The subject of“atmospheric radiation”includes not only fundamental theories on atmospheric gaseous absorption and the scattering and radiative transfer of particles(molecules,cloud,and aerosols),but also their applications in weather,climate,and atmospheric remote sensing,and is an essential part of the atmospheric *** review includes two parts(Part I and PartⅡ);following the first part on gaseous absorption and particle scattering,this part(PartⅡ)reports the progress that has been made in radiative transfer theories,models,and their common applications,focusing particularly on the contributions from Chinese *** recent achievements on radiative transfer models and methods developed for weather and climate studies and for atmospheric remote sensing are firstly ***,the associated applications,such as surface radiation estimation,satellite remote sensing algorithms,radiative parameterization for climate models,and radiative-forcing related climate change studies are summarized,which further reveals the importance of radiative transfer theories and models.

Products of carbothermic reduction of Fe-Cr-O and Fe-Cr-Ni-O systems

The reduction behaviors and characteristics of products of the Fe-Cr-O system （FeCr2O4 and Fe2O3＋Cr2O3） and Fe-Cr-Ni-O system （Fe2O3＋Cr2O3＋NiO） under various conditions were studied. The results show that more Fe-Cr or Fe-Cr-Ni solution and less residual carbon content were obtained at higher temperatures and lower initial molar ratio of C to O （nC：nO）. The degree of reduction was highly dependent on both time and temperature, and the residual carbon content greatly increased with increasing nC：nO at each temperature. The products generated during the carbothermic reduction of the Fe-Cr-O system were examined using X-ray diffraction （XRD）. A scanning electron microscope （SEM） coupled with energy dispersive spectrometer was used to observe the microstructure and the distribution of elements in the various phases of the final reduction products of the Fe-Cr-O and Fe-Cr-Ni-O.

Kernel development plays an important role in determining kernel size in *** we present the cloning and characterization of a maize gene,nitrate transporter1.5(NRT1.5),which controls small kernel phenotype by playing an important role in kernel development.A novel recessive small kernel mutant miniature2-m1(mn2-m1)was isolated from self-pollinated progenies of breeding *** mutant spontaneously showed small kernel character arresting both embryo and endosperm development at an early stage after *** 21 polymorphic SSR markers,the mn2-m1 locus was limited to a 209.9-kb interval using 9176 recessive individuals of a BC1 segregating population from mn2-m1/*** one annotated gene was located in this 209.9 kb region,Zm00001 d019294,which was predicted to encode nitrate transporter1.5(NRT1.5).Allelism tests confirmed that mn2-m1 was allelic to miniature2-m2(mn2-m2)and miniature2-710 B(mn2-710 B).The mn2-m1 and mn2-m2 alleles both had nucleotide deletions in the coding region resulting in premature termination,and the mn2-710 B allele had some missence *** localization showed that Miniature 2(MN2)is localized in the plasma *** real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)analysis revealed that the expression of MN2 and some genes involved in the basal endosperm transfer layer(BETL)and embryo surrounding region(ESR)development were affected in mn2-m1 *** results suggested that MN2 plays an important role in maize seed development.

研究了不同温度和不同时间条件下C还原Fe--Cr--O体系所得产物的形态,样品主要包括FeCr2O4+C和Fe2O3+2Cr2O3+C两种体系.两种样品的还原度均随温度升高而升高,反应接近平衡时还原率均在90%以上.C还原FeCr2O4和Fe2O3--Cr2O3的过程大致相同,且最终还原产物基本组成均为Fe--Cr--C合金和金属碳化物(主要为Cr7C3).针对最终还原产物中Fe--Cr--C合金和金属碳化物的含量提出了一种估算方法,其估算结果与理论计算结果基本吻合.结果显示,最终产物中Fe--Cr--C合金量随温度升高而升高,碳化物含量随温度升高而降低,且不同温度条件下所获得的Fe--Cr--C合金成分不同.

BACKGROUND Giant congenital biliary dilation(CBD)is a rare condition observed in clinical *** born with this condition often experience a poor overall health status,and the disease progresses rapidly,leading to severe biliary obstruction,infections,pressure exerted by the enlarged CBD on abdominal organs,disturbances in the internal environment,and multiple organ *** treatment of giant CBD using laparoscopy is challenging due to the high degree of variation in the shape of the bile duct and other organs,making it difficult to separate the bile duct wall from adjacent tissues or to control *** SUMMARY Herein,we present the details of an 11-d-old male newborn who was diagnosed with giant *** patient was admitted to the neonatal surgery department of our hospital due to a history of common bile duct cyst that was detected more than 3 mo ago,and also because the patient had been experiencing yellowish skin for the past 9 *** abnormal echo in the fetal abdomen was first noticed by the patient’s mother during a routine ultrasound examination at a local hospital,when the patient was at 24 wk+6 d of *** finding raised concerns about the possibility of congenital biliary dilatation(22 mm×21 mm).Subsequent ultrasound examinations at different hospitals consistently confirmed the presence of a congenital biliary *** specific treatment was administered for biliary dilatation during this period.A computed tomography scan conducted during the hospitalization revealed a large cystic mass in the right upper quadrant and pelvis,measuring approximately 9.2 cm×7.4 cm×11.3 *** on the CONCLUSION The analysis reveals that prenatal imaging techniques,such as ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging,play a crucial role in the early diagnosis,fetal prognosis,and treatment plan for giant *** surgery for giant CBD presents certain challenges,including difficulties in separating the cyst wall,anastomosis,and hemos

