CO_(2) electrochemical reduction(CO_(2)ER)is an important research area for carbon neutralization.However,available catalysts for CO_(2) reduction are still characterized by limited stability and activity.Recently,metallic bismuth(Bi)has emerged as a promising catalyst for CO_(2) ER.Herein,we report the solid cathode electroreduction of commercial micronized Bi2O3as a straightforward approach for the preparation of nanostructured Bi.At-1.1 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode in a KHCO3aqueous electrolyte,the resulting nanostructure Bi delivers a formate current density of~40 mA·cm^(-2) with a current efficiency of~86%,and the formate selectivity reaches97.6% at-0.78 V.Using nanosized Bi2O3as the precursor can further reduce the primary particle sizes of the resulting Bi,leading to a significantly increased formate selectivity at relatively low overpotentials.The high catalytic activity of nanostructured Bi is attributable to the ultrafine and interconnected Bi nanoparticles in the nanoporous structure,which exposes abundant active sites for CO_(2) electrocatalytic reduction.

Membrane distillation(MD)is a promising alternative desalination technology,but the hydrophobic membrane cannot intercept volatile organic compounds(VOCs),resulting in aggravation in the quality of permeate.In term of this,electro-Fenton(EF)was coupled with sweeping gas membrane distillation(SGMD)in a more efficient way to construct an advanced oxidation barrier at the gas-liquid interface,so that the VOCs could be trapped in this layer to guarantee the water quality of the distillate.During the so-called EF-MD process,an interfacial interception barrier containing hydroxyl radical formed on the hydrophobic membrane surface.It contributed to the high phenol rejection of 90.2% with the permeate phenol concentration lower than 1.50 mg/L.Effective interceptions can be achieved in a wide temperature range,even though the permeate flux of phenol was also intensified.The EF-MD system was robust to high salinity and could electrochemically regenerate ferrous ions,which endowed the long-term stability of the system.This novel EF-MD configuration proposed a valuable strategy to intercept VOCs in MD and will broaden the application of MD in hypersaline wastewater treatment.

High-quality bonding of 4-inch GaAs and Si is achieved using plasma-activated bonding technology.The influence of Ar plasma activation on surface morphology is discussed.When the annealing temperature is 300℃,the bonding strength reaches a maximum of 6.2 MPa.In addition,a thermal stress model for GaAs/Si wafers is established based on finite element analysis to obtain the distribution of equivalent stress and deformation variables at different temperatures.The shape varia-tion of the wafer is directly proportional to the annealing temperature.At an annealing temperature of 400℃,the maximum protrusion of 4 inches GaAs/Si wafers is 3.6 mm.The interface of GaAs/Si wafers is observed to be dense and defect-free using a transmission electron microscope.The characterization of interface elements by X-ray energy dispersion spectroscopy indi-cates that the elements at the interface undergo mutual diffusion,which is beneficial for improving the bonding strength of the interface.There is an amorphous transition layer with a thickness of about 5 nm at the bonding interface.The preparation of Si-based GaAs heterojunctions can enrich the types of materials required for the development of integrated circuits,improve the performance of materials and devices,and promote the development of microelectronics technology.

The mechanical properties of interfacial transition zones(ITZs)have traditionally been simplified by reducing the stiffness of cement in previous simulation methods.A novel approach based on the discrete element method(DEM)has been developed for modeling concrete.This new approach efficiently simulates the meso-structure of ITZs,accurately capturing their heterogeneous properties.Validation against established uniaxial compression experiments confirms the precision of thismodel.The proposedmodel canmodel the process of damage evolution containing cracks initiation,propagation and penetration.Under increasing loads,cracks within ITZs progressively accumulate,culminating in macroscopic fractures that traverse themortarmatrix,forming the complex,serpentine path of cracks.This study reveals four distinct displacement patterns:tensile compliant,tensile opposite,mixed tensile-shear,and shear opposite patterns,each indicative of different stages in concrete’s damage evolution.The widening angle of these patterns delineates the progression of cracks,with the tensile compliant pattern signaling the initial crack appearance and the shear opposite pattern indicating the concrete model’s ultimate failure.

