The interaction between sucrose, yeast extract and initial pH was investigated to optimize critical medium components for mycelium biomass and production of exopolysaccharide (EPS) of Lentinus squarrosulus using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). A central composite design (CCD) was applied and a polynomial regression model with quadratic term was used to analyse the experimental data using analysis of variance (ANOVA). ANOVA analysis showed that the model was very significant (p Lentinus squarrosulus are as follows: sucrose concentration 114.61 g/L, yeast extract 1.62 g/L and initial pH of 5.81;sucrose concentration 115.8 g/L, yeast extract of 3.39 g/L and initial pH of 6.44 respectively.

Importance:During the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)lockdown,changes in the visiting rules in neonatal units might have affected the initiation and continuation of ***:To investigate the effects of the implementation of the COVID-19 lockdown in the UK on mother’s own milk(MOM)feeding in hospital and at the time of discharge in two UK neonatal ***:Retrospective cohort study using routinely recorded data from electronic patient *** were retrieved from two neonatal services in the UK East Midlands *** logistic regression was used to compare the odds of MOM feeding before,and after the implementation of the UK ***:Among 2073 infants,after adjusting for maternal and infant characteristics and underlying trends over time,there were no differences in the odds of infants receiving any MOM during admission;any MOM at discharge or exclusive MOM at discharge before and after the imposition of the *** with birthweight2500 g(adjusted odds ratio[OR]0.33,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.22–0.50).Younger mothers were less likely,and Black British mothers more likely,to be feeding MOM to their infants at discharge,while women in the least deprived Index of Multiple Deprivation(IMD)quintiles were 2–4 times more likely to do so,compared to those in the most deprived IMD quintile(adjusted OR 2.78,95%CI:1.97–3.90).Interpretation:Despite the difficulties faced during COVID-19 pandemic-induced restrictions,infants in the participating neonatal units continued to receive MOM in similar proportions as before the pandemic.

AIM:To derive a Malaysia guideline and consensus as part of the Malaysia Retina Group's efforts for diagnosis,treatment,and best practices of diabetic macular edema(DME).The experts'panel suggests that the treatment algorithm to be divided into groups according to involvement the central *** purpose of DME therapy is to improve edema and achieve the best visual results with the least amount of treatment ***:On two different occasions,a panel of 14 retinal specialists from Malaysia,together with an external expert,responded to a questionnaire on management of DME.A consensus was sought by voting after compiling,analyzing and discussion on first-phase replies on the round table discussion.A recommendation was deemed to have attained consensus when 12 out of the 14 panellists(85%)agreed with ***:The terms target response,adequate response,nonresponse,and inadequate response were developed when the DME patients'treatment responses were first *** panelists reached agreement on a number of DME treatment-related issues,including the need to classify patients prior to treatment,firstline treatment options,the right time to switch between treatment modalities,and side effects associated with *** this agreement,recommendations were derived and a treatment algorithm was ***:A detail and comprehensive treatment algorithm by Malaysia Retina Group for the Malaysian population provides guidance for treatment allocation of patients with DME.

Groundwater Exploration Using 2-D Geoelectrical Resistivity Imaging Technique at Sungai. Udang, Melaka

Electrical resistivity imaging surveys have been conducted in order to locate, delineate subsurface water resource and estimate its reserve. The resistivity imaging surveys carried out basically measure and map the resistivity of subsurface materials. Electrical imaging is an appropriate survey technique for areas with complex geology where the use of resistivity sounding and other techniques are unsuitable to provide detailed subsurface information. The purpose of electrical surveys is to determine the subsurface resistivity distribution by making measurements on the ground surface. The resistivity imaging measurement employing Wenner electrode configuration was carried out using an ABEM SAS 1000 terrameter and electrode selector system ES464. The field survey was conducted along four profiles which provide a continuous coverage of the resistivity imaging below surface. The surface soil material is mainly clayey silt. The results showed that the layers associated with the low resistivities （Ωm） are located at depth ranging from 2 m to 28 m. This low resistivity values are associated with zone of water saturated weathered layer and fractures. The results showed that the thickness of residual soil is about 0.5-2.55 m. Borehole data indicated that the depth of bedrock is about 10 m and the groundwater level is ranging from 8.73 m to 8.54 m.