Genetic encoding of photocaged noncanonical amino acids provides a powerful tool to study protein functions through optical control but is not yet available for acidic amino ***,we report the first site-specific genetic encoding of a photocaged glutamate,4-methoxy-7-nitroindolinyl caged glutamate(MNI-Glu),into recombinant proteins via an expanded genetic code through evolved EcLeuRS/tRNA *** two enzymes as examples,we demonstrate that substituting the conserved-active-site glutamate of a secreted alkaline phosphatase and a protease HRV3C to MNI-Glu allows photoregulatory control of their enzymatic *** approach is an important addition to the photocaged noncanonical amino-acid toolbox and provides a general method to photocontrol protein activity based on caging a critical glutamate.

In history,semiconductor-metal-semiconductor transistor(SMST)was proposed for frequency ***,a general fabrication method is still missing due to the unsolved technological problem of deposition of a general crystalline semiconductor on metal,and a thinner metal base is also difficult to be fabricated with high ***,due to the atomic thickness of graphene,the concept of semiconductor-graphene-semiconductor transistor(SGST)has emerged which leads to the renaissance of SMST,however the experimental study is in its *** this letter,SMST and SGST are fabricated using Si membrane *** is found the common base current gain can be improved from about 0.5%in a Si-Au-Si transistor to about 1%in a Si-Gr-Ge one,and to above 10%in a Si-Gr-Si one,which is attributed to both the ultra-thin thickness and the quantum capacitance effect of graphene.

Sound Velocity in Water and Ice up to 4.2 GPa and 500 K on Multi-Anvil Apparatus

A new assembly for ultrasonic measurements of water and ice on multi-anvil apparatus has been designed, and the ultrasonic compressional wave velocities in water and ice up to 4.2 GPa and 500 K are achieved. The pressure of the sample is calibrated by the melting curve of ice VII and the transformation pressure of liquid to solid at ambient temperature. The continuous changing process of the sound velocity transforming from water into ice at high pressure is achieved, and the experimental results of sound velocities at high pressure at room temperature on the melting curve of water are consistent with the previous works by Brillouin scattering. It is believed that our new method of ultrasonic measurements of water is reliable, and worth being used for studying more liquids at high pressure.

Effect of Deep Sea Pressures on the Corrosion Behavior of X65 Steel in the Artificial Seawater

The corrosion behaviors of X65 steel in the artificial seawater at different hydrostatic pressures are investigated by potentiodynamic polarization measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements and weight loss *** corroded morphologies and the corrosion products are also investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis and Raman *** results show that the corrosion current increases as the hydrostatic pressure *** charge transfer resistance decreases as the hydrostatic pressure *** corrosion products are mainly composed of γ-FeOOH and Fe3O4 at the atmospheric pressure, while the main components are γ-FeOOH, Fe3O4, and γ-Fe2O3 at the high *** hydrostatic pressure accelerates the corrosion of X65 steel due to its effect on the chemical and physical properties of corrosion products, including the promoted reduction of γ-FeOOH and the wider and deeper cracks on the corrosion products layer.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is a major histological subtype of esophageal cancer with a poor *** several serum metabolomic investigations have been reported,ESCC tumor-associated metabolic alterations and predictive biomarkers in sera have not been ***,we enrolled 34 treatment-naive patients with ESCC and collected their pre-and post-esophagectomy sera together with the sera from 34 healthy volunteers for a metabolomic *** comprehensive analysis identified ESCC tumor-associated metabolic alterations as represented by a panel of 12 serum ***,postoperative abrosia and parenteral nutrition substantially perturbed the serum ***,we performed an examination using sera from carcinogen-induced mice at the dysplasia and ESCC stages and identified three ESCC tumor-associated metabolites conserved between mice and ***,among these metabolites,the level of pipecolic acid was observed to be progressively increased in mouse sera from dysplasia to cancerization,and it could be used to accurately discriminate between mice at the dysplasia stage and healthy control ***,this metabolite is essential for ESCC cells to restrain oxidative stress-induced DNA damage and cell proliferation ***,this study revealed a panel of 12 ESCC tumor-associated serum metabolites with potential for monitoring therapeutic efficacy and disease relapse,presented evidence for refining parenteral nutrition composition,and highlighted serum pipecolic acid as an attractive biomarker for predicting ESCC tumorigenesis.
