Pd cluster decorated free standing flexible cathode for high performance li-oxygen batteries

As a promising candidate for the next generation energy storage system,rechargeable lithium-oxygen batteries(lOBs)still face substantial chall.nges caused by insulating discharge products that preclude their practical *** highly efficient cathode catalysts capable of facilitating formation/decomposition of discharge products is considered as an essential approach towards high performance ***,Pd decorated Te nanowires(Pd@Te NWs)were synthesized as advanced catalyst in lOBs to maximize Pd utilization and achieve synergistic effect,in which Pd clusters were uniformly grown on Te substrate though regulating the Pd:Te ***,Pd@Te nanowires assembled into an interpenetrating network-like structure by vacuum filtration and employed as flexible cathode,enabl.ng lOBs achieved an ultral.ng 190 cycles stability and a superior specific capacity of 3.35 mAh·cm^(-2).Experimental studies and density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal the excellent catalytic ability of Pd@Te and synergistic catalytic mechanism of Pd and Te,in which uniform electron distribution,extensive electron exchange,and large adsorption distance between Pd cluster and discharge products promote homogeneous adsorption/desorption of discharge products,while the high adsorption energy of Te substrate for li species reduces the initial dynamical energy barrier during discharging *** current work provides viable strategy to design composite catalysts for flexible cathode of lOBs with synergistic catalytic effects.

Carbon nano additives(CNAs)are critical to achieving the unique properties of functionalized composites,however,controll.ng the dispersion of CNAs in material matrix is always a chall.nging *** this study,a simple atomization approach was successfully developed to promote the dispersion efficiency of graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)in cement *** atomization approach can be integrated with the direct,indirect and combined ultrasonic stirrings in a homemade automatic stirring-atomization *** and microstructure tests were performed on hardened cement pastes blended with GNPs in different stirring and mixing *** show that the direct ultrasonic stirrings enabled more homogeneous dispersions of GNP particles with a smaller size for a l.nger *** atomized droplets with the mean size of~100μm largely mitigated GNPs’*** GNPs were observed in the cement matrix with the strength gain by up to 54%,and the total porosity decrease by 21%in 0.3 wt%GNPs *** greatly enhanced dispersion efficiency of GNPs in cement also raised the cement *** work provides an effective and manpower saving technique toward dispersing CNAs in engineering materials with great industrialization prospects.

Development of a prognostic scoring system for hepatic vena cava Budd-Chiari syndrome with hepatocellular carcinoma

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a serious complication of hepatic vena cava Budd-Chiari syndrome(HVC-BCS)that significantly reduces the survival time of *** study aimed to analyze the prognostic factors influencing the survival of HVC-BCS patients with HCC and to develop a prognostic scoring ***:The clinical and follow-up data of 64 HVC-BCS patients with HCC who received invasive treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between January 2015 and December 2019 were retrospectively ***-Meier curves and log-rank tests were used to analyze the survival curve of patients and the difference in prognoses between the *** and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to analyze the influence of biochemical,tumor,and etiological characteristics on the total survival time of patients,and a new prognostic scoring system was developed according to the regression coefficients of the independent predictors in the statistical *** prediction efficiency was evaluated using the time-dependent receiver operating characteristics curve and concordance ***:Multivariate analysis showed that serum albumin levell[hazard ratio(HR)=4.207,95%confidence interval(CI):1.816-8.932,P=0.001],maximum tumor diameter>7 cm(HR=8.623,95%CI:3.771-19.715,Pl.A prognostic scoring system was developed according to the above-mentioned independent predictors,and patients were classified into grades A,B,C and *** differences in survival were found among the four ***:This study successfully developed a prognostic scoring system for HVC-BCS patients with HCC,which is helpful for clinical evaluation of patient prognosis.
