A Dietary Supplement Jinghuosu Ameliorates Reproductive Damage Induced by Tripterygium Glycosides

Objective To determine the possible protective effects of Jinghuosu,a dietary supplement(DS),on tripterygium glycosides(TG)-induced reproductive system injury in rats and its underlying *** A reproductive damage model was established in rats by feeding of ***-eight male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into 4 groups using a random number table(n=7 in each):control(C)group,model(M)group,DS group and L-carnitine(LC)*** in M,DS and LC groups received 40 mg/kg TGs *** from the 5th week,after administration of TGs for 4 h every day,rats in DS and LC groups were administered with 2.7 g/kg DS and 0.21 g/kg LC,respectively,for protective treatment over the next 4 *** in Group C continued to receive the control ***-eosin staining was used for histopathological analysis of rat testicular ***-linked immunosorbent assay was performed to measure alkaline phosphatase(ALP),lactate dehydrogenase,alcohol dehydrogenase,total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),superoxide dismutase,glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),and malondialdehyde(MDA)*** assay was used to determine the serum testosterone *** real-time PCR and Western blotting were conducted to analyze the expression of genes and proteins related to the testosterone synthesis pathway and the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/heme oxygenase 1 antioxidant *** Oral administration of TGs induced significant increases in the testicular levels of zinc transporter 1 and MDA(P<0.05).On the other hand,sperm concentration,sperm motility,and serum testosterone,serum zinc,testicular zinc,Zrt-,Irt-like protein 1,ALP,luteinizing hormone(LH)receptor,steroidogenic acute regulatory protein,Cytochrome P450 family 11 subfamily A member 1,3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1 T-AOC,GSH-Px,nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2,heme oxygenase-1 and NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1 levels decreased following TG

Study on the effect of Fresh Air Ventilation system for reducing indoor ^(222)Rn

Objective:To explore the reduction effect for the indoor ^(222)Rn(Rn)by Fresh Air Ventilation(FAV)system,a novel commercial ventilation device in ***:The indoor concentrations of Rn and its decay products(RnD)in three residential rooms,two in Beijing and one in Hefei city,Anhui province,before and after FAVS functioned were measured using an active continuous *** air exchange rate was monitored by measuring CO_(2) concentration using the tracer gas ***:In the three rooms,the FAVS reduced the Rn concentrations from(162±80)Bq/m^(3) to(63±22)Bq/m^(3) and decreased the RnD concentrations from(64±35)Bq/m^(3) to(13±6)Bq/m^(3) on average,a decrease of(59±25)% in the Rn concentrations and a drop of(77±18)%in the RnD *** dose conversion factors of Rn and RnD,FAVS decreased the exposure dose by(76±20)%.Besides,FAVS increased the air exchange rates from 0.17 h^(-1) to 0.56 h^(-1) on ***:FAVS can effectively reduce indoor Rn and RnD concentrations by improving the air exchange,serving as a valuable supplement to existing radon mitigation methods,especially in extreme climates.

Conventional microscopes designed for submicron resolution in biological research are hindered by a limited field of view,typically around 1 *** restriction poses a challenge when attempting to simultaneously analyze various parts of a sample,such as different brain *** addition,conventional objective lenses struggle to perform consistently across the required range of wavelengths for brain imaging in *** we present a novel mesoscopic objective lens with an impressive field of view of 8 mm,a numerical aperture of 0.5,and a working wavelength range from 400 to 1000 *** achieved a resolution of 0.74μm in fluorescent beads *** versatility of this lens was further demonstrated through high-quality images of mouse brain and kidney sections in a wide-field imaging system,a confocal laser scanning system,and a two-photon imaging *** mesoscopic objective lens holds immense promise for advancing multi-wavelength imaging of large fields of view at high resolution.

Analysis of China’s PM_(2.5)and ozone coordinated control strategy based on the observation data from 2015 to 2020

The coordinated control of PM_(2.5)and ozone has become the strategic goal of national air pollution *** the gradual decline in PM_(2.5)concentration and the aggravation of ozone pollution,a better understanding of the coordinated control of PM_(2.5)and ozone is urgently ***,we collected and sorted air pollutant data for 337 cities from 2015 to 2020 to explore the characteristics of PM_(2.5)and ozone pollution based on China’s five major air pollution *** results show that it is necessary to continue to strengthen the emission reduction in PM_(2.5)and ozone precursors,and control NO_(x) and VOCs while promoting a dramatic emission reduction in PM_(2.5).The primary method of curbing ozone pollution is to strengthen the emission control of VOCs,with a long-term strategy of achieving substantial emission reductions in NO_(x),because VOCs and NO_(x) are also precursors to PM_(2.5);hence,their reductions also contribute to the reduction in PM_(2.5).Therefore,the implementation of a multipollutant emission reduction control strategy aimed at the prevention and control of PM_(2.5)and ozone pollution is the only means to realize the coordinated control of PM_(2.5)and ozone.

