Association between brain N-acetylaspartate levels and sensory and motor dysfunction in patients who have spinal cord injury with spasticity:an observational case-control study

Spinal cord injury is a severe and devastating disease,and spasticity is a common and severe complication that is notoriously refractory to ***,the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying spasticity and its development remain largely *** goal of the present study was to find differences,if any,in metabolites of the left precentral gyrus and basal ganglia of patients who have spinal cord injury with or without spasticity,and to explore the relationship between the brain metabolite concentrations and clinical ***-six participants were recruited for magnetic resonance spectroscopic examination:23 with spinal cord injury(12 with spasticity and 11 without spasticity)and 13 healthy *** acquired localized proton spectra from the precentral gyrus and basal ganglia via 10 mm^(3) ***,univariate linear regression analysis demonstrated that the lower that the N-acetylaspartate concentration(a marker for neuronal loss)was in the precentral gyrus of the patients,the lower their ASIA(American Spinal Injury Association)light-touch scores,pinprick scores,and motor ***,longer durations of injury were associated with higher N-acetylaspartate levels in the precentral *** with the healthy participants and patients without spasticity,N-acetylaspartate levels in the patients with spasticity were significantly lower in both the precentral gyrus and basal *** N-acetylaspartate levels also correlated with greater sensory and motor dysfunction in the patients who had spinal cord injury with spasticity.

Stretchable and self-healing conductive fibers from hierarchical silver nanowires-assembled network

Conductive fibers(CFs)with features of high conductivity,stretchability,self-healability,and electromechanical stability are key components of the increasingly popular wearable ***,since the lack of structural design of conductive network and interfacial interaction between soft polymer and conductive additives,it is still hard to enable CFs to meet above ***,we describe a facial drawing method from a hydrogel reservoir which is remolded into ultrathin and stretchable CFs with excellent multi-responsive *** hydrogel reservoir was fabricated in synergy of an ice-templating method and in situ polymerization using the assembled framework as a *** on the effective fabrication mechanism,the diameter of CFs could be well-tuned from 90 to 400μm by adjusting the dipping depth of the glass rod,accompanied with conductivity increased from 0.75 to 2.5 S/*** the hierarchical network structure was well maintained in the CFs,professional performances have been proved on the stretchability and electromechanical *** presence of massive hydrogen bonding and Ag–S bond enabled the CFs with excellent self-healability under the conditions of contact,electric field,and near infrared light,***,the CFs with high sensing property could be integrated into an advanced textile sensor through an effective healing-induced integration strategy,demonstrating its great potentials as superior two-dimensional(2D)electronic skins.

Effective utilization of dolomitic lead-zinc waste rock by replacing dolomite as flux in iron ore sintering process

With increasingly stringent environmental protection policies,cost-effective and value-added treatment of massive lead-zinc waste rock(LZWR)generated from the preconcentration process has attracted substantial attention.A type of dolomitic LZWR with 18 wt.%MgO,27 wt.%CaO,0.29 wt.%Zn and 1.43 wt.%S was used as a replacement flux in the iron ore sintering *** sinter pot tests were carried out based on an industrial ore *** results show that replacing 0%-60%of dolomite with LZWR does not adversely affect the sintering productivity,fuel consumption rate,and the quality of the sinter products,while the Zn and S elements contained in LZWR can be effectively removed with the residual Zn and S contents of the resultant sinter products being less than 0.02 and 0.055 wt.%,***,substituting LZWR for dolomite as a flux inevitably increases the SO_(2) concentration in the sintering flue gas due to its high sulfur *** the processing capacity of the sintering flue gas desulfurization system,the replacement ratio of dolomite can reach 40%,equal to LZWR consumption of 24.3 kg per ton of *** SO_(2) in sintering flue gas can be recovered to produce(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) or HSO_(4),while the volatilized Zn collected into the zinc-containing dust can be subsequently recycled by the rotary hearth furnace ***,it is technologically and economically feasible to use the LZWR as a replacement flux in the iron ore sintering process,providing a new way for the safe,large-scale and low-cost treatment of LZWR.

Early endoscopic management of an infected acute necrotic collection misdiagnosed as a pancreatic pseudocyst: A case report

BACKGROUND Infected acute necrotic collection(ANC)is a fatal complication of acute pancre-atitis with substantial morbidity and *** plays an exceedingly important role as the first step in invasive intervention for infected necrosis;however,there is great controversy about the optimal drainage time,and better treatment should be *** SUMMARY We report the case of a 43-year-old man who was admitted to the hospital with severe intake reduction due to early satiety 2 wk after treatment for acute pancre-atitis;conservative treatment was ineffective,and a pancreatic pseudocyst was suspected on contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT).Endoscopic ultra-sonography(EUS)suggested hyperechoic necrotic tissue within the cyst *** wall was not completely mature,and the culture of the puncture fluid was positive for A-haemolytic ***,the final diagnosis of ANC in-fection was *** necrotic collection was not walled off and contained many solid components;therefore,the patient underwent EUS-guided aspiration and *** weeks after the collection was completely encapsulated,pancreatic duct stent drainage via endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)was performed,and the patient was subsequently successfully *** repeat CT,the pancreatic cysts had almost disappeared during the 6-month fo-llow-up period after *** Early EUS-guided aspiration and lavage combined with late ERCP catheter drainage may be effective methods for intervention in infected ANCs.

