The major impediment to the additional industrialization of water splitting is the high cost of the co-catalyst made of noble metals and the sacrificial reagent. A binary photocatalytic system, consisting of B-doped g-C3N4nanosheets(Cu20@BCN-X) and atomically accurate copper clusters, is designed in this study. The copper clusters serve as co-catalysts for H2evolution and exhibit Pt-like activity, whereas the nanosheets serve as carriers and semiconductor components for O2evolution. Such binary system, created using simple techniques, demonstrates hydrogen bonding interactions that promote synergistic effects and efficient binding and charge transfer across the interface between the two components. Band position manipulation of carbon nitride nanosheets demonstrates a Z-scheme charge transfer mechanism between the nanosheets and copper clusters. This photocatalytic system can accomplish the photocatalytic overall water splitting process(259.9 μmol g-1h-1of H2and 129.4 μmol g-1h-1of O2) without using sacrificial agents or noble metal co-catalysts. This work lays the foundation for the design of overall water splitting catalysts by precisely manipulating the energy levels, and it also paves the way for commercialized photocatalytic catalysts that do not require noble metals or sacrificial chemicals.

Piezo-photocatalysis could coalesce the advantages of mechanical vibration and solar energy perfectly to achieve high-efficiency catalytic activity. Herein,the quintessential piezoelectric material CdS nanowires with different aspect ratios are precisely constructed and applied for piezo-photocatalytic reduction of U（Ⅵ） for the first time. The ultrasonic （60 kHz, 100 W） induces piezoelectric potential to generate a 0.57 eV A-1electric field, which is added to the direction of CdS （010） as a driving force to efficiently separate photogenerated charges. The alliance between piezoelectric effect and photocatalytic activity endows CdS NW-3 with the fastest piezophotocatalytic rate under ultrasonic vibration and 5 W LED irradiation, and the relevant rate constant (0.042 min-1) is about 12 and 53.8 times than that of LED and ultrasonication. More importantly, 93.74%of U（Ⅵ） could be removed from natural uranium mine wastewater. Therefore, this piezophotocatalysis system that reduces U（Ⅵ） to easily separable （UO2）O2·2H2O（s） provides valuable input for disposal applications of radioactive wastewater and broadens the horizons of nuclear energy utilization toward the advancement of carbon neutrality.

Objective Viral encephalitis is an infectious disease severely affecting human *** is caused by a wide variety of viral pathogens,including herpes viruses,flaviviruses,enteroviruses,and other *** laboratory diagnosis of viral encephalitis is a worldwide ***,high-throughput sequencing technology has provided new tools for diagnosing central nervous system ***,In this study,we established a multipathogen detection platform for viral encephalitis based on amplicon *** We designed nine pairs of specific polymerase chain reaction(PCR)primers for the 12 viruses by reviewing the relevant *** detection ability of the primers was verified by software simulation and the detection of known positive *** sequencing was used to validate the samples,and consistency was compared with Sanger *** The results showed that the target sequences of various pathogens were obtained at a coverage depth level greater than 20×,and the sequence lengths were consistent with the sizes of the predicted *** sequences were verified using the National Center for Biotechnology Information BLAST,and all results were consistent with the results of Sanger *** Amplicon-based high-throughput sequencing technology is feasible as a supplementary method for the pathogenic detection of viral *** is also a useful tool for the high-volume screening of clinical samples.

Toughening the petroleum-based epoxy resin blends with bio-based modifiers without compromising their modulus,mechanical strength,and other properties is still a big challenge in view of the *** this study,a bio-based liquid crystal epoxy resin(THMT-E P)with an s-triazine ring structure was utilized to modify a petroleum-based bisphenol A epoxy resin(E51)with 4,4'-diaminodiphenylsulfone(DDS)as a curing agent,and the blended systems were evaluated for their thermal stability,mechanical properties,and flame *** results showed that the impact strength of the blended system initially increased and then decreased with the increase in THMT-EP content,and it reached the a maximum value of 26.5 kJ/m^(2)when the THMT-EP content was 5%,which was 31.2%higher than that of E51/***,the flexural strength,modulus,and glass transition tem perature of the blended system were all simultaneously improved with the addition of *** the same time,the addition of THMT-EP enhanced the flame retardancy of the system by increasing the char yield at 700℃and decreasing the peak heat release rate and total heat release *** work paves the way for a more sustainable improvement in the comprehensive performance of epoxy resin.

Building surface cool materials are novel materials that can reduce urban heat island intensity and decrease building energy *** study investigated the impact of radiative properties of materials,façade orientation,and morphological parameters on energy consumption in six typical residential neighborhoods in Nanjing,*** neighborhood energy consumption of 16 application schemes considering the façade orientation factor is compared to determine the best energy-saving *** and annual energy-saving rates,savings in electricity costs,and the price ceiling for materials per unit area are *** results show that for low-rise buildings,using cool materials only on the roof can reduce the annual energy consumption by 1%.When cool or super cool materials are also used on the building façade,the annual energy saving rate can be up to 3.4%and 4.3%,*** cool materials on the south façade of buildings is not recommended due to significant heat loss in *** savings in electricity costs and the price ceiling for materials per unit area,the price of cool and super cool materials should be less than 3.0 and 3.7 RMB/m2,respectively,assuming a lifespan of eight years in Nanjing.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is the most common chronic liver disease with an estimated worldwide prevalence of 32.4%.1 The multisystem condition is related to an increased risk of liver-related and cardiovascular extrahepatic diseases.2 Smoking is the leading preventable risk factor for premature disability and *** NAFLD and smoking are both associated with the development of metabolic features,there has been increasing interest in testing the relationship between smoking and *** causal relevance of smoking to NAFLD incidence have been implicated in crosssectional and prospective cohort studies.3,4 However,previous studies mainly focused on the effect of active smoking,discussion on the influence of passive smoking on NAFLD will facilitate illustrating the association between smoking and *** conducted a national two-center cross-section study of active,passive smoking and NAFLD risk in Chinese and European *** design allowed us to(1)test for associations between active,passive smoking and NAFLD risk by sex and consolidate evidence for causality by estimating dose-response relationship,(2)identify mediated factors,and(3)resolve their possible interaction with smoking.