A statistical analysis of the Kappa-type energy spectrum distribution of radiation belt electrons observed by Van Allen Probes

The energy spectrum of energetic electrons is a key factor representing the dynamic variations of Earth’s Van Allen radiation *** measurements have indicated that the commonly used Maxwellian and Kappa distributions are inadequate for capturing the realistic spectral distributions of radiation belt *** we adopt the Kappa-type(KT)distribution as the fitting function and perform a statistical analysis to investigate the radiation belt electron flux spectra observed by the Van Allen *** calculating the optimal values of the key KT distribution parameters(i.e.,κandθ2)from the observed spectral shapes,we fit the radiation belt electron fluxes at different L-shells under different geomagnetic *** this manner,we obtain typical values of the KT distribution parameters,which are statistically feasible for modeling the radiation belt electron flux profiles during either geomagnetically quiet or active periods.A comparison of the KT distribution model results with those using the Maxwellian or Kappa distribution reveals the advantage of the KT distribution for studying the overall properties of the radiation belt electron spectral distribution,which has important implications for deepening the current understanding of the radiation belt electron dynamics under evolving geomagnetic conditions.

Understanding the Mechanism for the In-Plane Yielding Anisotropy of a Hot-Rolled Zirconium Plate

Previously,the in-plane mechanical anisotropy of Zr hot-rolled plates is ascribed mainly to the different activities of the deformation modes activated when loading along different *** this work,a quantitative study on the deformation behavior of a pure Zr hot-rolled plate under tension along the rolling direction(RD)and transverse direction(TD)reveals that both the activities of deformation modes and the anisotropy of grain boundary strengthening account for a tensile yield strength anisotropy along the TD and *** plasticity simulations using viso-plastic self-consistent model show that prismatic slip is the predominant deformation mode for tension along the RD(RD-tension),while prismatic slip and basal slip are co-dominant deformation modes under tension along the TD(TD-tension).A low fraction of■under TD-tension,while hardly activated under *** activation of basal slip with a much higher critical resolve shear stress under TD-tension contributes to a higher yield strength along the TD than along the *** grain boundary strengthening effect under tension along the TD and RD were compared by calculating the activation stress difference(△Stress)and the geometric compatibility factor(m′)between neighboring *** results indicate a higher grain boundary strengthening for TD-tension than that for RD-tension,which will lead to a higher yield strength along the *** is,the anisotropy of grain boundary strengthening between TD-tension and RD-tension also plays an important role in the in-plane anisotropy along the RD and ***,the reasons for why there is a grain-boundary-strengthening anisotropy along the TD and RD were discussed.

High-Performanceα-Diimine Nickel Complexes for Facile Access of PE Elastomers with Exceptional Material Properties

For practicable elastomeric polyethylene,achieving high catalyst thermal stability and activity,along with precise control of polymer properties such as branching density,molecular weights,and distribution,is crucial but *** this study,two sets of symmetricalα-diimine nickel complexes,each comprising four nickel bromide or chloride complexes,were synthesized and investigated their performance for ethylene polymerization under various reaction *** activation with either Et2AlCl or MMAO cocatalysts,these complexes displayed not only high activity but also generated high molecular weight polyethylenes with controlled polydispersity and a substantial number of *** catalyst with the least steric hindrance displayed the remarkable high activity(up to 1.2×10^(7) g·mol^(-1)·h^(-1)).Notably,nickel bromides demonstrated higher activity compared to their chloride *** investigation into the effect of reaction temperature on catalytic performance revealed that NiBrMe-MMAO system displayed high thermal stability(activity up to 2.51×10^(6) g·mol^(-1)·h^(-1) at 100℃)and consistently yielded high polymer molecular weights with narrow polydispersity over a broad temperature range of 30-100℃.Of significant note,mechanical analysis of the resulting polyethylene demonstrated excellent ultimate tensile strength and high strain at ***,the polyethylene sample prepared at 100℃exhibited ultimate tensile strength up to 10 MPa with 1863%maximum strain at break and a strain recovery of up to 54.9%after ten cycles at a fixed strain of 300%,indicating excellent material properties of prepared thermoplastic polyethylene elastomers(TPE).

Taiji-TianQin-LISA network:Precisely measuring the Hubble constant using both bright and dark sirens

In the coming decades,the space-based gravitational-wave(GW)detectors such as Taiji,TianQin,and LISA are expected to form a network capable of detecting millihertz GWs emitted by the mergers of massive black hole binaries(MBHBs).In this work,we investigate the potential of GW standard sirens from the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network in constraining cosmological *** the optimistic scenario in which electromagnetic(EM)counterparts can be detected,we predict the number of detectable bright sirens based on three different MBHB population models,i.e.,popⅢ,Q3d,and *** results show that the TaijiTianQin-LISA network alone could achieve a constraint precision of 0.9%for the Hubble constant,meeting the standard of precision ***,the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network could effectively break the cosmological parameter degeneracies generated by the CMB data,particularly in the dynamical dark energy *** combined with the CMB data,the joint CMB+Taiji-TianQin-LISA data offerσ(w)=0.036 in the wCDM model,which is close to the latest constraint result obtained from the CMB+SN *** also consider a conservative scenario in which EM counterparts are not *** to the precise sky localizations of MBHBs by the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network,the constraint precision of the Hubble constant is expected to reach 1.2%.In conclusion,the GW standard sirens from the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network will play a critical role in helping solve the Hubble tension and shedding light on the nature of dark energy.
