Biosynthesized semiconductor quantum dots(QDs) have bright fluorescence,adjustable particle sizes,and environmental friendliness,endowing them with convenience and potential for biological *** to the unclear mechanism of the cellular environment on the live-cell synthesis of QDs,it is still difficult to regulate their optical ***,the critical role of the intracellular redox environment in regulating the fluorescence properties of biosynthesized CdSe QDs in Staphylococcus aureus(***) has been *** glutathione peroxidase(GPx) activity directly affects the intracellular H_(2.O_(2. produced in the SeO_(3)^(2.) reduction,which further manipulates the glutathione redox cycle to determine the content of low-valence *** a result,the fluorescence intensity of the synthesized CdSe QDs increases by 60% in the GPx overexpressed *** cellular redox potential that is controlled by the GSH redox cycle provides the driving force for the reduction of SeO_(3)^(2.),facilitating the synthesis of CdSe QDs in *** *** proposed mechanism of the cellular redox state provides a new perspective for regulating the synthesis of semiconductor nanomaterials in live cells.

Lactate is present at a high level in the microenvironment of mammalian preimplantation embryos in vivo and in vitro. However, its role in preimplantation development is unclear. Here, we report that lactate is highly enriched in the nuclei of early embryos when major zygotic genome activation(ZGA) occurs in humans and mice. The inhibition of its production and uptake results in developmental arrest at the 2.cell stage, major ZGA failure, and loss of lactate-derived H3K18lac, which could be rescued by the addition of Lac-Co A and recapitulated by overexpression of H3K18R mutation. By profiling the landscape of H3K18lac during mouse preimplantation development, we show that H3K18lac is enriched on the promoter regions of most major ZGA genes and correlates with their expressions. In humans, H3K18lac is also enriched in ZGA markers and temporally concomitant with their expressions. Taken together, we profile the landscapes of H3K18lac in mouse and human preimplantation embryos, and demonstrate the important role for H3K18lac in major ZGA, showing that a conserved metabolic mechanism underlies preimplantation development of mammalian embryos.

Over the past few decades,photocatalysis technology has received extensive attention because of its potential to mitigate or solve energy and environmental pollution *** novel materials with outstanding photocatalytic activities has become a research hotspot in this *** this study,we prepared a series of photocatalysts in which BiOCl nanosheets were modified with carbon quantum dots(CQDs)to form CQDs/BiOCl composites by using a simple solvothermal *** photocatalytic performance of the resulting CQDs/BiOCl composite photocatalysts was assessed by rhodamine B and tetracycline degradation under visible-light *** with bare BiOCl,the photocatalytic activity of the CQDs/BiOCl composites was significantly enhanced,and the 5 wt%CQDs/BiOCl composite exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity with a degradation efficiency of 94.5%after 30 min of ***,photocatalytic N_(2.reduction performance was significantly improved after introducing *** 5 wt%CQDs/BiOCl composite displayed the highest photocatalytic N_(2.reduction performance to yield NH_3(346.2.μmol/(g h)),which is significantly higher than those of 3 wt%CQDs/BiOCl(2.6.04μmol/(g h)),7 wt%CQDs/BiOCl(2.4.07μmol/(g h)),and bare BiOCl(2.0.19μmol/(g h)).Our systematic characterizations revealed that the key role of CQDs in improving photocatalytic performance is due to their increased light harvesting capacity,remarkable electron transfer ability,and higher photocatalytic activity sites.

A metamaterial vibration isolator,termed as wave-insulating isolator,is proposed,which preserves enough load-bearing capability and offers ultra-low and broad bandgaps for greatly enhanced wave *** consists of plate-shaped metacells,whose symmetric and antisymmetric local resonant modes offer several low and broad mode bandgaps although the complete bandgap remains high and *** bandgap mechanisms,vibration isolation properties,effects of key parameters,and robustness to complex conditions are *** experimentally demonstrated,the wave-insulating isolator can improve the vibration insulation in the ranges of[50 Hz,180 Hz]and[2.0 Hz,400 Hz]by 15 dB and 2. dB,respectively,in contrast to the conventional isolator with the same first resonant frequency.

