Research on denoising of joint detection signal of water quality with multi-parameter based on IEEMD

An improved ensemble empirical mode decomposition(IEEMD) is suggested to process water quality spectral signals in order to address the issue that noise interference makes it difficult to extract and evaluate water quality spectral *** algorithm effectively solves the problems of modal mixing,poor reconstruction accuracy in the empirical mode decomposition(EMD),and a large amount of calculation in the ensemble empirical mode decomposition(EEMD).Based on EEMD,IEEMD firstly preprocesses the original water quality spectral signals,then performs Savitzky-Golay(S-G) smoothing on the decomposed effective intrinsic mode function(IMF) components,and finally reconstructs them to obtain the denoised *** sample data at different concentrations can be accurately analyzed based on the noise-reduced spectral *** this paper,three water quality parameters are used as research objects:benzene(C_(6)H_(6)),benzo(b)fluoranthene(C_(20)H_(12)),and chemical oxygen demand(COD).The original water quality multi-parameter(C_(6)H_(6),C_(20)H_(12),COD) spectral signals were subjected to denoising based on the IEEMD and the water quality multi-parameter joint detection *** signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and the correlation coefficient(R^(2)) of the fitted curves obtained from the processing of the IEEMD were compared and analyzed with those obtained from the processing of the EMD and the *** experimental results show that the SNR of the spectral signals and the R^(2) of the fitting curve in three water quality parameters have been significantly ***,the IEEMD effectively improves the phenomenon of modal mixing,reduces the amount of calculation,improves the reconstruction accuracy,and provides an important guarantee for the effective extraction of multi-parameter spectral signals of water quality.

Green carbonization of waste coffee grounds into porous C/Fe hybrids for broadband and high-efficiency microwave absorption

Recently great effort s have been focused on designing high-performance microwave absorbers using sustainable biomass resources,but there remains a lack of green and efficient fabrication ***,inspired by natural porous character of biomass waste,we demonstrated a green one-step route to convert waste coffee grounds into porous C/Fe hybrids,and further explored their potential applications for broadband and high-efficiency microwave *** this design,the WCG-20-750(incorporated 20 wt%Fe(C_(5)H_(7)O_(2))_(3)catalyst and carbonized at 750℃)exhibited porous microstructure with the highest char yield of 55.45 wt%.Furthermore,the as-prepared C/Fe hybrids from WCG-20-750 displayed excellent microwave absorption ***,the minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))reached to-52.86 dB and the widest effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)was 6.40 GHz at the thickness of 3.0 *** work provides an economically viable and environmentally friendly strategy to convert biomass wastes into value-added microwave absorbers,ultimately making contributions to the upcycling of renewable biomass resources and the fostering of sustainable environment.

Simulation study on cuttings transport of the backreaming operation for long horizontal section wells

The backreaming operation plays a significant role in safe drilling for horizontal wellbores, while it may cause severe stuck pipe accidents. To lower the risk of the stuck pipe in backreaming operations, the mechanism of cuttings transport needs to be carefully investigated. In this research, a transient cuttings transport with multiple flow patterns model is developed to predict the evolution of cuttings transported in the annulus while backreaming. The established model can provide predictions of the distribution of cuttings bed along the wellbore considering the bulldozer effect caused by large-size drilling tools(LSDTs). The sensitivity analyses of the size of LSDTs, and backreaming operating parameters are conducted in Section 4. And a new theory is proposed to explain the mechanism of cuttings transport in the backreaming operation, in which both the bit and LSDTs have the “cleaning effect” and “plugging effect”.The results demonstrate that the cuttings bed in annuli is in a state of dynamic equilibrium, but the overall trend and the distribution pattern are obvious. First, larger diameters and longer drilling tools could lead to a higher risk of the stuck pipe. Second, we find that it is not the case that the higher flow rate is always better for hole cleaning, so three flow-rate intervals are discussed separately under the given conditions. When the “dangerous flow rate”(35 L/s in Case 4),the higher the flow rate, the better the cleaning effect of cuttings beds. One-pot and One-step Cu(0)-mediated Reversible-Deactivation Radical Polymerization of N-Isopropylacrylamide(NIPAM) in Water

Copper(0)-mediated reversible-deactivation radical polymerization(Cu(0)-mediated RDRP) of the water-soluble monomer Nisopropylacrylamide(NIPAM) has been challenging with the problems of high dispersity, poor control over the molecular weights(MWs) or complex or multi reaction steps, etc. In this work, we report the well-controlled polymerization of NIPAM in water via a facile one-pot and one-step Cu(0)-mediated RDRP. The results of this approach show that the key for kicking off the Cu(0)-mediated NIPAM RDRPs is to ensure sufficient Cu~I at the very beginning, and the key to achieve a well-controlled chain growth is to provide adequate deactivation strength during the polymerization process. For NIPAM, which has a high propagation rate constant, the deactivation control can be effectively enhanced by extra adding deactivator(i.e., Cu~II) to the system. Moreover, a low reaction temperature(4 ℃) is necessary in the controlled synthesis of higher MW poly(Nisopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM) to avoid the compromise in control caused by the phase transition from its lower critical solution temperature(LCST). Through this new kinetically controlled strategy, PNIPAMs with well-defined structure, narrow molecular weight distributions(MWDs) and varied MWs were successfully achieved.

Structural Dependence Learning Based on Self-attention for Face Alignment

Self-attention aggregates similar feature information to enhance the features. However, the attention covers nonface areas in face alignment, which may be disturbed in challenging cases, such as occlusions, and fails to predict landmarks. In addition, the learned feature similarity variance is not large enough in the experiment. To this end, we propose structural dependence learning based on self-attention for face alignment (SSFA). It limits the self-attention learning to the facial range and adaptively builds the significant landmark structure dependency. Compared with other state-of-the-art methods, SSFA effectively improves the performance on several standard facial landmark detection benchmarks and adapts more in challenging cases.