Graph databases have gained widespread adoption in various industries and have been utilized in a range of applications,including financial risk assessment,commodity recommendation,and data lineage tracking.While the principles and design of these databases have been the subject of some investigation,there remains a lack of comprehensive examination of aspects such as storage layout,query language,and deployment.The present study focuses on the design and implementation of graph storage layout,with a particular emphasis on tree-structured key-value stores.We also examine different design choices in the graph storage layer and present our findings through the development of TuGraph,a highly efficient single-machine graph database that significantly outperforms well-known Graph DataBase Management System(GDBMS).Additionally,TuGraph demonstrates superior performance in the Linked Data Benchmark Council(LDBC)Social Network Benchmark(SNB)interactive benchmark.

An efficient N–H and C(sp~3)-H functionalization of aryl ketones with benzylamines/amino acids was developed under mild conditions by virtue of anodic oxidation. A variety of functionalized 2,5-diaryloxazoles were obtained with good to excellent yields. Moreover, some important natural products can be prepared by this method. The reaction features a broad substrate scope, scalability, metal-free and chemical oxidant-free.

ZnO_(1-x)S_(x) films were prepared by chemical bath deposition(CBD)on glass substrate.The effects of ammonia concentration on the structure characteristics of ZnO_(1-x)S_(x) films were studied.The results of scanning electron microscope(SEM)show that the film has good density when the concentration of ammonia is 0.4 M.Because more S2-ions are involved in the reaction and less precipitates are generated,the film is relatively dense.The distribution of the film element shows that the growth rate of the film first accelerates and then slows down as the concentration of ammonia increases.X-ray diffraction(XRD)study shows that the diffraction peak is obvious when the ammonia concentration is 0.4 M,and the crystallinity of the film is good.Ultraviolet(UV)spectrophotometer test results show that the ratio of S content(x)and optical band gap(E_(g))satisfies E_(g)(x)=3.3257x^(2)-2.7187x+4.3576.Increasing S content can increase the optical band gap of the film,and increasing ammonia concentration can improve the absorbance of the film,but both have good transmittance.At the ammonia concentration of 0.4 M,the absorbance of the film is good in the wavelength range of 300—900 nm,the transmission rate reaches 80%,and the band gap is 3.75 e V,which is suitable for the buffer layer of solar cells.

Structured illumination microscopy (SIM) has been widely applied to investigate intricate biological dynamics due to its outstanding super-resolution imaging speed. Incorporating compressive sensing into SIM brings the possibility to further improve the super-resolution imaging speed. Nevertheless, the recovery of the superresolution information from the compressed measurement remains challenging in experiments. Here, we report structured illumination microscopy with complementary encoding-based compressive imaging (CECI-SIM) to realize faster super-resolution imaging. Compared to the nine measurements to obtain a super-resolution image in a conventional SIM, CECI-SIM can achieve a super-resolution image by three measurements;therefore, a threefold improvement in the imaging speed can be achieved. This faster imaging ability in CECI-SIM is experimentally verified by observing tubulin and actin in mouse embryonic fibroblast cells. This work provides a feasible solution for high-speed super-resolution imaging, which would bring significant applications in biomedical research.

To address the problems of insufficient dimensionality of electroencephalogram(EEG) feature extraction,the tendency to ignore the importance of different sequential data segments,and the poor generalization ability of the model in EEG based emotion recognition,the model of convolutional neural network and bi-directional long short-term memory and self-attention(CNN+Bi LSTM+self-attention) is proposed.This model uses convolutional neural network(CNN) to extract more distinctive features from both spatial and temporal dimensions.The bi-directional long short-term memory(Bi LSTM) is used to further preserve the long-term dependencies between the temporal phases of sequential data.The self-attention mechanism can change the weights of different channels to extract and highlight important information and address the often-ignored importance of different channels and samples when extracting EEG features.The subject-dependent experiment and subject-independent experiment are performed on the database for emotion analysis using physiological signals(DEAP) and collected datasets to verify the recognition performance.The experimental results show that the model proposed in this paper has excellent recognition performance and generalization ability.

In order to prepare Cd_(x)Zn_(1-x)S films with lower cadmium content and better performance as a buffer layer for copper indium gallium selenide(CIGS) solar cells,the performance of Cd_(x)Zn_(1-x)S films deposited in a mixture of solutions containing extremely low cadmium sources was systematically investigated by chemical bath deposition(CBD) with the synergy of chemical experiments and numerical simulations.The experimental results show that the films have the best overall performance at a cadmium source condition of 0.007 M.