Enhanced photothermal dehydration of methanol over W_(18)O_(49)/Au/SAPO-34 catalysts with broadened light absorption

Methanol-to-olefins(MTO)process is one of the most critical pathways to produce low carbon ***,the reaction is driven by thermal catalysis,which inevitably needs to consume large amounts of fossil *** a new technique to substitute for the fuel burning is urgent for MTO process to improve the industry prospects and ***,we report a novel W_(18)O_(49)/Au/SAPO-34(W/Au/S),a multifunctional photothermal catalyst for the MTO reaction.A high methanol conversion was achieved under xenonum(Xe)lamp irradiation,yielding methyl ether(ME)and ethylene as the main *** optimized W/Au/S catalysts showed ethylene yield as high as 2.0μmol in 60 min,which was 2.5 times higher than that of Au/*** physiochemical characterization revealed that the SAPO-34 molecular sieves were surrounded by Au and W_(18)O_(49)nanoparticles,which exhibited a strong localized surface plasmon resonance excitation around 540 nm and light absorption beyond 500 *** multifunctional catalysts showed a strong photothermal effect,arising from the broadened light absorption of Au and W_(18)O_(49)nanoparticles,leading to a temperature as high as 2.0℃on the surface of the *** study showed that the superior ethylene selectivity of W/Au/S catalysts was attributed to the moderating acidic sites of W_(18)O_(49)for methanol dehydration to *** research may provide new insight for designing heterostructures to improve photo-to-chemical conversion performance and is expected to accelerate progress toward the excellent multifunctional photothermal catalysts with broad light absorption for methanol activation and C-C bond formation.

The lithology and composition of lunar mantle modified by ilmenite bearing cumulate:A thermodynamic model

Due to their high density,the ilmenite-bearing cumulates(IBC)(with or without KREEP)formed during the late-stage lunar magma ocean solidification are thought to sink into the underlying lunar mantle and trigger lunar mantle *** evidence implied that IBC may descend deep inside the Moon and remain as a partially molten layer at the core-mantle boundary(CMB).However,partial melting may have occurred on the mixed mantle cumulates during the sinking of IBC/KREEP and the silicate melt may be positively buoyant,thus preventing the IBC/KREEP layer from sinking to the ***,we perform thermodynamic simulation on the stability of lunar mantle cumulates at different depths mixed with different amounts of IBC/KREEP from an updated LMO *** modeling results suggest that the sinking of IBC/KREEP will cause at least 5 wt%partial melting in the shallow(~12. km)and a much larger degree of partial melting in the deep lunar mantle(~42. km).Due to the density contrast with the surrounding mantle,IBC/KREEP-bearing melts could potentially decouple under certain *** modified lunar mantle by sinking of IBC/KREEP can better explain the formation of different kinds of lunar basaltic magma than the primary lunar mantle formed through differentiation of lunar magma *** of IBC/KREEP back into the lunar mantle may introduce plagioclase,clinopyroxene,garnet,and incompatible radioactive elements into the deep lunar mantle,which will further affect the thermal and chemical evolution of the lunar interior.

Task-specific Part Discovery for Fine-grained Few-shot Classification

Localizing discriminative object parts(e.g.,bird head)is crucial for fine-grained classification tasks,especially for the more challenging fine-grained few-shot *** work always relies on the learned object parts in a unified manner,where they attend the same object parts(even with common attention weights)for different few-shot episodic *** this paper,we propose that it should adaptively capture the task-specific object parts that require attention for each few-shot task,since the parts that can distinguish different tasks are naturally *** for a few-shot task,after obtaining part-level deep features,we learn a task-specific part-based dictionary for both aligning and reweighting part features in an ***,part-level categorical prototypes are generated based on the part features of support data,which are later employed by calculating distances to classify query data for *** retain the discriminative ability of the part-level representations(i.e.,part features and part prototypes),we design an optimal transport solution that also utilizes query data in a transductive way to optimize the aforementioned distance calculation for the final *** experiments on five fine-grained benchmarks show the superiority of our method,especially for the 1-shot setting,gaining 0.12.,8.56%and 5.87%improvements over state-of-the-art methods on CUB,Stanford Dogs,and Stanford Cars,respectively.
