrochemical performances of S@TiN/CC cathode.A discharge capacity of1015.2 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.5C after 250 cycles and 604.1mAh·g^(-1)at 3C after 250 cycles is *** a larger current density of 5C,the resulting S@TiN/CC cathode maintains a high discharge capacity of 666.6 mAh·g^(-1)and the Coulombic efficiency of about 100%.

AIM： To study whether severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus （SARS-CoV） could be excreted from digestive system.METHODS： Cell culture and semi-nested RT-PCR were used to detect SARS-CoV and its RNA from 21 stool and urine samples, and a kind of electropositive filter media particles was used to concentrate the virus in 10 sewage samples from two hospitals receiving SAILS patients in Beijing in China. RESULTS： It was demonstrated that there was no live SARS-CoV in all samples collected, but the RNA of SARS-CoV could be detected in seven stool samples from SARS patients with any one of the symptoms of fever, malaise, cough, or dyspnea, in 10 sewage samples before disinfection and 3 samples after disinfection from the two hospitals. The RNA could not be detected in urine and stool samples from patients recovered from SARS.CONCLUSION： Nucleic acid of SARS-CoV can be excreted through the stool of patients into sewage system, and the possibility of SARS-CoV transmitting through digestive system cannot be excluded.
