Drug-resistant varieties of pathogens are now a recognized global threat. Insights into the routes for drug resistance in these pathogens are critical for developing more effective antibacterial drugs. A systems-level analysis of the genes, proteins, and interactions involved is an important step to gaining such insights. This paper discusses some of the computational challenges that must be surmounted to enable such an analysis; viz., unreliability of bacterial interactome maps, paucity of bacterial interactome maps, and identification of pathways to bacterial drug resistance.

Background Proper parent-child interaction is crucial for child development, but an assessment tool in Chinese is currently lacking. This study aimed to develop and validate a parent-reported parent-child interaction scale for Chinese preschool children. Methods The Chinese parent-child interaction scale (CPCIs) was designed by an expert panel based on the literature and clinical observations in the Chinese context. The initial CPCIs had 14 parent-child interactive activity items. Psychometric properties of the CPCIs were examined using the Rasch model and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Convergent validity was investigated by the associations between CPCIs and family income, maternal education level, and children's school readiness. Results The study recruited 567 Chinese parent-child pairs from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, who completed the CPCIs. six out of the 14 items in the initial CPCIs were dropped due to suboptimal fi t values. The refined 8-item CPCIs was shown to be valid and reliable by Rasch models and CFA. The person separation reliability and Cronbach's α of the CPCIs were 0.81 and 0.82, respectively. The CPCIs scores were positively associated with family's socioeconomic status (η2 = 0.05,P hildren's school readiness (η2 = 0.01,P sion CPCIs is an easily administered, valid, and reliable tool for the assessment of parent-child interactions in Chinese families.

In this work, the prerequisite and mode of electromagnetic response of Al nanof ilms to electromagnetic wave field was suggested. Reflectance, transmittance in infrared region and carrier density of the films was measured. With the carrier density of the films, the dependence of their plasma frequencies on the film thickness was obtained. On the other hand, the dependence of absorptance on the frequency of electromagnetic wave field was set up by using the measured reflectance and transmittance, which provided plasma frequency-film thickness relation as well. similarity of both plasma frequency-film thickness relations proved plasma resonance as a mode of electromagnetic response in Al nanofilms.

A traveling wave solution to the Aw-Rascle traffic flow model that includes the relaxation and diffusion terms is investigated. The model can be approximated by the well-known Kortweg-de Vries （KdV） equation. A numerical simulation is conducted by the first-order accurate Lax-Friedrichs scheme, which is known for its ability to capture the entropy solution to hyperbolic conservation laws. Periodic boundary conditions are applied to simulate a lengthy propagation, where the profile of the derived KdV solution is taken as the initial condition to observe the change of the profile. The simulation shows good agreement between the approximated KdV solution and the numerical solution.

Ideal access structures admit ideal secret sharing schemes where the shares have the minimal *** multipartite access structures can well mirror the real social organizations, of which the participants are partitioned into disjoint groups according to their properties, it is desirable to find expressive ideal multipartite access structures. Integer polymatroids, due to their close relationship with ideal multipartite access structures,have been shown as a powerful tool to study the ideality of some multipartite access structures. In this paper, to cater for flexible applications, we consider several ideal multipartite access structures that further extend some known results. We first explore a type of compartmented access structures with strictly lower bounds, which provide fairness among all the participant groups when recovering the secret. Then, we investigate ideal bench access structures where the participant set is divided into two parts, that is, line-up section and bench *** participants in line-up section can delegate their capabilities to the participants in bench section in such a way that the participants in bench section can take over the role of their delegators in line-up section, which is applicable to emergency situations when there are no enough participants in line-up section for recovering the secret. Finally, we propose two types of ideal partially hierarchical access structures which are suitable to more realistic hierarchical social organizations than existing results.

Underground coal mining is one of the most dangerous occupations throughout the *** reasons behind an underground occupational accident are too complex to analyze mainly due to many uncertainties which may arise from geological,operational conditions of the mine or individual characteristics of *** study proposes implementing a quantitative methodology for the analysis and assessment of hazards associated with occupational *** application of the proposed approach is performed on the mines of Turkish hard Coal Enterprises(TTK).The accidents in TTK between the years 2000 and 2014 are firstly statistically analyzed with respect to the number,type and location of accidents,age,experience,education level and main duty of the casualties and also injuries resulting from such *** hazards are classified as individual,operational and locational hazards and quantified using contingency tables,conditional and total probability *** and upper boundaries of hazards are determined and event trees for each hazard class are *** hazard evaluation results show that Armutcuk,Karadon and Uzulmez mines have relatively high hazard levels while Amasra and Kozlu mines have relatively lower hazard values.
