Objective： High body mass index （BMI） is considered as the most important risk factor for elevated serum alanine aminotransferase （ALT） concentration. This study examined an array of factors, including waist circumference （WC） and folate deficiency, which may mediate the association of BMI with serum ALT concentration in Chinese hypertensive adults without known hepatic diseases. Methods： A multicenter, cross-sectional study was carried out. A total of 378 patients with mild or moderate hypertension and without known hepatic diseases were recruited from five hospitals in Harbin, Shanghai, Beijing, Xi＇an, and Nanjing. Results： Of the 360 hypertensive patients with complete data in our final analysis, 13.6% had high ALT concentrations （〉40 IU/L）. Factors including BMI, WC, triglycedde level, and folate concentration were associated with ALT concentration in univariate analysis. Consistently higher preva- lence rates of elevated ALT were observed in subjects with lower folate concentrations （≥12 vs. 〈12 nmol/L, 9.9% vs. 17.8%, P=-0.03）, with higher BMI （≥28 vs. 〈28 kg/m2, 21.5% vs. 11.4%, P=-0.02） or higher WC （≥90 vs. 〈90 cm, 18.5% vs. 10.0%, P=-0.02）. However, in multivariate analysis, the association between BMI and ALT concentration disap- peared （P=-0.802 in males and 0.369 in females）, while WC in females （P〈0.001） and folate concentration （P=-0.036 in males and 0.044 in females） remained as significant predictors for ALT concentration. Conclusions： This multicenter study demonstrated that WC and low folate concentration were important factors underlying the association between BMI and ALT concentrations in Chinese hypertensive adults without known hepatic diseases.

Malnutrition is a common comorbidity among patients with ***,no nutrition-screening tool has been recognized in this population.A quick and easy screening tool for nutrition with high sensitivity and easy-to-use is *** on the previous 25 nutrition-screening tools,the Delphi method was made by the members of the Chinese Society of Nutritional Oncology to choose the most useful item from each *** to these results,we built a nutrition-screening tool named age,intake,weight,and walking(AIWW).Malnutrition was defined based on the scored patient-generated subjective global assessment(PG-SGA).Concurrent validity was evaluated using the Kendall tau coefficient and kappa consistency between the malnutrition risks of AIWW,nutritional risk screening 2002(NRS-2002),and malnutrition screening tool(MST).Clinical benefit was calculated by the decision curve analysis(DCA),integrated discrimination improvement(IDI),and continuous net reclassification improvement(c NRI).A total of 11,360 patients(male,n=6,024(53.0%)were included in the final study cohort,and 6,363 patients had malnutrition based on *** on AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST,7,545,3,469,and1,840 patients were at risk of malnutrition,*** sensitivities of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST risks were 0.910,0.531,and 0.285,and the specificities were 0.768,0.946,and *** Kendall tau coefficients of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST risks were 0.588,0.501,and 0.326,*** area under the curve of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST risks were0.785,0.739,and 0.630,*** IDI,c NRI,and DCA showed that AIWW is non-inferior to NRS-2002(IDI:0.002(-0.009,0.013),c NRI:-0.015(-0.049,0.020)).AIWW scores can also predict the survival of patients with *** missed diagnosis rates of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST were 0.09%,49.0%,and 73.2%,*** showed a better nutritionscreening effect than NRS-2002 and MST for patients with cancer and could be recommended as an alternative nutritionscreening tool

Convertible hydrogel supercapacitors have emerged as promising energy storage devices in switches,diodes, and transistors. However, inherent weaknesses in ionic conductivity, mechanical properties,and water retention of hydrogel electrolytes seriously hinder their development. Inspired by the hardness conversion of sea cucumber skin, a conductivity and mechanics dual-tunable salt gel electrolyte is successfully designed. The salt gel presents a reversible switching of conductors-insulators and a mechanical regulation between softness and hardness via the dissolution-crystallization transition of sodium acetate trihydrate（SAT）. Meanwhile, the salt gels spontaneously grow a layer of “armor” through saturated phase-change salt crystals effectively reducing water evaporation of hydrogel ***, this phase-change soft-rigid conversion strategy will expand the capabilities of gel-based flexible supercapacitors(area capacitance: 258.6 mF cm-2), and the capacitance retention rate could still reach 86.9% after 3000 cycles at high temperatures. Moreover, the salt gel supercapacitor is potentially used in over-heat alarm systems. It is anticipated that the strategy of conductivity and mechanics of dual-tunable salt gel would provide a new perspective on the development of energy storage devices,wearable electronics, and flexible robots.

The integrated gradient of a quadrupole will be deviated by a close neighboring sextupole, and this is called the effect of fringe field interference. Using the Lie algebra techniques, an analytical expression for the betatron tune shift due to this effect has been derived. The process does not depend on the supposition of the thin-lens quadrupoles. It can be used to estimate the tune shift differences between the designed lattice and the one including the fringe field interference. More generally, the method can be applied to other kinds of fringe field interference.

