Structural disruption of melanin-like polymers with boosted UV protection

Manipulating the energy structure of materials represents an efficient way to regulate their light absorption behaviors. For example, constructing donor-acceptor(D-A) structures to increase the polarizability and reduce the energy bandgap of local molecules has been widely used in the field of organic photovoltaics with ordered structures. Remarkably, even in disordered and chaotic systems such as melanin-like polydopamine(PDA), visible and near-infrared light absorption can be significantly improved using this strategy. However, there has been a noticeable dearth of research on the ultraviolet(UV) light absorption regulation of bioinspired polymers with disordered and chaotic architectures by tailoring the D-A microstructures. In this study, a series of benzoheterocyclic molecules with strong electron-donating features screened by molecular simulation calculations were involved in disrupting the D-A structures within PDA. The destruction of D-A structures promoted the increase of the energy band gap and finally boosted the UV absorption of PDA. The resulting PDA nanoparticles with enhanced UV absorption were further employed to fabricate UV shielding composite films to protect the growth of plants from harmful UV radiation. This research may open up new avenues for structural disruption of bioinspired polymers for enhanced photoprotection applications.

Advances in molecular biotechnology have introduced new generations of molecular markers for use in the genetic improvement of farm animals. Consequently, more accurate genetic information can be obtained to better understand existing animal genetic resources. This review gives a brief summary on the development of genetic markers including both the classical genetic markers and more advanced DNA-based molecular markers. This review will help us better understand the characteristics of different genetic markers and the genetic diversity of animal genetic resources.

波及全球的新型冠状病毒感染(新冠病毒感染)疫情持续3年,对人类生命健康和经济活动造成了严重影响。中国的疫情防控经历了应急性超常规防控阶段、应急常态化防控阶段和应急常态化向"乙类乙管"常态化过渡转段阶段,取得了疫情防控重大决定性胜利。天津市新冠病毒感染救治定点医院在疫情防控的各阶段均圆满完任务,积累了宝贵经验。本文总结定点医院"乙类甲管"期间院感防控(感控)体系建设经验,概括为集束化"3、2、1"感控体系,即外、中、内"三环",绿、橙、红"三区",前、中、后"三事";"两天预净化"和"双点长制";"一个模块"化管理。应急情况下,可采用简化版的集束化感控体系,其特点为:一是强调"集束化",即关键措施的整体效能,避免任何短板的发生。二是强调感控理念的转变,使感控最大化地为医疗服务提供安全保障。三是强调流程的优化,防控措施既要全面和重点突出,又要防止过度;利用最少的资源,达到最佳的感控效果。四是强调对感控工作的质量控制,关注流程的重要性,提倡"制度瘦身,流程增肥"的理念。五是强调未来的发展寄希望于人工智能,以期最大程度地提高防控质量和效率。六是强化持续的培训和再培训,利用包括人工智能在内的多样化的培训方法,确保感染控制的政策和程序清晰易懂、易于遵循,并建立实施评估和反馈机制,使医务人员随时保持应急状态。

Effects of drought on non-structural carbohydrates and C,N,and P stoichiometric characteristics of Pinus yunnanensis seedlings

To study non-structural carbohydrate character-istics and nutrient utilization strategies of Pinus yunnanen-sis under continuous drought conditions,2-year-old seed-lings were planted in pots with appropriate water,light and moderate and severe drought treatments[(80±5),(65±5),(50±5),and(35±5)%of field water-holding capacity].Non-structural carbohydrates,carbon(C),nitrogen(N),and phosphorus(P)concentrations were measured in each plant *** results show that:(1)With increasing drought,non-structural carbohydrates gradually increased in leaves,stems,and coarse roots,while gradually decreased in fine roots;(2)C concentrations of all were relatively stable under different stress *** utilization of each component increased under light and moderate drought conditions,while N and P utilization efficiency of each plant component decreased under severe *** was mainly restricted by N,first decreasing and then increasing with increased drought;(3)There was a correlation between the levels of non-structural carbohydrates and C,N,and P in each *** in N concentration affected the interconversion between soluble sugar and starch,which play a regulatory role in the fluctuation of the concentration of non-structural carbohydrates;and,(4)Plasticity analysis showed that *** seedlings responded to drought mainly by altering starch concentration,the ratio of soluble sugar to starch in leaves and stems,and further by alter-ing N and P utilization ***,these results suggest that the physiological activities of all organs of *** seedlings are restricted under drought and that trade-offs exist between different physiological indicators and *** findings are helpful in understanding non-structural carbohydrate and nutrient adaptation mechanisms under drought in *** seedlings.

