Objective:This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the epidemiology of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to COVID-19 in ***:This study was conducted by 45 tertiary Grade-A hospitals in *** and offline questionnaire data were obtained from patients infected with COVID-19 between December 28,2022,and February 21,*** collected information included basic demographics,medical history,smoking and drinking history,vaccination history,changes in olfactory and gustatory functions before and after infection,and other postinfection symptoms,as well as the duration and improvement status of olfactory and gustatory ***:Complete questionnaires were obtained from 35,566 *** overall incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunction was 67.75%.Being female or being a cigarette smoker increased the likelihood of developing olfactory and taste *** received four doses of the vaccine or having good oral health or being a alcohol drinker decreased the risk of such *** infection,the average olfactory and taste VAS scores were 8.41 and 8.51,respectively;after infection,they decreased to 3.69 and 4.29 and recovered to 5.83 and 6.55 by the time of the *** median duration of dysosmia and dysgeusia was 15 and 12 days,respectively,with 0.5%of patients having symptoms lasting for more than 28 *** overall self-reported improvement rate was 59.16%.Recovery was higher in males,never smokers,those who received two or three vaccine doses,and those that had never experienced dental health issues,or chronic accompanying ***:The incidence of dysosmia and dysgeusia following infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is high in *** and prognosis are influenced by several factors,including sex,SARS-CoV-2 vaccination,history of head-facial trauma,nasal and oral health status,smoking and drinking history,and the persistence of accompanying symptoms.

Symbolic execution is an effective way of systematically exploring the search space of a program,and is often used for automatic software testing and bug *** program to be analyzed is usually compiled into a binary or an intermediate representation,on which symbolic execution is carried *** this process,compiler optimizations influence the effectiveness and efficiency of symbolic ***,to the best of our knowledge,there exists no work on compiler optimization recommendation for symbolic execution with respect to(w.r.t.)modified condition/decision coverage(MC/DC),which is an important testing coverage criterion widely used for mission-critical *** study describes our use of a state-of-the-art symbolic execution tool to carry out extensive experiments to study the impact of compiler optimizations on symbolic execution ***/*** results indicate that instruction combining(IC)optimization is the important and dominant optimization for symbolic execution ***/*** designed and implemented a support vector machine based optimization recommendation method ***(denoted as auto).The experiments on two standard benchmarks(Coreutils and NECLA)showed that auto achieves the best MC/DC on 67.47%of Coreutils programs and 78.26%of NECLA programs.

Androgen actions on endothelium functions and cardiovascular diseases

The roles of androgens on cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology are controversial as both beneficial and detrimental effects have been reported. Although the reasons for this discrepancy are unclear, multiple factors such as genetic and epigenetic variation, sex-specificity, hormone interactions, drug preparation and route of administration may contribute. Recently, growing evidence suggests that androgens exhibit beneficial effects on cardiovascular function though the mechanism remains to be elucidated. Endothelial cells （ECs） which line the interior surface of blood vessels are distributed throughout the circulatory system, and play a crucial role in cardiovascular function. Endothelial progenitor cells （EPCs） are considered an indispensable element for the reconstitution and maintenance of an intact endothelial layer. Endothelial dysfunction is regarded as an initiating step in development of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. The modulation of endothelial functions by androgens through either genornic or nongenomic signal pathways is one possible mechanism by which androgens act on the cardiovascular system. Obtaining insight into the mechanisms by which androgens affect EC and EPC functions will allow us to determine whether androgens possess beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system. This in turn may be critical in the prevention and therapy of cardiovascular diseases. This article seeks to review recent progress in androgen regulation of endothelial function, the sex-specificity of androgen actions, and its clinical applications in the cardiovascular system.

Catheter ablation has been an established strategy for treating paroxysmal atrial fibrillation （AF）.Pulmonaryvein isolation is the predominant approach of catheter ablation. This procedure is characterized as transseptal catheterization and point-by-point ablation around the ipsilateral pulmonary veins （PVs）. Although catheter ablation can be safely performed in a heart with normal structures, it may be challenging to be performed in a dextrocardia.

Elevated Arsenic Exposure Is Associated with an Increased Risk of Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection： NHANES （2003-2014） in U.S. Adults

Studies concerning the association between arsenic exposure and hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection have been lacking. The present study aimed to examine the association between total urinary arsenic （TUA） and infection ofHBV. A total of 5186 participants from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey （NHANES） 2003-2014 were included in the analysis. We used logistic regression to evaluate the association. We defined two measures of TUA. TUA1 was the sum of arsenous acid, arsenicacid, monomethylarsonic acid and dimethylarsenic acid. TUA2 was defined as TUA minus arsenobetaine and arsenocholine. The results showed that the weighted overall prevalence of HBV infection was 6.08%. For NHANES 2003-2014, the medians （interquartile range） of TUA1 and TUA2 were 5.60 μg/L （3.97-8.09 μg/L） and 4.91 μg/L （2.36-9.11 μg/L）, respectively. Comparing the highest quartile to the lowest quartile after multivariable adjustment showed that the odds ratios （ORs） and 95% confidence intervals （CIs） for TUA1 and TUA2 were 2.44 （1.40-4.27） and 2.84 （1.60-5.05）, respectively. In conclusion, elevated urinary arsenic was associated with the risk of HBV infection. Further studies, especially prospective studies, are needed to confirm the causal relationship between arsenic exposure and HBV infection.