The initiation of sex differentiation in insects is regulated by primary sex determination *** the Medfly Ceratitis capitata and other tephritids,Maleness-on-the-Y(MoY) is the master gene for male sex ***,the primary signal in Zeugodacus cucurbitae(Coquillett),a very destructive tephritid pest across the world,remains *** this study,we have isolated and characterized the Medfly MoY homolog in ***,*** protein shows high sequence conservation to its homologs in Bactrocera *** transcription begins and peaks at very early embryonic stages and then becomes undetectable except the testes and heads of day 1 male *** ZcMoY in early embryos by RNAi causes abnormal external genitalia and interior reproductive organs,giving rise to intersexes and feminization of XY *** expression pattern and knockdown phenotypes of ZcMoY indicate that ZcMoY plays a key role in regulating sex determination of *** *** findings will help the understanding of sex determination in *** and facilitate the development of genetic sexing strains in its biological control.

Maize （Zea mays L.） is one of the world’s major food crops, and often suffers from tremendous yield loss caused by abiotic stresses. The MADS-box genes are known to play versatile roles in plants, controlling plant responses to multiple abiotic stresses. However, understanding of regulation of their expressions by the conventional loss-of-function approach is very dififcult. So far, regulation of MADS-box gene expression is little known. The best approach to retrieve expression regulation of this category of genes is to characterize expression of their promoters. In this study, the promoter of a homolog （GenBank accession no. EC864166） of maize MADS-box gene m18 was cloned by way of genome-walking PCR, named Pro66. Predicative analysis indicated that Pro66 contains more than one TATA box and multiple cis-acting environmental conditions-responsive elements （ECREs）. Pro66 could drive expression of theβ-glucuronidase （GUS）-encoding gene in maize, and heterologous expression of GUS in red pepper stressed by water deifcit, salt, copper, iron deifciency, heat, cold, and grown under short and long photoperiods, echoing predicative ECREs. Conclusively, maize MADS-box gene m18 likely plays versatile functions in maize response to multiple abiotic stresses due to the promoter with multiple cis-acting elements. The complex arrangement of multiple cis-acting elements in the promoter features meticulously regulated expression of m18. The results give informative clues for heterologous utilisation of the promoters in monocot and dicot species. The copy of the ECREs and heterologous expression of the promoter in dicot species are also discussed.

Tin mine tailings(TMT)and fuming slag(FS)contain many heavy metals(As,Cr,Cu,Zn and Mn)that cause severe pollution to the ***,geopolymers were prepared using TMT,FS and flue gas desulfurization gypsum(FGDG)to immobilize heavy metals,and their compressive strength and heavy metal leaching toxicity were *** was first determined that T4F5(TMT:FS=4:5)sample exhibited the highest compressive strength(7.83 MPa).T4F5 achieved 95%immobilization efficiency for As and Cr,and nearly 100%for Cu,Zn and Mn,showing good immobilization performance.A series of characterization analyses showed that heavy metal cations can balance the charge in the geopolymer and replace Al in the geopolymer structure to form covalent *** addition,about 2%–20%of heavy metal Fe was immobilized in hydration products,heavy metal hydroxides and non-bridging Si–O and Al–O coordination with silica-aluminate ***_(3)^(3−) was oxidized into AsO_(4)^(3−),which may form Ca–As or Fe–As ***_(2)O_(7)^(2−)was converted to CrO_(4)^(2−)under alkaline environment and then combined with OH−to form Cr(OH)3 ***^(2+)may react directly with dissolved silicate to form Mn_(2)SiO_(4) and also form Mn(OH)_(2) *** unstable Mn(OH)_(2) can be further oxidized to MnO_(2).The heavy metal cations were immobilized in the silicoaluminate lattice,while the anions tended to form insoluble *** results may benefit the industry and government for better handling of TMT,FS and solid wastes containing the abovementioned five heavy metals.

Particle Imaging Velocimetry （PIV） techniques were applied to investigate the particle motion and cluster properties in a gas-solid two-phase flow in a circulating fluidized bed riser. Visual images and micro-structure of various clusters were captured. After the boundary of clusters was determined by the gray level threshold method, clusters were classified by the distance between particles and the shape and position of clusters. In addition, the process of clusters forming and breaking up was described, and the sizes of clusters were also obtained. With the Minimum Quadric Difference （MQD） cross-correlation algorithm suitable for high-density particles, the axial velocities of the particles were obtained in the dilute phase section. The features of particle motion were revealed by investigating statistically the magnitude and distribution of particle axial velocity in the radial direction. At most radial cross-sections, there exists a parabola-shaped distribution of upward axial velocity of particles, namely, the magnitude of axial velocity in the core region is higher than that near the wall region of the riser.
