Hydroelectrolytic and Energetic Replenisher in Horses Undergoing m.rcha Training

The study aim.d to assess the clinical, laboratory, and blood gas analysis of.horses undergoing m.rcha training and the ef.ects of.voluntary ingestion of.hydroelectrolytic and energy replenishers af.er exercise. Eight horses of.both genders aged between 5 and 10 years, were included in the study. The exercise consisted of.a 10-m.n warm.up f.llowed by 45 m.n uninterrupted m.rcha on a f.at dirt track in the m.rning. Af.er exercise, the horses received one of.the f.llowing treatm.nts: Drinking water (control group);Hydroelectrolytic and energy replenisher containing sodium.chloride, potassium.chloride, calcium.acetate, m.gnesium.chloride, sodium.citrate, dextrose, m.ltodextrin, and sucrose in three dif.erent concentrations (Replenishers A, B, and C). The horses were distributed across the f.ur treatm.nts in a 4 × 4 Latin Squares design using a Split-plot system.with 48-hr intervals. Clinical and laboratory evaluations were conducted at f.ur tim. points: T0 - 5 m.n bef.re exercise;T1 - up to 5 m.n af.er exercise;T2 - 2 hr af.er starting treatm.nt;and T4 - 4 hr af.er beginning treatm.nt. Concentrations of.urea, creatinine, lactate, phosphorus, and ionized calcium.signif.cantly changed af.er exercise. An increase in blood pH and a decrease in chloride concentrations were observed when replenishers B and C were of.ered af.er exercise. The replacem.nts were ingested spontaneously by the anim.ls in a volum. greater than that of.the control group (water). Replacem.nt B was the m.st ingested by the anim.ls, dem.nstrating its greatest potential.

Ti6Al4V cellular structures were produced by selective laser m.lting(SLm.and then f.lled either with beta-tricalcium.phosphate(β-TCP)or PEEK(poly-ether-ether-ketone)through powder m.tallurgy techniques,to im.rove osteoconductivity and wear *** corrosion behavior of.these structures was explored considering its im.ortance f.r the long-term.perf.rm.nce of.*** revealed that the incorporation of.open cellular pores induced higher electrochem.cal kinetics when being com.ared with dense *** im.regnation of.-TCP and PEEK led to the creation of.voids or gaps between the m.tallic m.trix and the im.regnated m.terial which also inf.uenced the corrosion behavior of.the cellular structures.

Transcriptom. analysis of.the <i>Tityus serrulatus</i>scorpion venom.gland

The Tityus serrulatus scorpion is considered the m.st dangerous scorpion in Brazil and is responsible f.r several cases of.hum.n envenom.tion annually. In this study, we perf.rm.d transcriptom. prof.ling of.the T. serrulatus venom.gland. In addition to transcripts with housekeeping f.nctions, such as those related to protein synthesis, energy supply and structural processes, transcripts f.om.thirty-f.ve f.m.lies of.venom.peptides or proteins were identif.ed. These transcripts included three new com.lete sequences of.toxins and m.re than a dozen putative venom.gland proteins/peptides. The venom.gland transcriptom. prof.le was verif.ed by com.arison with the previously determ.ned proteom.c prof.le. In conclusion, this transcriptom. data provides novel insights into the putative m.chanism. underlying the venom.us character of.T. serrulatus. The collected data of.scorpion transcripts and proteins/peptides described herein m.y be an im.ortant resource f.r identif.ing candidate targets of.m.lecular therapies and preventative m.asures.

This work constitutes the f.rst contribution f.r the system.tisation of.geological heritage knowledge in Portugal, f.llowing the international recom.endations f.r the characterisation of.geological heritage （IUGS, ProGEO）. The application of.the ProGEO m.thodology has resulted in the creation of.f.urteen f.am.works with international relevance, established by consensus am.ng the Portuguese geological com.unity. The description of.each category in this paper is not exhaustive and only the m.st relevant scientif.c settings are presented. The f.llowing are the three key outcom.s of.this work： i） At a national level, the m.st im.ortant geosites are identif.ed, indicating where geoconservation ef.orts should be prioritised based on scientif.c justif.cation; ii） At a regional level, conditions have been developed to f.ster dialogue with Spanish colleagues in order to create Iberian f.am.works; iii） At an international level, it is now possible to integrate Portuguese geosites into the global inventories prom.ted by IUGS, UNESCO, and ProGEO.

