Improved photocatalytic performance of acetaldehyde degradation via crystal plane regulation on truncated octahedral CeO_(2)

In this study,the truncated octahedral CeO_(2)(CeO_(2)-to)with special morphology was prepared by the solvothermal method with oleic acid(OA)and oleamine(OM)as the morphology-directing ***-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM)results show that CeO_(2)-to exposes composite{100}and{111}facets,while CeO_(2)cubic(CeO_(2)-c)and CeO_(2)octahedral(CeO_(2)-o)only expose single crystal facets of{100}plane and{111}plane,***,this CeO_(2)-to photocatalyst exhibits remarkable photooxidation performance of gaseous acetaldehyde(CH_(3)CHO)degradation,in which CO_(2)generation value reaches 1.78 and 7.97-times greater than that of CeO_(2)-c and CeO_(2)-o,*** addition,the active species trapping experiment signifies that superoxide(·O_(2)^(-))and holes(h^(+))are the main reactive substances during the CH_(3)CHO degradation process,and the electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)spectra indicates that the former is the major ***,the electron transfer mechanism between CeO_(2)-to{100}and{111}facets and the surface oxygen adsorption ability are revealed via density functional theory(DFT)*** is also confirmed that{100}facets are more conducive to the absorption of acetaldehyde than{111}***,a reasonable mechanism for improved photocatalytic CH_(3)CHO degradation on CeO_(2)-to is proposed based on relevant experiments and DFT *** study demonstrates that the systematic development of surface homojunction structured photocatalysts can efficiently increase the degradation activity for volatile organic compounds(VOCs).It also offers additional direction for optimizing the photocatalytic activity of other ceriumbased photocatalysts.

●AIM:To determine the teaching effects of a real-time three dimensional(3D)visualization system in the operating room for early-stage phacoemulsification training.●METHODS:A total of 10 ophthalmology residents of the first-year postgraduate were *** the residents were novices to cataract ***-time cataract surgical observations were performed using a custom-built 3D visualization *** training lasted 4wk(32h)in all.A modified International Council of Ophthalmology’s Ophthalmology Surgical Competency Assessment Rubric(ICO-OSCAR)containing 4 specific steps of cataract surgery was *** self-assessment(self)and expert-assessment(expert)were performed through the microsurgical attempts in the wet lab for each participant.●RESULTS:Compared with pre-training assessments(self 3.2±0.8,expert 2.5±0.6),the overall mean scores of posttraining(self 5.2±0.4,expert 4.7±0.6)were significantly improved after real-time observation training of 3D visualization system(Psignificantly improved both self and expert assessment after training(PsiON:The 3D observation training provides novice ophthalmic residents with a better understanding of intraocular microsurgical *** is a useful tool to improve teaching efficiency of surgical education.

DNA-encoded chemical library(DEL)links the power of amplifiable genetics and the nonself-replicating chemical phenotypes,generating a diverse chemical *** analogy with the biological world,the DEL world can evolve by using a chemical central dogma,wherein DNA replicates using the PCR reactions to amplify the genetic codes,DNA sequencing transcripts the genetic information,and DNA-compatible synthesis translates into chemical ***,DNA-compatible synthesis is the key to expanding the DEL chemical ***,the evolution-driven selection system pushes the chemicals to evolve under the selective pressure,i.e.,desired selection *** this perspective,we summarized recent advances in expanding DEL synthetic toolbox and panning strategies,which will shed light on the drug discovery harnessing in vitro evolution of chemicals via DEL.

To the Editor:Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA)has replaced other high-risk invasive methods and has become the primary method of tissue collection around the gastrointestinal tract.^([1])To further improve the effectiveness and safety of EUS-FNA,pathologists may perform rapid on-site cytology evaluation(ROSE),but this process requires the presence of *** on-site evaluation(MOSE)has gained attention as it resolve the shortage of pathologist resources.^([2])Endoscopists can inspect the tissue core in real time and assess the adequacy of the punctured *** this study,we conducted a single-center and single-arm exploratory study to explore the value of MOSE in assessing specimen quality during magnifier-based EUS-FNA and to confirm the cut-off length of visible tissue core(VTC)for EUS-FNA to help endosonographers independently predict the adequacy of punctured *** VTC was defined as a white or incarnadine tissue core obtained from focal lesions with a relatively complete histological structure.

