Quantum error correction is an essential ingredient for universal quantum computing.D espite tremendous experimental efforts in the study of quantum error correction,to date,there has been no demonstration in the realis ation of universal quantum error-correcting code,with the subsequent verification of all key features including the identification of an arbitrary physical error,the capability for transversal manipulation of the logical state and state *** address this challenge,we experimentally realise the [5,1,3]code,the so-called smallest perfect code that permits corrections of generic single-qubit *** the experiment,having optimised the encoding circuit,we employ an array of superconducting qubits to realise the [5,1,3] code for several typical logical states including the magic state,an indispensable resource for realising non-Clifford *** encoded states are prepared with an average fidelity of 57.1(3)% while with a high fidelity of 98.6(1)% in the code ***,the arbitrary single-qubit errors introduced manually are identified by measuring the *** further implement logical Pauli operations with a fidelity of 97.2(2)% within the code ***,we realise the decoding circuit and recover the input state with an overall fidelity of 74.5(6)%,in total with 92 *** work demonstrates each key aspect of the [5,1,3] code and verifies the viability of experimental realisation of quantum error-correcting codes with superconducting qubits.

GRB 190530A was jointly observed by the High Energy X-ray Telescope of the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT/HE)and the Ground-Based Wide-Angle Camera network(GWAC-N)with the extremely large field of *** triggered by Insight-HXMT/HE and Fermi/GBM,we observed the optical emission of GRB 190530A,using the 30 cm telescope of GWAC(GWAC-F30)to search and locate its *** observation of the late afterglow of GRB 190530A was made with the 2.16 m telescope at Xinglong *** this paper,we make a detailed exploration of the origin of GRB *** the prompt emission,a“double-tracking”pattern is presented both for the low-energy spectral indexαand the peak energy Epin the Band function with Insight-HXMT/HE and Fermi/GBM data;the results of GRB 190530A are consistent with the Amati and Yonetoku correlations;the spectral lag(τ)versus energy(E)can be estimated withτ=-3.0±0.06+(0.17±0.03)*** synchrotron radiation can account for the origin of GRB190530A prompt emission ***αand Epof the precursor are essentially the same as that of the main prompt emission,implying that they have the same *** the afterglow,it can be described with the external forward shock model in ISM circumburst *** summary,from precursor,prompt emission to afterglow of GRB 190530A all originated from synchrotron radiation.

Currently,little in-depth evidence is known about the application of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)therapy in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** retrospective multicenter cohort study included patients with COVID-19 at 7 designated hospitals in Wuhan,*** patients were followed up until June 30,*** and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify the risk factors associated with unsuccessful ECMO *** score matching was used to match patients who received veno-venous ECMO with those who received invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV)-only *** 88 patients receiving ECMO therapy,27 and 61 patients were and were not successfully weaned from ECMO,***,15,15,and 65 patients were further weaned from IMV,discharged from hospital,or died during hospitalization,*** the multivariate logistic regression analysis,a lymphocyte count≤0.5×10^(9)/L and D-dimer concentration>4×the upper limit of normal level at ICU admission,a peak PaCO_(2)>60 mmHg at 24 h before ECMO initiation,and no tracheotomy performed during the ICU stay were independently associated with lower odds of ECMO *** the propensity scorematched analysis,a mixed-effect Cox model detected a lower hazard ratio for 120-day all-cause mortality after ICU admission during hospitalization in the ECMO *** presence of lymphocytopenia,higher D-dimer concentrations at ICU admission and hypercapnia before ECMO initiation could help to identify patients with a poor *** could facilitate weaning from *** relative to IMV-only therapy was associated with improved outcomes in critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Since December 2019,COVID-19 has occurred unexpectedly and emerged as a health problem worldw *** the rapidly increasing number of cases in subsequent weeks,the clinical characteristics of pediatric cases are rarely described.A cross-sectional multicenter study was carried out in 10 hospitals across Hubei province.A total of 25 confirmed pediatric cases of COVID-19 were *** demographic data,epidemiological history,underlying discascs,clinical mani festations,laboratory and radiological data,treatments,and outcomes were *** 25 hospitalized patients with COVID-19,the boy to girl ratio was 1.27:*** median age was 3 ***-19 cases in children aged<3 years,3-6 years,and≥6-years patients were 10(40%),6(24%),and 9(36%),*** most common symptoms at onset of ilness were fever(13[52%]),and dry cough(11[44%]).Chest CT images showed essential normal in 8 cases(33.3%),unilateral involvement of lungs in 5 cases(20.8%),and bilateral involvement in 11 cases(45.8%).Clinical diagnoses included upper respiratory tract infection(n=8),mild pneumonia(n=15),and critical cases(n=2).Two critical cases(8%)were given invasive mechanical ventilation,corticosteroids,and *** symptoms in 24(96%)of 25 patients were alleviated and one patient had been *** was concluded that children were susceptible to COVID-19 like adults,while the clinical presentations and outcomes were more favorable in ***,children less than 3 years old accounted for majority cases and critical cases lied in this age group,which demanded extra attentions during home caring and hospitalization treatment.

