Mendelian randomization analysis:the causal relationship between statins and eye diseases

Background:The specific role of statins in the field of ophthalmology is not *** have the advantages of pleiotropic,relatively safety and low cost,and are a promising choice for the prevention and management of eye ***,there is a divergence of findings regarding the correlation between statin treatment and ocular ***,our intention is to investigate the impact of statins on eye conditions through the utilization of Mendelian randomization(MR).Methods:The UK Biobank provided data on five statins,while the FinnGen database provided data on six eye diseases,including age-related macular degeneration,glaucoma,diabetic retinopathy,senile cataract,drug-induced cataract,and other *** exploration involved the utilization of various methods including inverse variance weighted(IVW),weighted median,weighted multivariate(weighted mode),and MR-Egger *** assess the reliability of the findings,funnel analysis,MR-Egger regression,leave-one-out method,and Cochran’s Q test were ***,reverse MR analysis was performed to evaluate the potential for reverse causality between statin use and eye ***:Based on IVW analysis,there were three pairs of positive results with significant(P<0.05)causal relationship,including atorvastatin and drug-induced cataract(odds ratio(OR)=1.65E-05,95%confidence interval(CI):2.24E-09–0.12;P_(IVW)=0.02),rosuvastatin and drug-induced cataract(OR=2.77E-18,95%CI:7.53E-35–0.1;P_(IVW)=0.04)and fluvastatin with senile cataract(OR=0.5,95%CI:0.25–0.99;P_(IVW)=0.05).No significant causal relationship was observed between other types of statins and eye *** analysis found that the results were *** MR analysis indicated no evidence of reverse causality between statin use and the examined eye ***:Our study finally verified the strong causal relationship between three drugs and two diseases(atorvastatin and rosuvastatin and drug cataract

Recurrence of Transitive Points in Dynamical Systems with the Specification Property

Let T ： X →X be a continuous map of a compact metric space X. A point x E X is called Banach recurrent point if for all neighborhood V of x, （n ∈ N ： T^n（x） ∈ V} has positive upper Banach density. Denote by Tr（T）, W（T）, QW（T） and BR（T） the sets of transitive points, weakly almost periodic points, quasi-weakly almost periodic points and Banach recurrent points of （X, T）. If （X, T） has the specification property, then we show that every transitive point is Banach recurrent and O≠ W（T） n Tr（T） ≠ W＊（T） ∩ Tr（T） ≠ QW（T） ∩ Tr（T） ≠ BR（T） ∩ Tr（T）, in which W＊（T） is a recurrent points set related to an open question posed by Zhou and Feng. Specifically the set Tr（T） M W＊（T）／ W（T） is residual in X. Moreover, we construct a point x E BR ／ QW in symbol dynamical system, and demonstrate that the sets W（T）, QW（T） and BR（T） of a dynamical system are all Borel sets.

A Direct Parametric Approach to Spacecraft Attitude Tracking Control

Through the direct parameter approach, a solution for spacecraft attitude tracking is presented. First of all, the spacecraft attitude tracking control model is built up by the error equation of the second-order nonlinear quaternion-based attitude system. Based on the control model, a suitable controller is designed by the direct parameter approach. Compared with other control strategies, the direct parameter approach can offer all degrees of freedom for the controller to satisfy the requirements for system properties and turn the original nonlinear system into closed-loop linear system. Furthermore, this paper optimizes the controller according to the robustness, limitation of controller output and closed-loop eigenvalue sensitivity. Putting the controller into the original system, the state response of the closed-loop system and the output of controller are plotted in Matlab to verify the availability and robustness of the controller. Therefore, the controlled spacecraft can achieve the goal of tracking on the mobile target with the external disturbance torque.

ITO thin films prepared by electron beam evaporation with End-Hall ion source assisted without heating to the substrate

ITO （indium oxide doped with tin） thin films were deposited on glass substrates by using ITO pellet with a composition of w（In2O3）=90% and w（SnO2）=10% by electron beam evaporated with End-Hall ion source assisted without extra heating. The rate of deposition and flow rate of oxygen were measured and changed to obtain the best properties of ITO thin films. Furthermore, the post annealing process was done in vacuum at different annealing temperatures for 2 h and at 400℃ for different keeping time, respectively. The relation between optical, electrical properties and structure was discussed in detail.

Six cases report of differential diagnosis of periapical diseases

The distinction of some particular forms of periapical area, involving diseases from regular periapical disease, is a matter of considerable importance when choosing a correct treatment. The aim of this study is to describe the differential diagnosis of F,eriapical diseases from six rare cases in clinical practice. The six rare cases are examples of situations where it is difficult to make a differential diagnosis in clinical practice. By retrospective surveys on the clinical examination, radiographs and pathological results, six patients referred to endodontic treatment in our department were analyzed for the accuracy of diagnosis and therapy. The pathoses of the six cases included two atypical radical cysts, periapical cemental dysplasia, cemento-ossifying fibroma, thymus cancer metastasis in the periapical site and tuberculosis. This report indicates that endodontists should be cognizant of a few particular circumstances when clinically treating periapical diseases.

