Investigation of gravity influence on EOR and CO_(2) geological storage based on pore-scale simulation

Gravity assistance is a critical factor influencing CO_(2)-Oil mixing and miscible flow during EOR and CO_(2)geological *** on the Navier-Stokes equation,component mass conservation equation,and fluid property-composition relationship,a mathematical model for pore-scale CO_(2) injection in oilsaturated porous media was developed in this *** model can reflect the effects of gravity assistance,component diffusion,fluid density variation,and velocity change on EOR and CO_(2) *** nonhomogeneous porous media,the gravity influence and large density difference help to minimize the velocity difference between the main flow path and the surrounding area,thus improving the oil recovery and CO_(2) *** CO_(2) injection angles and oil-CO_(2) density differences can increase the oil recovery by 22.6% and 4.2%,respectively,and increase CO_(2) storage by 37.9% and 4.7%,*** diffusion facilitates the transportation of the oil components from the low-velocity region to the main flow path,thereby reducing the oil/CO_(2) concentration difference within the porous *** diffusion can increase oil recovery and CO_(2) storage by 5.7% and 6.9%,*** addition,combined with the component diffusion,a low CO_(2) injection rate creates a more uniform spatial distribution of the oil/CO_(2) component,resulting in increases of 9.5% oil recovery and 15.7% CO_(2) storage,*** study provides theoretical support for improving the geological CO_(2) storage and EOR processes.

The electrolyte directly contacts the essential parts of a lithium-ion battery,and as a result,the electrochemical properties of the electrolyte have a significant impact on the voltage platform,charge discharge capacity,energy density,service life,and rate discharge *** raising the voltage at the charge/discharge plateau,the energy density of the battery is ***,this causes transition metal dissolution,irreversible phase changes of the cathode active material,and parasitic electrolyte oxidation *** article presents an overview of these concerns to provide a clear explanation of the issues involved in the development of electrolytes for high-voltage lithium-ion ***,solidstate electrolytes enable various applications and will likely have an impact on the development of batteries with high energy *** is necessary to improve the high-voltage performance of electrolytes by creating solvents with high thermal stabilities and high voltage resistance and additives with superior film forming performance,multifunctional capabilities,and stable lithium *** offer suggestions for the future development of high-energy lithium-ion batteries,we conclude by offering our own opinions and insights on the current development of lithium-ion batteries.

Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by sustained neuroinflammation leading to memory loss and cognitive *** past decade has witnessed tremendous efforts in Alzheimer’s disease research;however,no effective treatment is available to prevent disease *** increasing body of evidence suggests that neuroinflammation plays an important role in Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis,alongside the classical pathological hallmarks such as misfolded and aggregated proteins(e.g.,amyloid-beta and tau).Firstly,this review summarized the clinical and pathological characteristics of Alzheimer’s ***,we outlined key aspects of glial cell-associated inflammation in Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis and provided the latest evidence on the roles of microglia and astrocytes in Alzheimer’s disease ***,we revealed the double-edged nature of inflammatory cytokines and inflammasomes in Alzheimer’s *** addition,the potential therapeutic roles of innate immunity and neuroinflammation for Alzheimer’s disease were also discussed through these *** the final section,the remaining key problems according to the current research status were discussed.

Style-conditioned music generation with Transformer-GANs

Recently,various algorithms have been developed for generating appealing ***,the style control in the generation process has been somewhat *** style refers to the representative and unique appearance presented by a musical work,and it is one of the most salient qualities of *** this paper,we propose an innovative music generation algorithm capable of creating a complete musical composition from scratch based on a specified target style.A style-conditioned linear Transformer and a style-conditioned patch discriminator are introduced in the *** style-conditioned linear Transformer models musical instrument digital interface(MIDI)event sequences and emphasizes the role of style ***,the style-conditioned patch discriminator applies an adversarial learning mechanism with two innovative loss functions to enhance the modeling of music ***,we establish a discriminative metric for the first time,enabling the evaluation of the generated music’s consistency concerning music *** objective and subjective evaluations of our experimental results indicate that our method’s performance with regard to music production is better than the performances encountered in the case of music production with the use of state-of-the-art methods in available public datasets.