Leukotriene B4(LTB4)synthesis is enhanced in the colonic mucosa in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).BLT1,a highaffinity receptor for LTB4,exhibits no effect on the progression of dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced colitis,which mostly relies on innate ***,we reported that BLT1 regulates trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS)-induced colitis,which reflects CD4+T-cell-dependent adaptive immune mechanisms of *** found that BLT1 signaling enhanced the progression of colitis through controlling the production of proinflammatory cytokines by dendritic cells(DCs)and modulating the differentiation of Th1 and ***1−/−mice displayed an alleviated severity of TNBS-induced colitis with reduced body weight loss and infiltrating cells in the lamina ***1 deficiency in DCs led to reduced production of proinflammatory cytokines,including IL-6,TNF-α,and IL-12,and these results were further confirmed via treatment with a BLT1 *** impaired cytokine production by BLT1−/−DCs subsequently led to reduced Th1 and Th17 differentiation both in vitro and in *** further performed a conditional DC reconstitution experiment to assess whether BLT1 in DCs plays a major role in regulating the pathogenesis of TNBS-induced colitis,and the results indicate that BLT1 deficiency in DCs also significantly reduces disease *** mechanistic study demonstrated that BLT1-regulated proinflammatory cytokine production through the Gαiβγsubunit-phospholipase Cβ(PLCβ)-PKC ***,we found that treatment with the BLT1 antagonist also reduced the production of proinflammatory cytokines by human peripheral blood *** findings reveal the critical role of BLT1 in regulating adaptive immunity and TNBS-induced colitis,which further supports BLT1 as a potential drug target for adaptive immunity-mediated IBD.

Al-containing MAX phase ceramic has demonstrated great potential in the field of high-performance low-voltage electrical contact *** the anti-arc erosion mechanism of the MAX phase is crucial for further improving performance,but it is not *** this study,Ag/Ti_(3)AlC_(2) electrical contact material was synthesized by powder metallurgy and examined by nanoindentation techniques such as constant loading rate indentation,creep testing,and continuous stiffness *** results indicated a gradual degradation in the nano-mechanical properties of the Ti_(3)AlC_(2) reinforcing phase with increasing arc erosion times,although the rate of this degradation appeared to decelerate over arc erosion ***,continuous stiffness measurements highlighted the uneven mechanical properties within Ti_(3)AlC_(2),attributing this heterogeneity to the phase’s *** the early(1-100 times)and intermediate(100-1000 times)stages of arc erosion,the decline in the nano-mechanical properties of Ti_(3)AlC_(2) was primarily ascribed to the decomposition of Ti_(3)AlC_(2) and limited surface *** the later stage of arc erosion(1000-6200 times),the inner region of Ti_(3)AlC_(2) also sustained arc damage,but a thick oxide layer formed on its surface,enhancing the mechanical properties and overall arc erosion resistance of the Ag/Ti_(3)AlC_(2).

Effect of bond length and radius on superconducting transition temperature for FeAs-based superconductors

By comparing the data of lattice parameters of more than 50 new FeAs-based high temperature superconductors in two syetems, the effect of bondlength on superconducting transition temperature (T C ) was found that, for both FeAs superconductor systems with similar ionic radii of cation A, the bond length L As-A between Arsenic atom and its nearest neighbor cation at the A site is in an inverse proportion to T C , i.e. the larger the bond length L As-A , the lower the T C . In addition, we also found a noticeable effect of ionic radius on T C , in which deviation from the tendency line of bond length vs. T C decreases with the increasing ionic radius. Both bond length-T C and ionic radii-T C relations indicate that the interaction of cation A and As ion have significant effect on superconductivity. The analysis on the electronic structure indicates that there exists the proximity of the secondary-outer p-orbit of the cation A and the 4s orbit of the As ion, both in energy space and in real space. Some high frequency individual vibrating modes would be established through exchange coupling on their inner orbits. It is worth of mention that the superconducting condensation is influenced by the interaction between the cation A and the As atoms.
