A novel compound of chiral 4-hydroxy-4-butyrolactam fused aziridine was synthesized via tandem nucleophilic displacement reaction under mild condition. Its structure was determined by IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. The crystal of the new compound is of orthorhombic, space group P212121 with a = 6.4246（6）, b = 13.5081（13）, c = 18.6399（18） A, Mr = 278.39, Z = 4, V = 1617.6（3）A^3, Dc = 1.143 g/cm^3, p（MoKa） = 0.075 mm^-1, F（000） = 608, the final R = 0.0297 and wR = 0.0679.

A novel morpholine derivative was synthesized by Michael addition/internal nucleophilic substitution of 4-（L）-menthyloxy（1R,2S,5R）-butenolide with phenyl-glyalcohol under mild condition, and its structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. The target compound belongs to orthorhombic, space group P212121 with a = 5.7729（7）, b = 11.5032（14）, c = 25.161（3）A, Mr = 319.35, Z = 4, V = 1670.8（4）A^3, Dc = 1.270 g/cm3, μ（MoKα） = 0.094 mm^-1, F（000） = 680, Flack = 0.01（2）, R = 0.0398 and wR = 0.0914.

The title compound, acetic acid-3,5-diacetoxy-2-acetoxymethyl-6-（4-quinoxalin- 2-yl-phenoxy）-tetrahydro-pyran-4-yl-ester 8 （C28H28N2O10, Mr = 552.54）, has been synthesized and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21, a = 10.060（8）, b = 5.648（4）, c = 24.11（2）A, β = 91.078（10）°, Z = 2, V= 1369.9（19）A^3, Dc = 1.339 g/cm^3,μ（MoKa） = 1.03 cm^-1, F（000） = 580.00, T =. 193.1 Kx-9 θmax = 25.03, （△/σ）max = 0.0000, Flack = -0.0（24）, the final R = 0.0680 and wR = 0.140 （w = 1/[0.0016Fo^2 ＋ 1.00000（Fo^2）]/（4Fo^2）） for 3126 observed reflections （1 〉 20（/））. The pyranoid ring adopts chair conformation in the sugar moiety, and all of the acetyl groups are in the e bond of the pyranoid ring, so the sugar moiety is very stable.

In a step-down chain a solitary wave （SW） evolves into an SW train （SWT）, but the formation of well-defined SWT takes time and space and little is known of the process from immature into mature SWT. We therefore perform a detailed numerical study of this process by analysing the local velocity amplitude and peak overlap of immature ordered SWs. The first SW continuously increases to maximal velocity amplitude and peak overlap until it is matured, but for following SWs there exist a minimal and maximal value of local velocity amplitude and, a minimal and maximal value of local peak overlap, clarifying the details of the energy propagation along the stepped chain. The immature and mature SWTs show the same dependence of the phase velocity on the SWs sequence. These provide guidelines for when or where the attention should be paid in the study of SWT.

　　M3S3 cluster six-membered ring compounds are very interesting compounds liking aromatic benzene, and Cu, Pd, B and so on can also form M3S3 cluster besides Fe. [1,2] In recent years electrical conduction of some metal com plexes has been studied. [3,4] The study of electrical conduction through DNA molecules has illustrated that DNA is a semiconductor, but its principle of electrical conduction has not been revealed. [5,6] Electrical conduction of artificial synthesized Fe-S cluster compounds has not been reported. We hope to infer the function on electrical conduction of metal active centers of iron-sulfur proteins through study of electrical conduction of Fe3S3 ring compounds, paving the way for the discovery of new advanced biological functional materials.……

The emission and Fourier transformation infrared spectra of freshly prepared porous silicon(PS) and the silicon wafer were examined. Increasing temperature generally led to a decrease in the emission intensities of the PS samples, however, the freshly prepared sample showed an unusually large and sudden increase in its emission intensity at the specific temperature at which the hydrogen ion conductivity in the silicon wafer increased. The O-H vibrations of the silicon wafer also showed a sudden decrease at the same temperature. These results are consistent with the assumption that the luminescence of fresh PS comes from the carrier bound exciton in its confined nanostructure.