Chylothorax is a rare complication of neck dissection, and bilateral chylothorax is even rarer. However, both are potentially serious and sometimes life-threatening, especially those that are associated with left neck dissection for head and neck neoplasms. We report one case of bilateral chylothorax following left supraclavicular dissection for breast cancer. This case was treated successfully with a new conservative management approach.

Background：Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome （OSAS） has been shown to generate hypertension and endothelial *** vessel is the only vessel that can be observed directly and noninvasively;retinal vascular abnormalities can serve as a predictive marker for the occurrence,clinical course,and prognosis of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular *** objective of this study was to identify the effect of OSAS severity on the morphological changes of retinal ***：Adult patients complained of snoring were included in this *** patients＆#39; general information,polysomnography,and fundus photography parameters including central retinal artery equivalent （CRAE）,central retinal vein equivalent （CRVE）,and arteriole-to-venule ratio （AVR） were *** were divided into four groups according to their apnea-hypopnea index （AHI） results：Group Ⅰ,AHI ≤5/h;Group ll,5/h 〈 AHI ≤30/h;Group Ⅲll,30/h 〈 AHI ≤60/h;and Group Ⅳ,AHI 〉60/***：A total of 133 patients were included in this study with 111 males （83.5%） and 22 females （16.5%）.Mean age was 41.6 ± 9.9 years,and the mean body mass index was 28.1 ± 4.0 kg/*** ranged between 0 and 130.8/h with a mean of 39.l ± 30.7/*** were 24,34,35,and 40 patients in Group Ⅰ,Group Ⅱ,Group Ⅲ,and Group Ⅳ,*** differences were found for AHI （F =388.368,P 〈 0.001）,minimal pulse oxygen saturation （F-91.902,P 〈 0.001）,and arousal index （F =31.014,P 〈 0.001） among four groups;no significant differences were found for CRAE （F=0.460,P =0.599） and CRVE （F =0.404,P =0.586） among groups;there were significant differences for AVR between Group l and Group Ⅳ （63.6 ± 5.1% vs.67.2 ± 5.5%,P =0.010） Group Ⅱ and Group Ⅳ （64.5 ± 6.0% vs.67.2 ± 5.5%,P =0.030）,and Group ll and Group Ⅳ （64.7 ± 4.1% vs.67.2 ± 5.5%,P=0.043）.A main group-by-AHI effect was found on the AVR：patients with higher AHI showed higher AVR results （r =0.225,P =0.009）.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used for multi-var

Traumatic endophthalmitis and the outcome after vitrectomy in young children

AIM:To explore the traumatic endophthalmitis in young children and the outcome of pars plana vitrectomy(PPV).METHODS:Twenty-two eyes of 22 cases of young children consecutive pediatric traumatic endophthalmitis treated and followed up between September 2014 and May 2018 were *** humor or vitreous samples were taken for bacterial culture and sensitivity *** antibiotics(norvancomycin and ceftazidime)injection,combined with 23-gauge PPV,were administered in 22 *** oil(SO;5000 centistoke)tamponade or perfluoropropane gas(C3F8)was used in all *** outcome measures were best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and retinal attachment,the ratio of penetrating injury,and the existence of intraocular foreign ***:The mean age of patients was 6.9±2.2(range,3-10)*** injured eyes suffered from penetrating ocular injury with retained intraocular foreign body in one *** culture was positive in only 2 *** mean follow-up time was 21.1±4.7(range,12-30)*** the primary PPV,intravitreal antibiotics was administrated in all eyes,SO in 18 eyes,and C3F8 in 4 *** secondary operation of SO removal and C3F8 endotamponade was performed in 16 eyes and a second SO endotamponade due to emulsification of the oil and retinal detachment(RD)was operated in 7 eyes underwent 3 to 11.5 mo after primary PPV.A third operation was done in 7 *** final intraocular pressure(IOP)was 8.9±1.8(range,6.9-11.4)mm *** final BCVAs were 20/200 or better in 5,counting fingers in 2,and light perception to hand movement in 8 ***(66.7%)had retinal injury exhibited worse BCVA(P=0.019,Fisher’s exact test).Eyes underwent SO tamponade exhibited worse final BCVA than that with C3F8 in the primary PPV(P=0.026,Fisher’s exact test).CONCLUSION:Traumatic endophthalmitis in children is generally more severe and associated with more complicated surgical *** patients have retinal injury need multiple operations and the final BCVA is poor
