Fluid-solid coupling numerical simulation of micro-disturbance grouting treatment for excessive deformation of shield tunnel

Micro-disturbance grouting is a recovery technique to reduce the excessive deformation of operational shield tunnels in urban *** grout mass behaves as a fluid in the ground before hardening to form a grout–soil mixture,which highlights the necessity of using fluid–solid coupling method in the simulation of grouting *** a discrete element modeling environment,this paper proposes a novel fluid-solid coupling method based on the pore density flow *** demonstrate the effectiveness of this method,it is applied to numerical simulation of micro-disturbance grouting process for treatment of large transverse deformation of a shield tunnel in Shanghai Metro,*** simulation results reveal the mechanism of recovering tunnel convergence by micro-disturbance grouting in terms of compaction and fracture of soil,energy analysis during grouting,and mechanical response of soil-tunnel interaction ***,the influence of the three main grouting parameters(i.e.,grouting pressure,grouting distance,and grouting height)on tunnel deformation recovery efficiency is evaluated through parametric *** order to efficiently recover large transverse deformation of shield tunnel in Shanghai Metro,it is suggested that the grouting pressure should be about 0.55 MPa,the grouting height should be in the range of 6.2–7.0 m,and the grouting distance should be in the range of 3.0–3.6 *** results provide a valuable reference for grouting treatment projects of over-deformed shield tunnel in soft soil areas.

A deep learning model enabled multi-event recognition for distributed optical fiber sensing

Fiber optic sensors that utilize backscattered light offer distributed real-time measurements and have been seen tremendous improvements in sensing distance and spatial resolution over the last ***, these improvements in sensor capabilities lead to a significant increase in the amount of data that needs to be processed. Traditional processing schemes are no longer adequate, so the development of novel signal processing methods is critical. Phase-sensitive optical time domain reflectometry(Φ-OTDR) is now applied in various applications for multi-event recognition, and it would usually be difficult, sometimes even unrealistic to label all the acquired samples due to its real-time and seamless monitoring nature. To fully take advantage of the information contained within the large number of unlabeled samples, which we.e formerly not utilized and hence wasted, we.propose a semi-supervised model to boost the event classification performance of Φ-OTDR. The model extracts respectively the temporal features and the spatial bidirectional features together with a dual attention mechanism. Its classification accuracy has been improved up to 96.9%with only 1230 labeled samples. In addition, our model shows significant advantages when the number of labeled samples is reduced. Importantly, our method improves the accuracy of multi-event classification without any modification to the optical setup.

Distributed generalized Nash equilibrium seeking:event-triggered coding-decoding-based secure communication

In this paper, we.consider the distributed generalized Nash equilibrium(GNE) seeking problem in strongly monotone games. The transmission among players is implemented through a digital communication network with limited bandwidth. For improving communication efficiency or/and security, an event-triggered coding-decoding-based communication is first proposed, where the data(decision variable) are first mapped to a series of finite-level codewords and, only when an event condition is satisfied, then sent to the neighboring agents. Moreover, a distributed communication-efficient GNE seeking algorithm is constructed accordingly,and the overrelaxation scheme is further taken into consideration. Through primal-dual analysis, the proposed algorithm is proven to converge to a variational GNE with fixed step-sizes by recasting it as an inexact forward-backward iteration. Finally, numerical simulations illustrate the benefit of the proposed algorithms in terms of saving communication resources.

Adaptive 5G-and-beyond network-enabled interpretable federated learning enhanced by neuroevolution

Mobile telemedicine systems based on the next-generation communication will significantly enhance deep fusion of network automation and federated learning(FL), but data privacy is a paramount issue in sectors like healthcare. This work hence considers FL augments 5G-and-beyond networks by training deep learning(DL) models without the need to exchange raw data. The substantial communication loads imposed on by extensive parameters involved in DL models are managed through adaptive scheduling mechanisms effectively. To address the opaque nature of DL models and to improve the interpretability of FL models, we.introduce a convolutional fuzzy rough neural network specifically designed for medical image processing. we.also develop a multiobjective memetic evolutionary algorithm to streamline and optimize the neural network architectures. Our comprehensive FL framework integrates smart scheduling, interpretable fuzzy rough logic,and neuroevolution. This framework is shown to improve communication efficiency, increase interpretability of diagnosis with protected privacy, and generate low-complexity neural architectures.

A semi-analytical pressure and rate transient analysis model for inner boundary and propped fractures exhibiting dynamic behavior under long-term production conditions

The loss of hydrocarbon production caused by the dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures under long-term production conditions has been widely reported in recent studies. Howe.er,the quantitative relationships for the variations of the inner boundary and propped fractures have not been determined and incorporated in the semi-analytical models for the pressure and rate transient analysis. This work focuses on describing the variations of the inner boundary and propped fractures and capturing the typical characteristics from the pressure transient curves.A generalized semi-analytical model was developed to characterize the dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures under long-term production conditions. The pressure-dependent length shrinkage coefficients, which quantify the length changes of the inner zone and propped fractures, are modified and incorporated into this multi-zone semi-analytical model. With simultaneous numerical iterations and numerical inversions in Laplace and real-time space, the transient solutions to pressure and rate behavior are determined in just a few seconds. The dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures on transient pressure curves is divided into five periods: fracture bilinear flow(FR1),dynamic PFs flow(FR2), inner-area linear flow(FR3), dynamic inner boundary flow(FR4), and outer-area dominated linear flow(FR5). The early hump during FR2 period and a positive upward shift during FR4period are captured on the log-log pressure transient curves, reflecting the dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures during the long-term production *** transient pressure behavior will exhibit greater positive upward trend and the flow rate will be lowe. with the shrinkage of the inner boundary. A Novel CCA-NMF Whitening Method for Practical Machine Learning Based Underwater Direction of Arrival Estimation

Underwater direction of arrival(DOA)estimation has always been a very challenging theoretical and practical *** to the serious non-stationary,non-linear,and non-Gaussian characteristics,machine learning based DOA estimation methods trained on simulated Gaussian noised array data cannot be directly applied to actual underwater DOA estimation *** order to deal with this problem,environmental data with no target echoes can be employed to analyze the non-Gaussian ***,the obtained information about non-Gaussian components can be used to whiten the array *** on these considerations,a novel practical sonar array whitening method was ***,based on a we.k assumption that the non-Gaussian components in adjacent patches with and without target echoes are almost the same,canonical cor-relation analysis(CCA)and non-negative matrix factorization(NMF)techniques are employed for whitening the array *** the whitened array data,machine learning based DOA estimation models trained on simulated Gaussian noised datasets can be used to perform underwater DOA estimation *** results illustrated that,using actual underwater datasets for testing with known machine learning based DOA estimation models,accurate and robust DOA estimation performance can be achieved by using the proposed whitening method in different underwater con-ditions.
