To extend the practical application of biomass upgrading conversion to liquid fuel,it is crucial to develop highly catalytic and reversible nonprecious metal ***,we propose a high-throughput density functional theory（DFT） approach to design a high-efficiency catalyst for the selective electrocatalytic upgrading of vanillin via hydrodeoxygenation（HDO）.The optimal pyridinic and pyrrolic nitrogen carbon transition metal（TM）-based monolayers exhibit excellent activity for producing2-methoxy-4-methylphenol（MMP） from *** pyridinic and pyrrolic nitrogen carbon substrates can provide unique sites to support TM atoms,and TM-pyridinic or pyrrolic N moieties serve as catalytic activity sites for the electrocatalytic upgrading of *** DFT calculations suggest that the pyridinic N@TM（TM=Zr,Ru,Rh,Os and Ir） and pyrrolic N@TM（TM=Rh and Os）catalysts possess high activity for MMP synthesized from vanillin,and they have a relatively small limiting potential（UL） of the rate-determining step.A new route reaction path was used to explore the activity of metal nitrogendoped carbon catalysts,finding that a single metal atom through strong electron correlation between metal and N4C8sites can improve the activity of the vanillin HDO *** results show that pyridinic N@Ir and pyrrolic N@Rh with limiting potential（UL） of 0.04 and 0.29 V are the most preferable candidate catalysts for the vanillin HDO *** high stability and relatively low |UL| for vanillin electrocatalytic upgrading are the best candidate *** work proposes new ideas for designing and developing novel catalysts for selective HDO of biomass under real conditions.

Manganese phosphates have shown excellent performances and great potential in electrochemical energy storage,which are demonstrated by research works published in recent *** manganese phosphates,the open-framework structures with large channels and cavities endow them with good ion conductivity and charge storage *** this review,we present the recent progress on manganese phosphates,by focusing on their advantages/disadvantages and potential applications as a new class of electrode materials in *** structural characteristics,synthesis methods,and mineral sources to prepare these manganese phosphates are investigated,together with the modification,as they strongly affect the electrochemical energy storage *** are paid to those hybrid-type materials,where strong synergistic effects *** the summary,interlayer engineering for the manganese phosphates and hybrid-types are proposed and discussed.

The lattice expansion caused by the reduction of Ce(Ⅳ)to Ce(Ⅲ)impeded the development of the CeO_(2)as an effective electrode material for electrochemical ***,we prepared CeO_(2)-clay composites through a one-step hydrothermal *** interlayer structures of clays efficiently accommodate volume changes induced by crystal lattice expansion to achieve ultra-long cycle *** 60000 charge-discharge cycles,the capacitance retention rate of the assembled asymmetric supercapacitors is as high as~-100%.The key findings of this work reveal the potential application of clays in achieving ultralong cycle stability of the CeO_(2)electrode material,paving the way for further application of the CeO_(2)in electrochemical energy storage.

We calculate the Langevin noise sources of self-pulsation laser diodes,analyze the effects of active region noise and saturable-absorption region noise on the power fluctuation as well as period fluctuation,and propose a novel method to restrain the noise effects. A visible SIMULINK model is established to simulate the system,the results indicate that the effects of noise in absorption region can be ignored;that with the increase of DC injecting current,the noise effects enhance power jitter,and nevertheless,the period jitter is decreased;and that with external sinusoidal current modulating the self-pulsation laser diode,the noise-induced power jitter and period jitter can be suppressed greatly. This work is valuable for clock recovery in all-optical network.