Role of texture before rolling: a research based on texture and magnetic properties of 4.5 wt.% si non-oriented electrical steel

The evolution of microstructure,texture,and magnetic properties with random texture,near-copper texture,weak near-cube texture,and strong λ fiber(/ND(normal direction))before rolling of non-oriented electrical steel was *** recrystallized hot bands with different textures but similar grain sizes were prepared by pre-annealing at low-temperature and high-temperature normalization *** was observed that the final annealed products exhibited similar recrystallized *** contrast,the final annealed product with more 2 fiber before rolling exhibited a stronger cube *** the fiber before rolling becoming stronger,the proportion of(111)deformed matrices became larger,which could be observed in the early recrystallization *** overwhelmingly dominant 2 orientation nuclei are formed in the(111)deformed matrix and become the dominant ***,the best magnetic properties are obtained in the products with strong 2 fiber before rolling,corresponding to the strong cube texture and low anisotropyparameter.

The reactor coolant pump(RCP)rotor seizure accident is defined as a short-time seizure of the RCP *** event typically leads to an abrupt flow decrease in the corresponding loop and an ensuing reactor and turbine *** significant reduction of core coolant flow while the reactor is being operated at full load can have very negative *** potentially dangerous event is typically characterized by a complex transient behavior in terms of flow conditions and energy transformation,which need to be analyzed and *** study constructed transient flow and rotational speed mathematical models under various degrees of rotor seizure using the test data collected from a dedicated transient rotor seizure test ***,bidirectional fluid-solid coupling simulations were conducted to investigate the flow evolution *** is found that the influence of the impeller structure size and transient braking acceleration on the unsteady head(Hu)is dominant in rotor seizure accident ***,the present results also show that the rotational acceleration additional head(Hu1)is much higher than the instantaneous head(Hu2).

Enhancing reversible hydrogen storage performance of 2LiBH4–MgH2 via in-situ building heterogeneous nucleation sites

2LiBH4-MgH2composite is one of the most attractive reactive hydride composites with a theoretic hydrogen capacity of 10.8 wt%.However,the large nucleation restriction of MgB2during the second step of dehydrogenation results in sluggish hydrogen storage kinetics and high operating temperature,which hinders its practical application as on-board hydrogen storage ***,Al3Ti doped Al nanoparticles （AT NPs） are prepared by a facile chemical reduction reaction to improve the hydrogen storage performance of *** the initial H2desorption process,MgAlB4and TiB2that have identical crystal structure and low d-value mismatch with MgB2resulting from the reaction between AT NPs and 2LiBH4-MgH2composite serve as effective nucleation sites for the formation of *** a result,the apparent activation energy of the two-step H2desorption of AT NPs doped 2LiBH4-MgH2composite are notably decreased to （110.0±5.9） and（119.6±1.4） kJ·mol-1,which is 55.5 and 33.5 kJ·mol-1lower than that of the undoped *** importantly,a reversible hydrogen storage capacity of 9.2 wt%after 10cycles of H2desorption and adsorption could be achieved,corresponding to a capacity retention rate of 99%.The building of reactive bimetallic catalyst towards in situ formation of heterogeneous nucleation sites provides a new strategy for improving the hydrogen storage performance of reactive hydride composites.

Both host and diet shape bacterial communities of predatory mites

Microbial communities,derived from food,ambient,and inner,can affect host ecological adaption and *** with most phytophagous arthropods,predators may have more opportunities to develop specific microbiota depending on the level of prey *** explore how diet sources affect host microbial communities and vary across predator species,we considered 3 types of predators from Phytoseiidae(Acari:Mesostigmata):polyphagous(Amblyseius orientalis Ehara,Neoseiulus barkeri Hughes,and Amblyseius swirski Athias-Henrio),oligophagous(Neoseiulus californicus McGregor),and monophagous(Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias-Henriot)predatory *** polyphagous species were fed on 2 types of diets,natural prey and alternative *** using 16S rRNA sequencing,we found that diet was the main source of microbiota in predatory mites,while there was no clear pattern affected by prey *** 3 polyphagous predators,host species had a larger impact than prey on microbial *** *** or *** which showed consistency in their microbiota,prey switching significantly affectedβ-diversity of bacterial composition in ***,with 56%of the microbial *** short,our results confirmed the substantial influence of diet on host microbial construction in predatory species,and highlighted species differences in shaping the microbiota which are not necessarily related to prey specialization.
