A series of novel 5-（2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-lH-chromeno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-5-yl）pyrimidione derivatives have been synthesized from substituted salicylaldehydes and barbituric acid or 2-thiobarbituric acid in water catalyzed by phase transfer catalysis of triethylbenzyl ammonium chloride （TEBA）. Elemental analysis, IR, 1HNMR, and 13C NMR elucidated the structures of all the newly synthesized compounds. In vitro antimicrobial activities of synthesized compounds have been investigated against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudornonas aeruginosa. These newly synthesized derivatives exhibited significant in vitro antibacterial activity.

Phosphorus is one of the essential macronutrients required for plant growth and development. The plants increase the absorption of phosphorus through an expansion of the root system in the soil when they are in low-phosphorus conditions. At the same time, the changes in biochemical metabolic pathways and the increase of secretion of phosphatase and organic acids activate the insoluble phosphate fixed in the soil. The expression profile in response to low phosphorus was investigated for rice at 6, 24 and 72 h after low-phosphorus stress compared with normal phosphorus conditions as a control with DNA chip. A total of 1207 differen- tially expressed genes were found in our study; 795 and 450 genes exhibited alterations in their RNA expression in response to inorganic phosphate (Pi) starvation in at least one of the three time points in roots and shoots. Thirty-eight genes overlapped in shoots and roots. The functional classification of these genes indicated their involvement in various metabolic pathways, ion transport, signal transduction, transcriptional regulation, and other processes related to growth and development. A large number of transposable elements changed the expression in rice after low-phosphorus stress. The results may provide useful information about molecular processes associated with Pi deficiency and facilitate the identification of key molecular determinants for improving Pi use by crop species.

Plasmonic particle-on-film nanocavities,supporting gap modes with ultra-small volume,provide a great solution to boost light–matter interactions at the *** this work,we report on the photoluminescence(PL)enhancement of monolayer MoS_(2) using high order modes of an Au nanosphere dimer-on-film nanocavity(DoFN).The high order plasmon modes,consisting of two bonding quadrupoles in the dimer and their images in the Au film,are revealed by combining the polarization-resolved scattering spectra with the numerical *** integrating the monolayer MoS_(2) into the DoFN,these high order modes are used to enhance PL intensity through simultaneously boosting the absorption and emission processes,producing a 1350-fold enhancement *** opens an avenue to enhance the light–matter interaction with high order plasmon modes and may find applications in future optoelectronics and nanophotonics devices.

Inhibiting the agglomeration of molten aluminum particles packed in the binder network is a promising scheme to achieve efficient combustion of solid *** this investigation,the hydroxyl-terminated structured fluorinated alcohol compound(PFD)was introduced to modify the traditional polyethylene glycol/polytetrahydrofuran block copolymerization(HTPE)binder;that is,a unique fluorinated polyether(FTPE)binder was synthesized by embedding fluorinated organic segments into the HTPE binder via crosslinking *** FTPE was applied in aluminum-based propellants for the first *** to the complete release of fluorinated organic active segments in the range of 300℃to 400℃,the burning rate of FTPEbased propellant increased from 4.07(0%PFD)to 6.36 mm/s(5%PFD),increased by 56.27%under 1 *** reaction heat of FTPE propellants increased from 5.95(0%PFD)to 7.18 MJ/kg(5%PFD)under 3.0 MPa,indicating that HTPE binder modified with PFD would be conducive to inhibiting the D90 of condensed combustion products(CCPs)dropped by 81.84%from 75.46(0%PFD)to 13.71μm(5%PFD)under 3.0 MPa,in consistent with the significant reduction of aluminum agglomerates observed on the quenched burning surface of the *** results demonstrated that a novel FTPE binder with PFD can release fluorinated organic active segments,which motivate preignition reaction with the alumina shell in the early stage of aluminum combustion,and then enhance the melting diffusion effect of aluminum to inhibit the agglomeration.

Background Atresia and degeneration,a follicular developmental fate that reduces female fertility and is triggered by granulosa cell(GC)apoptosis,have been induced by dozens of ***,we report a miRNA,miR-423,that inhibits the initiation of follicular atresia(FA),and early apoptosis of *** We showed that miR-423 was down-regulated during sow FA,and its levels in follicles were negatively correlated with the GC density and the P4/E2 ratio in the follicular fluid in *** in vitro gain-of-function experiments revealed that miR-423 suppresses cell apoptosis,especially early apoptosis in *** speaking,the miR-423 targets and interacts with the 3’-UTR of the porcine SMAD7 gene,which encodes an apoptosis-inducing factor in GCs,and represses its expression and pro-apoptotic ***,FA and the GC apoptosis-related lncRNA NORHA was demonstrated as a ceRNA of ***,we showed that a single base deletion/insertion in the miR-423 promoter is significantly associated with the number of stillbirths(NSB)trait of *** These results demonstrate that miR-423 is a small molecule for inhibiting FA initiation and GC early apoptosis,suggesting that treating with miR-423 may be a novel approach for inhibiting FA initiation and improving female fertility.

Inbreeding depression refers to the reduced performance arising from increased homozygosity,a phenomenon that is the reverse of heterosis and exists among plants and *** a natural self-pollinated crop with strong heterosis,the mechanism of inbreeding depression in rice is largely *** understand the genetic basis of inbreeding depression,we constructed a successive inbreeding population from the F_(2)to F_(4)generation and observed inbreeding depression of all heterotic traits in the progeny along with the decay of heterozygosity in each *** expected depression effect was largely explained by 13 QTLs showing dominant effects for spikelets per panicle,11 for primary branches,and 12 for secondary branches,and these loci constitute the main correlation between heterosis and inbreeding ***,the genetic basis of inbreeding depression is also distinct from that of heterosis,such that a biased transmission ratio of alleles for QTLs with either dominant or additive effects in four segregation distortion regions would result in minor effects in expected ***,two-locus interactions may change the extent and direction of the depression effects of the target loci,and overall interactions would promote inbreeding depression among *** an F_(2:3)variation population,the actual performance of the loci showing expected depression was evaluated considering the heterozygosity decay in the background after *** found inconsistent or various degrees of background depression from the F_(2)to F_(3)generation assuming different genotypes of the target locus,which may affect the actual depression effect of the locus due to *** results suggest that the genetic architecture of inbreeding depression and heterosis is closely linked but also differs in their intrinsic mechanisms,which expand our understanding of the whole-genome architecture of inbreeding depression.