Cage-confinement synthesis of MoC nanoclusers as efficient sulfiphilic and lithiophilic regulator for superior li–S batteries

High-energy-density li-S batteries are subjected to serious sulfur deactivation and short cycle lifetime caused by undesirable polysulfide shuttle effect and frantic lithium dendrite *** this work,a controllable cage-confinement strategy to fabricate molybdenum carbide(MoC)nanoclusters as a high-efficient sulfiphilic and lithiophilic regulator to mitigate the formidable issues of li-S batteries is *** sub-2 nm MoC nanoclusters not only guarantee robust chemisorption and fast electrocatalytic conversion of polysulfides to enhance the sulfur electrochemistry,but also homogenize li^(+) flux to suppress the lithium dendrite *** a consequence,the MoC-modified separator endows the batteries with boosted reaction kinetics,promoted sulfur utilization,and improved cycling stability.A reversible capacity of 701 mAh·g^(−1) at a high rate of 5.0C and a small decay rate of 0.076%per cycle at 1.0C over 600 cycles are *** study offers a rational route for design and synthesis of bifunctional nanoclusers with both sulfiphilicity and lithiophilicity for high-performance li-S batteries.

The double-layer NiCr-Cr_(3)C_(2)/Ni-Zn-Al_(2)O_(3) coatings with sufficient corrosion and wear resistance were prepared on low carbon steel *** intermediate layers Ni-Zn-Al_(2)O_(3) were fabricated by using low-pressure cold spray (LPCS) method to improve the salt fog corrosion resistance properties of the supersonic plasma spray (SPS) NiCr-Cr_(3)C_(2) *** friction and wear performance for the double-layer and single-layer NiCr-Cr_(3)C_(2) coatings were carried out by line-contact reciprocating sliding,*** with the coating surface analysis techniques,the effect of the salt fog corrosion on the tribological properties of the double-layer coatings was *** results showed that the double-layer coatings exhibited better wear resistance than that of the single-layer coatings,due to the better corrosion resistance of the intermediate layer;the wear mass losses of the double-layer coatings was reduced by 70%than that of the single layer coatings and the wear mechanism of coatings after salt fog corrosion conditions is mainly corrosion wear.

Study on concentration distribution and detonation characteristics for non-axisymmetric fuel dispersal

The study of non-axisymmetric fuel dispersal and detonation can provide reference for the prevention of industrial cloud explosion accidents and the design of fuel air explosive(FAE).The concentration and detonation fields of 85 kg cylindrical and fan-shaped fuel are investigated by experiments and numerical simulations.A dynamic model of the whole process for fuel dispersal and detonation is *** concentration distribution of fuel is used as the initial condition to calculate the detonation stage,thus solving the initial value problem of detonation *** phase and component changes of fuel cloud at different locations are *** fuel cloud is divided into directions of 0°,90°,135°and 180°.The results show that the maximum cloud radius is 20.94 m in 135°and the minimum is 12.04 m in 0°.The diameter of the detonation fireball is 53.6 m,and the peak temperature is 3455 *** highest peak overpressure is 3.44 MPa in 0°and the lowest is 2.97 MPa in 135°.The proportion of liquid phase in 0°is22.90%,and the fuel loss is 11.8% and 9% higher than that in 135°and cylindrical charge,*** stable propagation distance of blast wave in 135°is 42.50% longer than 0°and 28.37% longer than cylindrical charge.

Optical third-harmonic generation of spherical quantum dots under inversely quadratic Hellmann plus inversely quadratic potential

The third-harmonic generation（THG） coefficient for a spherical quantum dot system with inversely quadratic Hellmann plus inversely quadratic potential is investigated theoretically,considering the regulation of quantum size, confinement potential depth and the external environment. The numerical simulation results indicate that the THG coefficient can reach the order of 10-12m2V-2, which strongly relies on the tunable factor, with its resonant peak experiencing a redshift or blueshift. Interestingly, the effect of temperature on the THG coefficient in terms of peak location and size is consistent with the quantum dot radius but contrasts with the hydrostatic pressure. Thus, it is crucial to focus on the influence of internal and external parameters on nonlinear optical effects, and to implement the theory in practical experiments and the manufacture of optoelectronic devices.

Impact of the Political Risk on Food Reserve Ratio:Evidence Across Countries

Using an unbalanced panel data covering 75 countries from 1991 to 2019, the authors explore how the political risk impacts on food reserve ratio. The empirical findings show that an increasing political risk negatively affects food reserve ratio, and the same effects hold for both internal risk and external risk. Moreover, the authors find that the increasing external or internal risks both negatively affect food production and food exports, but external risk does not significantly impact food imports and it positively impacts food consumption, while internal risk negatively impacts food imports and food consumption. The results suggest that most governments have difficulty raising subsequent food reserve ratios in face of an increasing political risk, no matter if it is an internal risk or an external risk although the mechanisms behind the impacts are different.