Transvenous embolization of cavernous dural arteriovenous fistula:report of 28 cases

Background Usually, cavernous dural arteriovenous fistula can be treated via transarterial approaches. However, in many complicated patients, transvenous approaches are superior to the transarterial ones because of the difficulties during a transarterial operation. In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the outcomes of 28 patients with cavernous dural arteriovenous fistula treated by transvenous embolization. Methods From September 2001 to December 2005, 28 patients with 31 cavernous dural arteriovenous fistulae were treated with transvenous embolization in Beijing Tiantan Hospital. The involved cavernous sinuses were catheterized via the femoral vein-inferior petrosal sinus approach or the femoral-facial-superior ophthalmic vein approach, and embolized with coils （GDC, EDC, Matrix, Orbit or free coil） or coils plus silk. The patients were followed up for 3 to 26 months. Results All the 31 cavernous sinuses in the 28 patients were successfully embolized. Complete angiographic obliteration of the fistulae was achieved immediately in 25 patients. Residual shunting was observed in the other 3, who had drainage through the pterygoid plexus （2 patients） or the inferior petrosal sinus （1） after the operation. Headache and vomiting were the most common symptoms after the embolization. In 3 patients, who achieved complete angiographic obliteration immediately, the left oculomotor nerve palsy remained unchanged after the operation. Transient abducens nerve palsy was encountered in 1. In 1 patient, the occular symptoms were improved after the operation, but recurred 4 days later, and then disappeared spontaneously after 5 days. During the follow-up, no patient had recurrence. Three months after the operation, angiography was performed on the 3 patients with residual shunting. A novelγ-γ'(Ni solid solution—Ni_(3)Al)NiPtAl coating was produced on advanced single-crystal(SC)superalloy N5 by electroplating of a thin Pt coating with~3μm in thickness followed by heat treatment at 1000℃in *** comparison,a traditionalγ-γ'NiPtAl coating was also produced by electroplating of a thick Pt coating with~6μm in thickness followed by heat treatment at 1100℃in *** novel coating has a mass gain of~0.5 mg·cm^(-2)after 100 h 1-h cyclic oxidation at 1150℃,showing better oxidation resistance than the traditional *** oxide scale mostly consisting ofα-Al_(2)O_(3)grew on the novel coating because the element Cr from the SC alloy substrate contributes to the formation ofα-Al_(2)O_(3).Pt content in the novel coating has significant effect on the oxidation *** optimized Pt content in the coating is about 16 at%,which is helpful to reduce the diffusion of harmful elements from the substrate into the coating but also to reduce the cost of the coating.

Transvenous embolization with a combination of detachable coils and Onyx for a complicated cavernous dural arteriovenous fistula

Background Treatment of cavernous dural arteriovenous fistulas （DAVF） is usually made by a transarterial approach. However, in many complicated patients, treatments via transarterial approaches can not be achieved, and only an operation via a transvenous approach is feasible. We aimed to study the feasibility of transarterial embolization of cavernous dural arteriovenous fistulas with a combination detachable coils and Onyx to embolize a complicated cavernous DAVF via a transvenous approach. Methods From August 2006 to August 2007, six cases of complicated cavernous DAVF were embolized with a combination of detachable coils and Onyx via a transvenous approach. Three cases were male and the other three were female. Their ages ranged from 36 to 69 years old. The fistula was in the right lateral cavernous sinus in one case, in the left lateral cavernous sinus in another, and in the bilateral cavernous sinus in 4 cases. One fistula was fed by the right internal carotid artery and its meningohypophyseal trunk; one was fed by the branches of the left internal carotid artery and left external carotid artery; four were fed by the branches of the bilateral internal carotid artery and/or the bilateral external carotid artery. One case was drained via one lateral inferior petrosal sinus; three were drained via bilateral inferior petrosal sinuses; one was drained via one lateral ophthalmic and facial veins; one was drained via the inferior petrosal sinus and the ophthalmic and facial veins. Four were embolized via the inferior petrosal sinus, and two were embolized via the ophthalmic and facial veins. Results Among six cases of complicated cavernous DAVF, four were fully embolized with Onyx by a single operation, and two cases were fully embolized with Onyx following two operations. Environmental characteristics of trace metals in seawater from the Ninety East Ridge in the Indian Ocean

The Ninety East Ridge in the Indian Ocean has complex and unique *** concentrations and distribution characteristics of 10 trace metals(V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Cd,Pb,and U)in seawater from the Ninety East Ridge in the Indian Ocean were *** show that the average concentrations of different trace metals in all the collected seawater samples were 1.134μg/L for V,0.158μg/L for Cr,0.489μg/L for Mn,0.427μg/L for Fe,0.011μg/L for Co,0.395μg/L for Ni,0.403μg/L for Cu,0.097μg/L for Cd,0.139μg/L for Pb,and 3.470μg/L for *** in the horizontal and vertical distributions of all measured trace metals were revealed,and the occurrence of high concentrations was *** addition,the significant differences in the concentration distribution of different trace metals in seawater on both sides of the Ninety East Ridge present regional segmentation in the area for various trace metals in deep sea *** study provided basic data for future investigations on the environmental and ecological impact of trace metals in the Indian Ocean and the potential water mass transport mechanism.