BACKGROUND No prognostic models specific to hepatocellular carcinoma patients receiving surgical resection have been considered strong and convincing enough for survival prediction thus far,and there are no models including only preoperative *** derived a nomogram to predict disease-free survival in a previous *** To simplify our score and compare research outcomes among other scoring *** We retrospectively reviewed data from 1106 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who underwent liver resection at the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital between April 2003 and December *** analyses were conducted to identify the significant survival ***,Harrell’s C-index,and Akaike information criterion were compared between our score,AJCC 8^(th)edition,Tokyo score,and Taipei Integrated Scoring System(TTV-CTPAFP model).RESULTS Among the 1106 patients,731(66.1%)had tumor recurrence at a median followup of 83.9 *** risk factors were identified:platelet count,albumin level,indocyanine green retention rate,multiplicity,and radiologic total tumor *** were divided into three risk groups,and the 5-year survival rates were 61.7%,39%,and 25.7%,*** C-index was 0.617,which was higher than the Tokyo score(0.613)and the Taipei Integrated Scoring System(0.562)and equal to the value of the AJCC 8th edition(0.617).CONCLUSION The modified score provides an easier method to predict *** treatment can be planned preoperatively by dividing patients into risk groups.

Background: Vasovagal syncope (VVS) is common in children and greatly affect both physical and mental health. But the mechanisms have not been completely explained. This study was designed to analyze the gut microbiota in children with VVS and explore its clinical significance. Methods: Fecal samples from 20 VVS children and 20 matched controls were collected, and the microbiota were analyzed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The diversity and microbiota compositions of the VVS cases and controls were compared with the independent sample t test or Mann-Whitney U test. The correlation between the predominant bacteria and clinical symptoms was analyzed using Pearson or Spearman correlation test. Results: No significant differences in diversity were evident between VVS and controls (P > 0.05). At the family level, the relative abundance of Ruminococcaceae was significantly higher in VVS children than in controls (median [Q1, Q3]: 22.10% [16.89%, 27.36%] vs. 13.92% [10.31%, 20.18%], Z=-2.40, P 4, P < 0.05). The relative abundance of Ruminococcaceae in VVS patients was positively correlated with the frequency of syncope (r= 0.616, P < 0.01). In terms of its correlation with hemodynamics, we showed that relative abundance of Ruminococcaceae was negatively correlated with the systolic and diastolic pressure reduction at the positive response in head-up tilt test (HUTT;r= -0.489 and -0.448, all P < 0.05), but was positively correlated with the mean pressure drop and decline rate (r= 0.489 and 0.467, all P < 0.05) as well as diastolic pressure drop and decline rate at the HUTT positive response (r= 0.579 and 0.589, all P < 0.01) in VVS patients. Conclusion: Ruminococcaceae was the predominant gut bacteria and was associated with the clinical symptoms and hemodynamics of VVS, suggesting that gut microbiota might be involved in the development of VVS.