A long chain insect pheromone for subterranean termites, LC (Lignoceric Acid), was intercalated into the inorganic interlayer, ZLH (Zinc Layered Hydroxide), resulting in the formation of a new nanohybrid, labelled as LCN (Lignocerate Nanohybrid). The formation of this inorganic-organic structure nanohybrid was synthesized by the co-precipitation method using ZnO (Zinc Oxide) as the starting material. The PXRD (Powder X-Ray Diffraction) results confirmed the intercalation process although the diffraction patterns of the resultant nanohybrid and the unbound pheromone were fairly similar but both have different basal spacings values. The FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) profiles and the chemical composition test supported the intercalation process with the percentage loading of LC into ZLH calculated to be 85%. The thermal stability of the free anion, LC was enhanced when it was transformed into LCN, increasing from 257 °C to 352 °C. The release of LC from the nanohybrid behaved in a sustained manner, governed by the pseudo-second order kinetic model with higher release of LC in sodium carbonate solution than the pH aqueous media. The synthesized nanohybrid was found to be safe for plant germination when the two seed types were successfully germinated in all the tested nanohybrid concentrations. However, the percentage seed germination and the radical seed length from the nanohybrid showed lower values compared to its counterpart anion, LC.

目的:报告罕见突眼急性发作病例继发于皮下脂膜炎样T细胞淋巴瘤(SPTCL)1例。方法:病例报告。结果:患者,男,27岁,马来人,左眼眼球突出急性发病2wk。伴随长期高烧病史。在此期间他的身体和双大腿还多发肿胀红斑。双眼视力为6/6。左眼眼球突出和球结膜水肿。各个方向眼外运动受限。角膜和眼前段正常。眼底检查显示正常视盘和视网膜。右眼检查为正常。体温40.0℃,全身多发皮下红斑病灶主要分布在左腋下、右季肋部、双大腿和耻骨上区。腹股沟淋巴结也是可触及的。脑磁共振成像显示左冠外和眶后广泛软组织肿胀,暗示着炎症反应。海绵窦和大脑正常。红斑病灶处皮肤切片揭示为SPTCL。其被提交给血液病医师,并开始CHOP方案化疗。患者化疗反应良好,眼球突出复位。结论:眼球突出继发于SPTCL是非常罕见的。这是一个外周T细胞淋巴瘤的变异,特点是多发皮下结节表现为眼球突出和发烧。

Optimization of Mycelial Biomass Production in Submerged Culture Fermentation of <i>Pleurotus flabellatus</i>Using Response Surface Methodology

The factors selected to optimize the productivity of Pleurotus flabellatus biomass in 250ml working volume Erlenmeyer flask were agitation rate, initial pH value and incubation temperature. The central composite design was applied to study the significant factors and the interactions between the chosen factors, if present. The Design Expert software generated 20 runs. The optimized conditions obtained were as follows: the agitation rate of 129.8 rpm, incubation temperature at 27.8°C, and initial pH of 6.06. The optimized conditions tripled the productivity at the range of 980 - 1040 mg/litre/day compared to the initial rate productivity at 310 mg/litre/day. From the quadratic equation,the agitation rate, temperature and the interaction between agitation rate and temperature were found to be significant (p < 0.05). At optimum conditions, the experimental data supported the theoretical estimate.

The fruit industry has been known as one of the largest businesses in Malaysia,where most of the fruits pass through the peeling process well in advance before the final product as juice in a bottle or slices in a *** current industrial fruit peeling techniques are passive and inefficient by cutting parts of the pulp of the fruit with peels leading to *** avoid this issue,a multi-axis CNC fruit peeler can be used to precisely peel the outer layer with the guidance of a 3D virtual model of *** this work,a new cost-effective method of 3D image reconstruction was developed to convert 36 fruit images captured by a normal RGB camera to a 3D model by capturing a single image every 10 degrees of fruit rotation along a fixed *** point cloud data extracted with edge detection were passed to Blender 3D software for meshing in different *** vertical link frame meshing method developed in this research proved a qualitative similarity between the output result and the scanned fruit in a processing time of less than 50 seconds.

IC Reporting in Traditional Sectors of Malaysian Public Listed Firms

One of the significant effects of the knowledge economy is the introduction of new business models with resulting creation of intangible resources represented by intellectual assets. In spite of its clear contribution to a firm＇s sustainability of performance, recognition of these intellectual assets in the financial statements do not correspond with their significance as they have to rigid criteria set by conventional accounting standards. This study seeks to assess the level of intellectual capital （IC） resources reported in Malaysian companies in the traditional sectors of the economy and examine their reporting trends in the annual reports of these companies from years 2003 and 2008 Data was collected from companies listed in the main board of Malaysia Stock Exchange （or Bursa Malaysia） and content analysis was applied. Results show that the extent of IC reporting in the annual accounts of listed companies in traditional sectors is slightly above average.
