AIMS To determine the clinical significance of P53 protein ex-pression in colorectal *** The expression of P53 protein in 92 colorectal car-cinomas was examined using the monoclonal antibody PAb *** between P53 protein expression and prognosis in col-orectal carcinoma was analyzed using log-rank *** The frequency of P53 protein expression was 57.61%,corresponding with Dukes’ *** of survivordata demonstrated that the survival rate of colorectal carcinomawith positive P53 protein group was lower than that of negativeP53 protein *** We conclude that the expression of P53 pro-tein is correlated with poor prognosis in colorectal carcinoma.

Backgroud:Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a neurodegenerative disorder with an increasing global ***,the development of drugs for PD treatment has not kept pace with the continuously growing number of ***,the search for new effective substances from natural drugs is a major research *** Chinese medicinal materials,Saposhnikoviae Radix(Fangfeng)and Chuanxiong Rhizoma(Chuanxiong),are commonly used in the treatment of PD in ***,the mechanism of their combination is not clear,and further research is ***:data were collected from publicly available databases:TCMSP,UnitProt,GeneCards OMIM,PharmGKB,Therapeutic Target database and *** pharmacology and molecular docking methods was used to analyze the data to discover the possible pharmacological effects of the two drugs in the treatment of ***:Beta-sitosterol,Mandenol and Wallichilide were the active components of Saposhnikoviae Radix and Chuanxiong Rhizoma(FC),and they stably bonded with PD targets,including PTGS2,CASP3,AKT1 and *** target genes of FC were significantly enriched in PD-associated pathways,including calcium signaling and apoptosis ***,the study revealed that the active components of FC may affect cellular structures,such as membrane rafts,membrane microdomains,membrane regions,and postsynaptic membranes,which,in turn,affect a variety of molecular functions and biological ***:The results of this study indicate the direction for clarifying the pharmacodynamic substances of FC,the extraction method of pharmacodynamic substances,as well as the mechanism and efficacy of pharmacodynamic ***,this study provides a strategy for developing new therapeutic drugs for PD.

Thalidomide inducesγ-globin expression in erythroid progenitor cells,but its efficacy on patients with transfusion-dependentβ-thalassemia(TDT)remains *** this phase 2,multi-center,randomized,double-blind clinical trial,we aimed to determine the safety and efficacy of thalidomide in TDT patients.A hundred patients of 14 years or older were randomly assigned to receive placebo or thalidomide for 12 weeks,followed by an extension phase of at least 36 *** primary endpoint was the change of hemoglobin(Hb)level in the *** secondary endpoints included the red blood cell(RBC)units transfused and adverse *** the placebo-controlled period,Hb concentrations in patients treated with thalidomide achieved a median elevation of 14.0(range,2.5 to 37.5)g/L,whereas Hb in patients treated with placebo did not significantly *** the 12 weeks,the mean RBC transfusion volume for patients treated with thalidomide and placebo was 5.4±5.0 U and 10.3±6.4 U,respectively(P<0.001).Adverse events of drowsiness,dizziness,fatigue,pyrexia,sore throat,and rash were more common with thalidomide than *** the extension phase,treatment with thalidomide for 24 weeks resulted in a sustainable increase in Hb concentrations which reached 104.9±19.0 g/L,without blood *** increase in Hb concentration and reduction in RBC transfusions were associated with nonβ0/β0 and HBS1L-MYB(rs9399137 C/T,C/C;rs4895441 A/G,G/G)*** results demonstrated that thalidomide is effective in patients with TDT.