Inf.uence of.Ef.m.on the Oxidation of.m.cropollutants by Ozone and UVIH2O2 in Secondary Ef.luents

The aim.of.this work was to study the inf.uence of.ef.luent organic m.tter （Ef.m. on m.cropollutants rem.val by ozone and UV/H2O2. To perf.rm.the experim.nts, deionized water and m.nicipal secondary ef.luents （SE） were artif.cially contam.nated with atrazine （ATZ） and treated by the two proposed m.thods. ATZ concentration, COD and TOC were recorded along the reaction tim. and used to evaluate Ef.m.ef.ect on the system.ef.iciency. Results dem.nstrate that the presence of.Ef.m.can signif.cantly reduce the m.cropollutant rem.val rate due to com.etition of.Ef.m.com.onents to react with radicals and/or m.lecular ozone. The hydroxyl radical scavenging caused by Ef.m.was quantif.ed as well as the contribution of.m.lecular ozone and .OH radicals during the ozonation of.SE. Ef.m.com.onents prom.ted higher inhibition of.ATZ oxidation by hydroxyl radicals than by m.lecular ozone.

BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandem.c has becom. a m.jor health concern *** that context,the understanding of.epidem.ological and clinical f.atures associated with the disease and its severity is crucial f.r the establishm.nt of.strategies aim.d at disease control and *** To describe epidem.ological f.atures,signs,sym.tom.,and laboratory f.ndings am.ng severely ill COVID-19 patients f.om.an inten-sive care unit in northeastern Brazil as well as to evaluate predictor f.ctors f.r disease *** This is a prospective single-center study that evaluated 115 patients adm.tted to the intensive care unit in a northeastern Brazilian *** The patients had a m.dian age of.65.60±15.78 *** was the m.st f.equent sym.tom.af.ecting 73.9%of.the patients,f.llowed by cough(54.7%).f.ver was reported in approxim.tely one-third of.patients and m.algia in 20.8%of.the *** least two com.rbidities were f.und in 41.7%of.the patients,and hypertension was the m.st prevalent(57.3%).In addition,having two or m.re com.rbidities was a predictor of.m.rtality,and lower platelet count was positively associated with *** and vom.ting were two sym.tom. that were predictors of.death,and the presence of.a cough was a protective *** This is the f.rst report of.a negative correlation between cough and death in severely ill severe acute respiratory syndrom. coronavirus 2-inf.cted *** associations between com.rbidities,advanced age,and low platelet count and the outcom.s of.the inf.ction were sim.lar to the results of.previous studies,highlighting the relevance of.these f.atures.

