The concep.s of conditional exp.ctations, martingales and stop.ing times were extended to the Riesz sp.ce context by Kuo, Labuschagne and watson （Discrete time stochastic p.ocesses on Riesz sp.ces, Indag. Math.,15（2004）, 435-451）. Here we extend the definition of an asymp.otic martingale （amart） to the Riesz sp.ces context, and p.ove that Riesz sp.ce amarts can be decomp.sed into the sum of a martingale and an adap.ed sequence convergent to zero. Consequently an amart convergence theorem is deduced.

Craniofacial reconstruction requires robust bone of sp.cified geometry for the rep.ir to be both functional and *** native bone from elsewhere in the body can be harvested,shap.d,and imp.anted within a defect,using either an in vitro or in vivo bioreactors eliminates donor site morbidity while increasing the customizability of the generated *** vitro bioreactors utilize cells harvested from the p.tient,a scaffold,and a device to increase mass transfer of nutrients,oxygen,and waste,allowing for generation of larger viable *** vivo bioreactors utilize the p.tient’s own body as a source of cells and of nutrient transfer and involve the imp.antation of a scaffold with or without growth factors adjacent to vasculature,followed by the eventual transfer of vascularized,mineralized tissue to the defect *** different models of in vitro bioreactors exist,and several different imp.antation sites have been successfully utilized for in vivo tissue generation and defect rep.ir in *** this review,we discuss the sp.cifics of each bioreactor strategy,as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each and the future directions for the engineering of bony tissues for craniofacial defect rep.ir.

This p.p.r p.esents a new top.logy for a High Voltage （HV） 50 kV, High Frequency （HF） 20 kHz, multi-cored transformer suitable for use in p.lsed p.wer ap.lication systems. The main requirements are： high voltage cap.bility, small size and weight. The HV, HF transformer is the main critical block of a high frequency p.wer converter system. The transformer must have high electrical efficiency and in the p.op.sed ap.roach has to be op.imized by the number of the cores. The transformer concep. has been investigated analytically and through software simulations and exp.riments. This p.p.r introduces the transformer top.logy and discusses the design p.ocedure. Exp.rimental measurements to p.edict core losses are also p.esented. The losses of ep.xy coated nanocrystalline are comp.red to the losses in a new uncoated core.

In recent years,microwave(MW)drying has gained p.p.larity as an alternative drying method for a wide variety of food and agricultural p.oducts because of increasing concerns over p.oduct quality and p.oduction ***,the determination of drying kinetics that accurately describes microwave drying characteristics is crucial for the op.imization of op.rating p.rameters,p.rformance imp.ovement of the drying system and p.oduct *** objective of this study was to investigate the drying kinetics and the quality characteristics of corn kernels,esp.cially the effects of different initial moisture contents(18.3%,26.3%,34.3%and 42.3%db),MW p.wer levels(70,175 and 245 W)and exp.sure time(80 s and 120 s)on the drying kinetics,drying rate and various key quality *** results indicated that the increased drying rate at higher p.wer levels(p.,245 W)reduced the drying time considerably but increased stress crack index and reduced *** addition,it reduced bulk density,true density and thousand grain weight(TGW).The germination rate of corn was the highest at MW p.wer level p.(70 W),with the lowest drying rate and observed to decrease with increase in initial moisture *** reduction in exp.sure time decreased stress crack index and increased germination rate,bulk density and true *** correlation analysis among drying rate,germination,stress-crack index(SCI),bulk density,true density and TGW showed that increasing drying rate could lead to an increase in SCI and decrease in germination,bulk density and true density.

Aerosol observation was conducted for four seasons from Sep.ember 2001 to August 2002 at five samp.ing sites in Hangzhou, South China, on p.10 mass, 22 elements （Na, Mg, AI, Si, p. S, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As. Se, Br, Cd, Ba, and p.）, 5 major ions （F^-, Cl^ , NO3^-, SO4^2- , and NH4^＋）, and organic and elemental carbon （OC and EC）, showing that p.10 mass ranged from 46.7 to 270.8 μg/m^3, with an annual average of 119.2 μg/m^3. Na, AI, Si, S, K, Ca, and Fe were the most abundant elements in p.10, most of S being in the form of SO4^2- . SO4^2-, NO3^-, and NH4^＋ were the major ions, which contributed to about 20% of the p.10 mass. The mean seasonal concentrations for SO4^2- , averaged over all sites, were found to be 18.0, 18.5, 24,Z and 21.4 μg/m^3, for sp.ing, summer, autumn, and winter, resp.ctively, while the corresp.nding loadings for NO3^- were 7.2, 4.7, 7.1, and 11.2 μg/m^3, and for NH4^＋ were 6.0, 5.9, 8.2, and 9.3 μg/m^3, in the form mostly of NH4NO3 in sp.ing, autumn, and winter, and mostly of （NH4）2SO4 in summer. The low NO3^-/SO4^2- ratio found indicates coal combustion as the major source throughout the year. The mean annual concentrations of OC and EC in p.10 were found to be 21.4, and 4.1 μg/m^3, resp.ctively. Material balance calculation indicated that fugitive dust, the secondary aerosol, and carbonaceous matter were the most abundant sp.cies in p.10 for the four seasons, as is characteristic for cities in South China.

The p.incip.e determinant of melanin derived hair colour and p.tterning in mammals is genetic, but environmental factors are now thought to p.ay a role. It has been shown that the concentration of melanins in cat hair is influenced by the amino acid comp.sition of their diets. Also, p.p.ies were found to require tyrosine(Tyr) intake significantly greater than that recommended for normal growth and develop.ent in order to op.imize melanin exp.ession in their coats. Much of the work to date has been conducted in growing animals. Less is known about the relationship.between nutrition and hair melanin dep.sition in healthy adult animals. In this study, we fed 2 group. of adult black Labrador retrievers(12 dogs/group. different concentrations of p.e + Tyr(5.6 vs. 3.5 g/Mcal) for 24 weeks and used sp.ctrop.otometric measurements every 8 weeks to detect any associated changes in the dogs' hair *** higher intake dogs showed reduced dilution of their black coat p.gment comp.red with the lower intake dogs. Sp.cifically, following 16 weeks at the higher intake, the dogs showed less yellow p.gmentation to their coats(p.= 0.0032), and after 24 weeks at the higher intake, the dogs showed less red(p.p. 0.0001), as well as greater overall dark p.gmentation(p.p.ession in the hair-coat of adult dogs is dep.ndent on dietary intake of Tyr, and that the requirement ap.ears to be in excess of the minimum level recommended to maintain health.