Angiogenesis in atherosclerosis(AS)promotes plaque ***-126 has a significant role in ***(TMP)and paeoniflorin(PF)have anti-atherosclerotic ***,the miR-126-related mechanisms of TMP and PF combination(TMP-PF)on angiogenesis in AS have not been *** explore the mechanism of TMP-PF on angiogenesis in AS targeting *** umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)were assigned into the control,model,TMP-PF,TMP-PF+miR-126 inhibitor,and simvastatin *** were transfected with miR-126 inhibitor or negative control,incubated with oxidized low-density lipoprotein(ox-LDL)to establish AS model,and then treated with TMP-PF or *** proliferation,migration,and tube formation assays are conducted,and the expression of angiogenesis-related factors were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and Western *** expression level of miR-126 was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).0x-LDL promoted HUVECs proliferation,migration,and tube formation,downregulated miR-126 expression,and increased the expression of VEGF,VEGFR2,bFGF,and ***-PF inhibited proliferation,migration,and tube formation,upregulated miR-126 expression and decreased the expression of VEGF,VEGFR2,bFGF,and FGFR1 in ox-LDL-induced ***,the effects of TMP-PF on angiogenesis and the expression of miR-126,VEGF,VEGFR2,and FGFR1 were abolished by miR-126 ***-PF suppressed angiogenesis in AS by regulating miR-126/VEGF/VEGFR2 pathway,which might elucidate the underlying mechanism of TMP-PF in alleviating AS.

Observation-based method for O_(3)formation sensitivity research is an important tool to analyze the causes of ground-level O_(3)pollution,which has broad application potentials in determining the O_(3)pollution formation mechanism and developing prevention and control *** paper outlined the development history of research on O_(3)formation sensitivity based on observational methods,described the principle and applicability of the methodology,summarized the relative application results in China and provided recommendations on the prevention and control of O_(3)pollution in China based on relevant study results,and finally pointed out the shortcomings and future development prospects in this field in *** overview study showed that the O_(3)formation sensitivity in some urban areas in China in recent years presented a gradual shifting tendency from the VOC-limited regime to the transition regime or the NO_(x)-limited regime due to the implementation of the O_(3)precursors emission reduction policies;O_(3)pollution control strategies and precursor control countermeasures should be formulated based on local conditions and the dynamic control capability of O_(3)pollution control measures should be *** are still some current deficiencies in the study field in ***,it is recommended that a stereoscopic monitoring network for atmospheric photochemical components should be further constructed and improved;the atmospheric chemical mechanisms should be vigorously developed,and standardized methods for determining the O_(3)formation sensitivity should be established in China in the near future.

With the rapid development of large-scale development of marginal oilfields in China,simple wellhead platforms that are simple in structure and easy to install have become an inevitable choice in the process of oilfield ***,traditional simple wellhead platforms are often discarded after a single *** pursuit of a more costeffective approach to developing marginal oilfields,this paper proposes a new offshore oil field development facility—an integrated bucket foundation for wellhead *** verify the safety of its towing behavior and obtain the dynamic response characteristics of the structure,this paper takes a bucket integrated bucket foundation for wellhead platform with a diameter of 40 m as the research *** combining physical model tests and numerical simulations,it analyzes the static stability and dynamic response characteristics of the structure during towing,complete with the effects of the draft,wave height,wave period,and towing point height,which produce the dynamic responses of the structure under different influence factors,such as roll angle,pitch angle,heave acceleration and towing force as well as the sensibility to transport *** results show that the integrated bucket foundation for wellhead platform is capable of self-floating towing,and its movement is affected by the local environment,which will provide a reference for actual projects.

Influence of Trailing-Edge Wear on the Vibrational Behavior of Wind Turbine Blades

To study the impact of the trailing-edge wear on the vibrational behavior of wind-turbine blades,unworn blades and trailing-edge worn blades have been assessed through relevant modal *** to these experiments,the natural frequencies of trailing-edge worn blades-1,-2,and-3 increase the most in the second to fourth order,theﬁfth order increases in the middle,and theﬁrst order increases the *** damping ratio data indi-cate that,in general,theﬁrstﬁve-order damping ratios of trailing-edge worn blades-1 and trailing-edge worn blades-2 are reduced,and theﬁrstﬁve-order damping ratios of trailing-edge worn blades-3 are slightly *** mode shape diagram shows that the trailing-edge worn blades-1 and-2 have a large swing in the tip and the blade,whereas the second-and third-order vibration shapes of the trailing edge-worn blade-3 tend to be ***,all these results reveal that the blade’s mass and the wear area are the main fac-tors affecting the vibration characteristics of wind turbine blades.

In the pursuit of high-performance single-molecule magnets(SMMs),incorporating intramolecular magnetic coupling emerges as a pivotal *** these,d-f SMMs have garnered significant attention due to their remarkable versatility,which lies in their ability to tune coordination environments and facilely substitute metal ***,achieving performance-centric d-f SMMs through the synergistic interplay between highly anisotropic f ions and d-f magnetic interactions remains a formidable *** mononuclear hexagonal bipyramidal(D_(6h))Dy^(Ⅲ)SMMs have been successfully isolated,the exploration of d-f SMMs featuring D_(6h)-lanthanide metal centers remains uncharted *** this study,we employed planar bipodal ligands in conjunction with“staple-like”axial phenoxide ligands to synthesize the first hexagonal bipyramidal d-f ***,this compound exhibits alternating-current magnetic susceptibilities peaking up to 68 K with an energy barrier surpassing 1,200 K,thus establishing a new benchmark within the heterometallic d-f SMM landscape inclusive of complexes with diamagnetic d metals and paramagnetic f ***,the ferromagnetic interaction at the d-f sites engenders oscillating relaxation times contingent on the magnetic field—a characteristic distinct from mononuclear *** findings shed light on a deliberate design approach for d-f SMMs,emphasizing the cooperative utilization of high-barrier lanthanide modules alongside d ions through magnetic *** synergy significantly enhances and diversifies the magnetic dynamics of these intriguing molecular systems.