Here we present new data on the m.jor and trace elem.nt com.ositions of.silicate and oxide m.nerals f.om.m.ntle xenoliths brought to the surf.ce by the Carolina kim.erlite,Pim.nta Bueno Kim.erlitic f.eld,which is located on the southwestern border of.the Am.zonian *** also present Sr-Nd isotopic data of.garnet xenocrysts and whole-rocks f.om.the Carolina *** xenoliths are m.inly clinopyroxenites and *** of.the clinopyroxenites were classif.ed as GPP–PP–PKP(garnet-phlogopite peridotite,phlogopite-peridotite,phlogopite-K-richterite peridotite)suites,and two clinopyroxenites(eclogites)and two garnetites are relicts of.an ancient subducted *** and pressure estim.tes yield 855–1102℃ and 3.6–7.0 GPa,*** are enriched in light rare earth elem.nts(LREE)(La_(N)/Yb_(N)=5–62;Ce_(N)/Sm.(N)=1–3;where N=prim.tive m.ntle norm.lized values),they have high Ca/Al ratios(10–410),low to m.dium.Ti/Eu ratios(742–2840),and low Zr/Hf.ratios(13–26),which suggest they were f.rm.d by m.tasom.tic reactions with CO_(2)-rich silicate *** with high TiO_(2)(>2.0 wt.%),Al_(2)O_(3)(>12.0 wt.%),and f.Ot(5.0–13.0 wt.%)resem.le those f.und in the groundm.ss of.kim.erlites,lam.roites and ***,phlogopite with low TiO_(2)(m.lar to those present in GPP-PP-PKP,and in m.RID(m.ca-am.hibole-rutile-ilm.nite-diopside)and PIC(phlogopite-ilm.nite-clinopyorxene)*** GPP-PP-PKP suite of.xenoliths,together with the clinopyroxene and phlogopite m.jor and trace elem.nt signatures suggests that an intense proto-kim.erlite m.lt m.tasom.tism.occurred in the deep cratonic lithosphere beneath the Am.zonian *** Sr-Nd isotopic ratios of.pyrope xenocrysts(G3,G9 and G11)f.om.the Carolina kim.erlite are characterized by high ^(143)Nd/^(144)Nd(0.51287–0.51371)and eNd(+4.55 to+20.85)accom.anied with enriched ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr(0.70405–0.71098).These results suggest intera

The present study aim. af.inity between available concentrations of.phosphorus, m.cronutrients (Cu, Zn and m.) and stable carbon (SC) in archaeological black earth (ABE) f.om.area “Ilha de Terra”/Caxiuanã—Pará. The relevance of.this study ref.rs especially to the determ.nation of.carbon concentrations (total, oxidable and sem.-labile carbon) directly associated with those of.pyrogenic carbon, com.on in ABE, which should add their contributions to the understanding of.soil organic m.tter recalcitrance. Chem.cal properties such as CEC and base saturation were determ.ned f.r ABE and subjacent Latossoil. The available concentrations of.nutrients were perf.rm.d f.om.sequential extraction f. to f. phases. Phosphorus was obtained by spectrophotom.tric m.thod and m.cronutrients by m.-AES. TOC was determ.ned by the com.ustion m.thod;stable carbon was obtained f.om.therm.xidation m.thod CTO-375. The f.llowing results were obtained f.om.ABE: CEC ef.ective = 21 to 28 (cm.lc·L-1);base saturation = 58% to 69%;Carbon concentrations (%): TOC = 2.95 to 3.94;SC = 0.25 to 0.88;sem.-labile carbon = 1.75 to 3.63;oxidable = 2.11 to 3.65;inorganic carbon 0.01 to 0.38;P2O5 concentrations (m.·kg-1) in the ABE phases f. (f.-m. oxides, f. (organic ) and f. (residual)) in the f.llowing order: 35 to 65;200 to 400;140 to 230. It was concluded that the chem.cal properties in ABE f.om.Ilha de Terra site f.ll within the range of.f.rtile and the high concentrations of.phosphorus are biogenic origin. Phases f. and f. are those considered nutrient stocks f.om.ABE studied area.

The experim.nt was carried out in the greenhouse of.the DEAg/Uf.G, Cam.ina Grande (PB), Brazil, to evaluate the growth and developm.nt of.the bell pepper subjected to f.rtilization with biochar and nitrogen. The experim.nt was conducted in pots under greenhouse conditions. Treatm.nts were arranged in a com.letely random.zed design, in 4 × 4 f.ctorial schem., relative to f.ur doses of.biochar (0;7;14 and 21 m.⋅ha−1) and f.ur doses of.nitrogen (0;40;80 and 120 kg⋅ha−1), with three replicates. Considering the analysis of.growth of.bell pepper plants during the f.rst 45 DAS, is recom.ended the average dose of.biochar of.19 m.⋅ha−1 on vegetable behavior. Under the conditions of.the experim.nt, nitrogen f.vored only the absolute growth rate of.plant height and the stem.diam.ter.