Aim： To investigate the antitumor immunity by a dendritic cell （DC） vaccine encoding secondary lymphoid chemokine gene and tumor lysate on murine prostate cancer. Methods： DC from bone marrow of C57BL/6 were transfected with a plasmid vector expressing secondary lymphoid chemokine （SLC） cDNA by Lipofectamine2000 liposome and tumor lysate. Total RNA extracted from SLC＋lysate-DC was used to verify the expression of SLC by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）. The immunotherapeutic effect of DC vaccine on murine prostate cancer was assessed. Results： We found that in the prostate tumor model of C57BL/6 mice, the adminstration of SLC＋lysate-DC inhibited tumor growth most significantly when compared with SLC-DC, lysate-DC, DC or phos- phate buffer solution （PBS） counterparts （P 〈 0.01）. Immunohistochemical fluorescent staining analysis showed the infiltration of more CD4＋, CD8＋ T cell and CD11c＋ DC within established tumor treated by SLC＋lysate-DC vaccine than other DC vaccines （P 〈 0.01）. Conclusion： DC vaccine encoding secondary lymphoid chemokine and tumor lysate can elicit significant antitumor immunity by infiltration of CD4＋, CD8＋ T cell and DC, which might provide a potential immunotherapy method for prostate cancer.

On August 1-2, China and the United States held a strategic dialogue. This is in fact the first mechanized strategic dialogue between China and America. Both sides decided to hold such a dialogue alternatively in each other＇s capital twice a year. The significance of the first comprehensive and mechanized senior dialogue between the two sides to discuss strategic issues of common interest cannot be underestimated. Therefore, it was an event that attracted worldwide attention.

The interaction mechanism between sodium arsenate and fayalite-type copper slag at 1200℃was investigated through XRD,XPS,HRTEM,TCLP and other technical means and *** results indicated that the proportions of sodium arsenate in the slag and flue gas phases were approximately 30%and 70%,*** addition of sodium arsenate depolymerized the fayalite structure and changed it from a crystalline state to an amorphous *** fayalite structural changes indicated that the[AsO_(4)]tetrahedron in sodium arsenate combined with the[SiO_(4)]tetrahedron and[FeO_(4)]tetrahedron through bridging oxygen to form a silicate glass *** TCLP test results of the samples before and after the high temperature reaction of fayalite and sodium arsenate showed that after high temperature reaction,fayalite could effectively reduce the leaching toxicity of sodium arsenate,reducing the leaching concentration of arsenic from 3025.52 to 12.8 mg/L before and after reaction,respectively.

Background The lowering of body temperature is a common, almost reflexive step in the daily care of septic shock patient. However, the effect of different magnitudes of fever control on the outcome of refractory septic patients with a very poor outcome is controversial and has yet to be explored. Methods This prospective trial examined sixty-five refractory septic shock patients with a core temperature higher than 38.5℃. Patients were randomly assigned to a group achieving a ＂low temperature＂ range （LT group： 36.0-37.5 ℃） or to a group achieving a ＂high temperature＂ range （HT group： 37.5-38.3 ℃） by physical methods including a water-flow cooling blanket and ice packs. A target core temperature was achieved in 1-2 hours post-treatment, and maintained for 72 hours. Averaged values of core temperature as well as hemodynamic, respiratory, and laboratory variables were analyzed at baseline and during the first 72 hours after fever control. Results Thirty-four （52.31%） patients were assigned to the LT group and thirty-one （47.69%） patients were assigned to the HT group. The mean core temperature was significantly lower in the LT group than in the HT group （36.61 vs. 37.85 ℃, respectively; P 〈 0.0001）. The average heart rate （HR）（75.5 vs. 91.9 beats/min, respectively; P 〈 0.0001） and the mean cardiac output （CO）（5.35 vs. 6.45 L/min, respectively; P = 0.002） were also statistically significant lower in the LT group than in the HT group. The averaged serum lactate level was significantly higher in the LT group compared to the HT group （5.59 vs. 2.82 mmol/L, respectively; P=0.008）. Fibrinogen and activated partial thromboplatin time were also different between the two groups. The 28 days mortality was significantly higher in the LT group than in the HT group （61.8 vs. 25.8%, respectively; P=0.003）. A Cox-regression model analysis showed that mean core temperature during the 72 h period was an independent predictor of 28 days mortality （odds ratio （OR） = 0.42, 95%C/0.25, 0.6