AIM To reveal the inhibitory effects ofCurcuma aromatica oil(CAO)on cellproliferation of hepatoma in *** Two tumor inhibitory experimentsof CAO on hepatoma in mice were *** inhibitory effects of CAO on proliferation ofhepatoma in mice were evaluated by DNA imagecytometry and immunohistochemical staining ofproliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA).RESULTS The tumor inhibitory rates of CAOwere 52% and 51% in two experiments,*** with those of the saline-treated control groups,both differences werestatistically significant(P<0.01).In the groupof mice treated with CAO,the cellular nuclearDNA OD value(249±70),areas(623 μm^2±228 μm^2)and DNA(2.38±0.67)index of hepaticcarcinomas were significantly lower than thoseof the control group(430±160,1073 μm^2±101 μm^2 and 4.48±0.71).CAO also couldincrease diploidy cell rates(29.00%±9.34% vs2.97%±5.69%,P<0.01)and decreasepentaploidy cell exceeding rate(30.04%±15.10% vs 70.89%±14.94%,P<0.01).In thegroup of mice treated with CAO,the labelingindexes of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA-LI)were 30%±4%,which weresignificantly lower than 40%±6% of the controlgroup(P<0.01).CONCLUSION The inhibition of CAO on thegrowth of hepatoma in mice might be associatedwith its depression on cellular proliferativeactivity.

New insight into the effect on the alkali cations of Liþ,Naþ,and Kþpre-intercalated between adjacent layers of Mn3(PO4)2$3H2O towards the charge storage mechanism and their electrochemical kinetics of intercalation/deintercalation in three alkali electrolytes is *** electrochemical perfor-mance of the designed LieMn3(PO4)2$3H2O material outperforms that most of Mn-based pseudocapa-citive electrode *** designed unique stratified structure is attractive for quick charge migration,which confirms that the appropriate pre-intercalation of alkali cation between layers is an efficient strategy to improve kinetics for the high-power density pseudocapacitive supercapacitor energy storage application.

A macro-circuit equivalent model for ferroelectric liquid crystal （FLC） is proposed. The model includes both effects of ferroelectric toque and dielectric torque and is utilized to simulate the switching response and memory behavior of a single FLC cell . Simulation results show that the delay time has a minimum while increasing the amplitude of drive voltage and the amplitude of bipolar pulses should be controlled within a certain range to realize the memory behavior. Also the switching angle is successfully enhanced to the reference value of 22.5° by adopting ＂AC stabihzation＂ addressing method.

A flexible carbon fiber-confined yolk-shelled silicon-based composite is reported as an anode material for lithium storage *** nanoparticles(Si NPs)are confined by the N-doped hollow carbon cages(SiNHC)and these uniform dispersed yolk-shell-structured Si-NHC units were encapsulated by the carbon fibers within an interconnected three-dimensional(3D)framework(Si-NHC@CNFs).For the encapsulated yolkshelled Si-NHC,the void space between the inner Si NPs and outer NHC can accommodate the structural changes of Si NPs during charging/discharging processes,leading to effectively improved structural stability and cycling *** importantly,all the Si-NHC units were bridged together through a conductive CNFs"highway"to enhance the overall conductivity and tap density *** observed,Si-NHC@CNFs exhibited an initial discharge capacity of 1364.1 mAh·g^(-1)at 1000 mA·g^(-1)and678.9 mAh·g^(-1)at 2000 mA·g^(-1).Furthermore,the reversible capacity was well maintained at 752.2 mAh·g^(-1)at500 mA·g^(-1)after 6000 ultra-long cycles.

The catalytic performance of Pt-based catalysts depends sensitively on their d-band ***,there are still huge challenges to evaluate their d-band centers from experimental technologies,and modulate them to analyze their selectivity in ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR).Here,Pt1Au1alloy supported on the commercial carbon material(Pt_(1)Au_(1)/C)is employed as a typical example to investigate its d-band center shift of surface Pt,and as electrocatalysts to study its selectivity towards ***,a highly reliable in situ Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy CO-probe strategy is developed to characterize the d-band center shift of surface *** modified electronic effect and site effect of Pt_(1)Au_(1)/C dictated the adsorption configuration of intermediate species and the OH species coverage,thereby influencing its *** importantly,we developed a universal cyclic voltammetry peak differentiation fitting method as an electrochemical analysis technique to investigate CO_(2)selectivity,which is potentially extendable to other Pt-based electrocatalysts.
