Two-stage aging treatment to accelerate aging kinetics without impairing strength in B_4C/7A04Al composite

Aging treatments are the key process to obtain satisfactory strength for 7xxxAl alloys and their composites. However, traditional single-stage(SS) aging is time-consuming to reach a peak strength condition. In this study, an efficient 120℃ + 160℃ two-stage(TS) aging treatment was proposed on a B_4C/7A04Al composite fabricated via powder metallurgy(PM) technology, which could acquire similar peak-aging strength but only took about 15% of the time compared to traditional 120℃ SS aging. The evolution of precipitation during the TS aging was investigated, as well as those of the 7A04Al alloys for comparison. In the second stage aging process, the higher aging temperature accelerated the nucleation of η′ phases inside the grains and thus increased the density of precipitates. Moreover, the short aging time limited the coarsening of precipitates and the broadening of precipitatefree zones. The above factors were beneficial for quickly obtaining satisfactory precipitation strengthening effects. The B_4C/7A04Al composite exhibited slower aging kinetics than the 7A04Al alloy in the TS aging. Mg elements consumption by the chemical reaction between B impurities introduced by B_4C particles and the Al matrix was considered to potentially retard the aging kinetics of the B_4C/7A04Al composite. Nevertheless, the precipitation sequence was not affected.

A novel kinetic method for determination of trace amounts of cobalt ion was proposed and validated. The method is based on adding malic acid into classical Belousov-Zhabotinskii （B-Z） oscillating chemical system to form a double substrate one. The results showed that when the concentration of cobalt ion was in the range of 5.27× 10^-8 to 5.37 × 10^-12 mol L^-1, the change of the oscillating period was directly proportional to the negative logarithm of cobalt ion concentration. The sensitivity and precision of the developed method were quite satisfactory. The limit of detection was down to 5.20 × 10^-13 mol L^-1 which was a highest sensitivity found for determination of metal ions using oscillating chemical reaction so far. Some factors influencing the determination were also examined. The method has been successfully used to determine cobalt ion in vitamin B12 injection.

AIM:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and systemic safety profile of conbercept in clinical practice on vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-A,VEGF-B,and placental growth factor(PLGF)levels after intravitreal injections for the neovascular age-related macular degeneration(AMD).METHODS:Thir ty-five patients(35 eyes)with neovascular AMD received intravitreal injections of conbercept treatment with pro re nata *** visual acuity(BCVA)and central retinal thickness(CRT)were detected before the intravitreal injection and at 1,3,and 12mo after conbercept *** levels of serum VEGF-A,VEGF-B,and PLGF were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay before the injection and 1 and 12mo after conbercept ***:At baseline,the mean BCVA score was 39.89±14.64 *** mean BCVA scores were 51.03±15.78,56.71±14.38,and 52.49±10.16 letters at 1,3,and 12mo after conbercept treatment,and the BCVA improvements were all significant,respectively(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Conbercept intravitreal injection leads to BCVA and CRT improvement,however,it does not significantly affect systemic serum VEGF-A,VEGF-B,and PLGF levels at 1 and 12mo after intravitreal injection treating neovascular AMD.

Polarization upconversion luminescence(PUCL)of lanthanide ions(Ln^(3+))has been widely used in single particle tracking,microfluidics detection,three-dimensional displays,and so ***,no effective strategy has been developed for modulating *** we report a strategy to regulate PUCL in Ho^(3+)-doped NaYF4single nanorods based on the number of upconversion *** constructing a multiphoton upconversion system for Ho^(3+),we regulate the degree of polarization(DOP)of PUCL from 0.590 for two-photon luminescence to 0.929 for three-photon upconversion luminescence(UCL).Furthermore,our strategy is verified from cross-relaxation between Ho^(3+)and Yb^(3+),excitation wavelength,excitation power density,and local site *** this regulation strategy of PUCL has also been achieved in Tm^(3+),with the DOP ranging from 0.233 for two-photon luminescence to 0.925 for four-photon UCL Besides,multi-dimensional anti-counterfeiting display has been explored with *** work provides an effective strategy for regulating PUCL and also provides more opportunities for the development of polarization display optical encoding,anti-counterfeiting,and integrated optical devices.

Antibody targeted delivery is an effective strategy to improve the diagnostic imaging outcome of nanoscale imaging agents in the focal areas. Dual targeting micelles encapsulating superparamagnetic iron oxide were prepared from the amphiphilic block copolymer poly（ethylene glycol）-poly（e-caprolactone）（PEG-b-PCL） with different targeting ligands cRGD and scFv-ErbB single chain antibody conjugated to the distal ends of PEG block. The breast cancer animal model was established by subcutaneous injecting the BT474 cells into the BALB/c-nu female nude mice and then employed to assess the potential of the dual ligand targeted magnetic micelles as a novel MRI contrast agent on a 1.5 T clinical MR/scanner. The T2 signal intensity of the tumor in animals receiving the dual ligand targeted magnetic micelles via tail vein decreased more significantly than the single ligand targeted and nontargeted magnetic micelles. These results indicate that the dual ligand targeted magnetic micelles, cRGD/scFv-ErbB-PEG-PCL-SPION, have great potential to act as a new type of effective nanoscale MRI contrast agent for early diagnosis of breast cancer.

Autonomous indoor humidity control is gaining more and more attention but is limited by the trade-offs among pore volume,pore size and water stability of water *** solve this problem by using a unique coordination network topology combined with hydrolytically stable M(Ⅲ)carboxylate *** extending the ligand length from 9.0 to 11.2 and 13.7?,the pore volume significantly increases from 0.99 to 1.40 and 1.78 cm^(3)g^(-1),which proportionally increases the saturated water adsorption ***,the pore size slightly increases from 10.4 to 11.0 and 13.5A,which restricts the isotherm inflection pressure and hysteresis width to meet the requirement of indoor humidity *** single-crystals suitable for Xray diffraction studies were obtained by using Fe(Ⅲ)salts,while isostructural frameworks with sufficiently high water stabilities were synthesized by using Cr(Ⅲ)salts,which offer record working capacity of 0.90 and 1.10 g g^(-1)for indoor humidity control.

AIM:To investigate YM155’s effect on retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)cells’viability and the potential regulatory ***:Human immortalized RPE cell lines(ARPE-19 cell line)were processed with YM155 and epidermal growth factor(EGF).ARPE-19 cell viability was detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay,and apoptosis was tested by flow cytometry ***-19 cell proliferation was assessed with bromodeoxyuridine tagged incorporation assay,and migration ability was evaluated via a wound-healing *** growth factor receptor(EGFR)/MAPK pathway proteins were tested via *** localization was examined by immunofluorescence ***:YM155 suppressed ARPE-19 cells’viability in a time and concentration-dependent manner.A high dose of YM155 caused a small amount of ARPE-19 cell ***155 significantly diminished the ARPE-19 cells’proliferative and migrative ***155 downregulated total EGFR and phosphorylated external signalregulated protein kinase(ERK),and it up-regulated the phosphorylation of P38 MAPK and c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK).YM155 induced endocytosis of EGFR in ARPE-19 ***155 also attenuated EGF-induced ARPE-19 cells’proliferative and migrative ***,YM155 significantly decreased the expression of phosphorylated EGFR and ERK after treated by ***:YM155 inhibits RPE cell survival,the cell proliferative and migrative capacity,and it effectuates a small amount of cell death through the EGFR/MAPK signaling ***155 might,therefore,be an agent to prevent and treat abnormal RPE cell survival in proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
