control of dust in underground coal mines is critical for mitigating both safety and health *** decades,the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH)has led research to evaluate the effectiveness of various dust control technologies in coal *** studies have included the evaluation of auxiliary scrubbers to reduce respirable dust downstream of active mining and the use of canopy air curtains(cAcs)to reduce respirable dust in key operator *** detailed dust characterization was not a focus of such studies,this is a growing area of *** preserved filter samples from three previous NIOSH studies,the current work aims to explore the effect of two different scrubbers(one wet and one dry)and a roof bolter cAc on respirable dust composition and particle size *** this,the preserved filter samples were analyzed by thermogravimetric analysis and/or scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive *** indicate that dust composition was not appreciably affected by either scrubber or the ***,the wet scrubber and cAc appeared to decrease the overall particle size *** an effect of the dry scrubber was not consistently observed,but this is probably related to the particular sampling location downstream of the scrubber which allowed for significant mixing of the scrubber exhaust and other return *** from the insights gained with respect to the three specific dust control case studies revisited here,this work demonstrates the value of preserved dust samples for follow-up investigation more broadly.

This paper investigates the consensus control of multi-agent systems(MASs) with constrained input using the dynamic event-triggered mechanism(ETM).consider the MASs with small-scale networks where a centralized dynamic ETM with global information of the MASs is first ***,a distributed dynamic ETM which only uses local information is developed for the MASs with large-scale *** is shown that the semi-global consensus of the MASs can be achieved by the designed bounded control protocol where the Zeno phenomenon is eliminated by a designable minimum inter-event *** addition,it is easier to find a trade-off between the convergence rate and the minimum inter-event time by an adjustable ***,the results are extended to regional consensus of the MASs with the bounded control *** simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Segregation is a serious defect in alloy ingots which severely deteriorates materials *** segregation defect in Mg-6Gd alloy is studied by coupling macro thermal-solutal-convection transport and micro dendrite *** macroscopic fluid dynamics and mass transfer equations are resolved to forecast the segregation behavior under conditions of continuous temperature variation during the solidification *** numerical model is validated by testing double-diffusive natural convection in a closed square cavity.A phase field model is then applied to simulate the micro dendrite growth,using macro undercooling and liquid flow velocity as boundary *** show that the multiscale segregation behavior,including macro solute distribution and micro dendritic morphology,is strongly dependent on the temperature condition and the liquid convection,which provides guidance for reducing and eliminating the segregation defect.

Reconcile the contradictory wettability requirements for the reduction and oxidation half-reactions in overall cO_(2) photoreduction via alternately hydrophobic surfaces

The overall photocatalytic cO_(2) reduction reaction(OPcRR)that can directly convert cO_(2) and H_(2)O into fuels represents a promising renewable energy conversion *** a typical redox reaction,the OPcRR involves two half-reactions:the cO_(2) reduction half-reaction(cRHR)and the water oxidation half-reaction(wOHR).Generally,both half-reactions can be promoted by adjusting the wettability of ***,there is a contradiction in wettability requirements for the two ***,cRHR prefers a hydrophobic surface that can accumulate more cO_(2) molecules on the active sites,ensuring the appropriate ratio of gas-phase(cO_(2))to liquid-phase(H_(2)O)***,the wOHR prefers a hydrophilic surface that can promote the departure of the gaseous product(O_(2))from the catalyst surface,preventing isolation between active sites and the reactant(H_(2)O).Here,we successfully reconciled the contradictory wettability requirements for the cRHR and wOHR by creating an alternately hydrophobic *** was achieved through a selectively hydrophobic modification method and a charge-transfer-control ***,the collaboratively promoted cRHR and wOHR led to a significantly enhanced OPcRR with a solar-to-fuel conversion efficiency of 0.186%.Notably,in ethanol production,the catalyst exhibited a 10.64-fold increase in generation rate(271.44μmol g^(-1)h~(-1))and a 4-fold increase in selectivity(55.77%)compared to the benchmark *** innovative approach holds great potential for application in universal overall reactions involving gas participation.

In this study, an adaptive neural network(NN) control is proposed for nonlinear two-degree-offreedom(2-DOF) helicopter systems considering the input constraints and global prescribed ***, radial basis function NN(RBFNN) is employed to estimate the unknown dynamics of the helicopter system. Second, a smooth nonaffine function is exploited to approximate and address nonlinear constraint functions. Subsequently, a new prescribed function is proposed, and an original constrained error is transformed into an equivalent unconstrained error using the error transformation and barrier function transformation methods. The analysis of the established lyapunov function proves that the controlled system is globally uniformly bounded. Finally, the simulation and experimental results on a constructed Quanser's test platform verify the rationality and feasibility of the proposed control.

The efficiency of photocatalytic cO_(2) reduction reaction(PcRR)is restricted by the low solubility and mobility of cO_(2) in water,poor cO_(2) adsorption capacity of catalyst,and competition with hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Recently,hydrophobic modification of the catalyst surface has been proposed as a potential solution to induce the formation of triple-phase contact points(TPcPs)of cO_(2)(gas phase),H_(2) O(liquid phase),and catalysts(solid phase)near the surface of the catalyst,enabling direct delivery of highly concentrated cO_(2) molecules to the active reaction sites,resulting in higher cO_(2) and lower H+surface *** TPcPs thus act as the ideal reaction points with enhanced PcRR and suppressed ***,the initial synthesis of triple-phase photocatalysts tends to possess a lower bulk density of TPcPs due to the simple structure leading to limited active points and cO_(2) adsorption ***,based on constructing a hydrophobic hierarchical porous TiO_(2)(o-HPT)with interconnected macropores and mesopores structure,we have significantly increased the density of TPcPs in a unit volume of the *** with hydrophobic macroporous TiO_(2)(o-MacPT)or mesoporous TiO_(2)(o-MesPT),the o-HPT with increased TPcP density leads to enhanced photoactivity,enabling a high methanol production rate with 1111.5μmol g^(−1) h^(−1) from *** results emphasize the significance of high-density TPcPs design and propose a potential path for developing efficient PcRR systems.

colorectal cancer(cRc) is the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Dendritic cells(Dcs) constitute a heterogeneous group of antigen-presenting cells that are important for initiating and regulating both innate and adaptive immune responses. As a crucial component of the immune system, Dcs have a pivotal role in the pathogenesis and clinical treatment of cRc. Dcs cross-present tumor-related antigens to activate T cells and trigger an antitumor immune response. However, the antitumor immune function of Dcs is impaired and immune tolerance is promoted due to the presence of the tumor microenvironment. This review systematically elucidates the specific characteristics and functions of different Dc subsets, as well as the role that Dcs play in the immune response and tolerance within the cRc microenvironment. Moreover, how Dcs contribute to the progression of cRc and potential therapies to enhance antitumor immunity on the basis of existing data are also discussed, which will provide new perspectives and approaches for immunotherapy in patients with cRc.

cancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide,and tumour metastasis is responsible for more than 90%of cancer deaths.1,2 Bone is recognised as the most common site for metastasis of numerous malignancies,especially breast and prostate cancer.3,4 As a highly dynamic compartment,the bone microenvironment not only facilitates primary metastasis but also enhances secondary metastasis to organs,such as the brain,liver,and lung,liver,and brain.5-7 Therefore,effectively preventing critical bone metastasis is pivotal for impeding systemic tumour spread.
