Difference in normal corneal thickness and curvature between Mongolian and Han nationalities

AIM: To investigate the differences in central corneal thickness(CCT) and curvature in myopic patients with different genders between Mongolian and Han nationalities in the Inner Mongolia ***: Patients with myopia, among whom 122cases(244 eyes) were Mongolian and 150 cases(300eyes) were Han, were selected. Pentacam was used to measure the corneal curvature, whereas CCT was determined by Pentacam, Orbscan and ultrasound ***: Comparisons of the curvature of men and women in Mongolia showed a significant difference(P <0.05) by comparing of the CCT values measured by three methods in Han and Mongolian in Inner Mongolia, we can draw a conclusion that the CCT values measured by Pentacam are less than the values by Orbscan and ultrasound pachymetry, and there are statistically significant difference in CCT measurement among the instruments except between the Orbscan and ultrasound pachymetry. The CCT values of Mongolians are more than Han people, and the analysis exhibited statistical significance. The CCT values measured by Orbscan in Mongolia of women are more than men, the difference showed statistical ***: Corneal curvature in Mongolian females was significantly higher than that in males. However, no significant difference was observed among Han males and females. The CCT values of Mongolian females were higher than those of males. The normal CCT values measured by Pentacam in Mongolian myopic patients were smaller than those obtained by Orbscan or ultrasound. The normal CCT values of Mongolian patients with myopia were higher than those reported for domestic people.

Influence of transient intraocular pressure elevation during laser in situ keratomileusis on rabbit retina thickness

AIMTo utilize tissue micro measurement to study the effect of transient high intraocular pressure (IOP) induced by different durations of suction during laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) on rabbit retina *** healthy New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into a control group, and 3 negative-pressure suction groups (20s group, 45s group, and 3min group) and each group was comprised of 15 rabbits (30 eyes); the latter 3 groups were the transient high IOP models. The retinal tissue around the papilledema was separated. Hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining was carried out to generate slices for light microscopy. The changes in the retina thickness values of each layer were measured for all animals in each group at different postoperative recovery periods and compared with the values recorded for the animals in the control group. The thickness of the retinal tissue showed a normal distribution. The ANOVA was performed by using SPSS13.0 statistic *** the comparison between the 20s and 45s negative-pressure suction groups and the control group, no significant differences were observed, except at 14d. Significant difference was observed between the 3min negative-pressure suction group and the control group, and the retina thickness value of each layer reached a peak at 14d after *** negative suction during LASIK may not lead to significant changes in retinal tissue thickness; however, if the suction duration is increased to 3min, it will cause significant changes in retinal tissue thickness.

Molecular dynamics simulations of helium transport through inorganic mineral nanopores

Helium transport through nanoscale inorganic mineral pores and pore throats is essential for its overall *** elucidate helium's transport dynamics within nanopores,we employed equilibrium and non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations to investigate helium's static self-diffusion and pressure-driven flow in quartz slit-shaped *** also introduced water and various gases,including hydrogen,methane,ethane,nitrogen,and carbon dioxide,into the nanopores to assess their influence on helium *** findings indicate minimal helium adsorption on quartz pore *** conditions where the pore size is less than 5 nm and the pressure under 10 MPa,environmental factors markedly influence helium *** pore sizes,high temperatures,and low gas pressures enhance helium desorption and facilitate faster *** observed a positive correlation between helium flow velocity and factors such as pore size,pressure gradient,and surface smoothness of the ***,the presence of pore water and carrier gases in quartz nanopores,which diffuse more slowly than helium,tends to reduce helium surface adsorption and slow its *** the carrier gases studied,nitrogen showed similar adsorption capacity,diffusivity,and stability to helium,while carbon dioxide displayed the highest adsorption capacity and the slowest diffusion rate,markedly differing from *** on the simulation results,we concluded that water and carrier gases primarily function as transport mediums in helium migration,moving together with ***,which shares similar properties with helium,effectively assists in this co-migration ***,carbon dioxide,due to its high adsorption capacity and slow diffusion,tends to be lost during *** a result,gas reservoirs with high nitrogen levels and low carbon dioxide levels are more likely to have higher helium ***,the smaller pore sizes and higher gas pressures in caproc

Dear Editor,This letter proposes a deep synchronization control(DSC) method to synchronize grid-forming converters with power grids. The method involves constructing a novel controller for grid-forming converters based on the stable deep dynamics model. To enhance the performance of the controller, the dynamics model is optimized within the deep reinforcement learning(DRL) framework. Simulation results verify that the proposed method can reduce frequency deviation and improve active power responses.

Hydrochemistry Predominantly Shapes the Unique Nitrogen-Fixing Bacterial Communities in Tibetan Hot Springs

The Tibetan Plateau has a large number of hot springs with varying temperatures and hydrochemistry,high elevation,and limited nitrogenous ***-fixing bacteria(NFB)can fix N_(2)to form ammonia and thus provide bioavailable ***,there is limited knowledge about the distribution of NFB and its influencing factors in Tibetan hot ***,we measured hydrochemical variables of the hot springs with a wide temperature range(32–77°C)in the Qucai and Daggyai geothermal zones on the Tibetan Plateau and investigated the composition of NFB using high-throughput sequencing of 16SrRNA and nif H *** Cl^(-)/SO_(4)^(2-)ratio in Qucai hot springs was higher than that in Daggyai,indicating that Qucai and Daggyai hot springs were more affected by the supply of liquid and gaseous phases,*** NFB communities consisted predominantly of Nirtospirae,Chloroflexi,Deltaproteobacteria and an unidentified clade,with the last three acting as the main NFB with over 42%of the communities(the proportions are significantly larger than those found in hot springs of other geothermal regions).This demonstrates the uniqueness of NFB communities in Tibetan hot *** richness was limited by temperature in the studied Tibetan hot springs and was significantly lower than in low-elevation geothermal *** NFB community was predominantly affected by hydrochemistry,in contrast to the entire prokaryotic community,which was primarily influenced by *** study expands our current understanding of NFB distribution and diversity as well as biogeochemical process in geothermal spring environments.
