Analysis of the interaction between bolt-reinforced rock and surface support in tunnels based on convergence-confinement method

To investigate the interaction of the bolt-reinforced rock and the surface support,an analytical model of the convergence-confinement type is proposed,considering the sequential installation of the fully grouted rockbolts and the surface *** rock mass is assumed to be elastic-brittle-plastic material,obeying the linear Mohr-Coulomb criterion or the non-linear Hoek-Brown *** to the strain states of the tunnel wall at bolt and surface support installation and the relative magnitude between the bolt length and the plastic depth during the whole process,six cases are categorized upon solving the *** case is divided into three stages due to the different effects of the active rockbolts and the passive surface *** fictitious pressure is introduced to quantify the threedimensional(3D)effect of the tunnel face,and thus,the actual physical location along the tunnel axis of the analytical section can be *** using the bolt-rock strain compatibility and the rocksurface support displacement compatibility conditions,the solutions of longitudinal tunnel displacement and the reaction pressure of surface support along the tunnel axis are *** proposed analytical solutions are validated by a series of 3D numerical *** parametric studies are conducted to examine the effect of the typical parameters of rockbolts and surface support on the tunnel displacement and the reaction pressure of the surface support under different rock *** results show that the rockbolts are more effective in controlling the tunnel displacement than the surface support,w.ich should be installed as soon as possible with a suitable *** tunnels excavated in weak rocks or with restricted displacement control requirements,the surface support should also be installed or closed timely with a certain *** proposed method provides a convenient alternative approach for the optimization of rockbolts and surface support

Study on Quantitative Precipitation Estimation by Polarimetric Radar Using Deep Learning

Accurate radar quantitative precipitation estimation(QPE)plays an essential role in disaster prevention and *** this paper,two deep learning-based QPE networks including a single-parameter network and a multi-parameter network are ***,a self-defined loss function(SLF)is proposed during *** dataset includes Shijiazhuang S-band dual polarimetric radar(CiNRAD/SAD)data and rain gauge data within the radar’s 100-km detection range during the flood season of 2021 in North *** that the specific propagation phase shift(KDP)has a roughly linear relationship with the precipitation intensity,KDP is set to 0.5°km^(-1 )as a threshold value to divide all the rain data(AR)into a heavy rain(HR)and light rain(LR)***,12 deep learning-based QPE models are trained according to the input radar parameters,the precipitation datasets,and whether an SLF was adopted,*** results suggest that the effects of QPE after distinguishing rainfall intensity are better than those without distinguishing,and the effects of using SLF are better than those that used MSE as a loss function.A Z-R relationship and a ZH-KDP-R synthesis method are compared with deep learning-based *** mean relative errors(MRE)of AR models using SLF are improved by 61.90%,51.21%,and 56.34%compared with the Z-R relational method,and by 38.63%,42.55%,and 47.49%compared with the synthesis ***,the models are further evaluated in three precipitation processes,w.ich manifest that the deep learning-based models have significant advantages over the traditional empirical formula methods.

Ghost-YOLO v8: An Attention-Guided Enhanced Small Target Detection Algorithm for Floating Litter on water Surfaces

Addressing the challenges in detecting surface floating litter in artificial lakes, including complex environments, uneven illumination, and susceptibility to noise and weather, this paper proposes an efficient and lightw.ight Ghost-YOLO (You Only Look Once) v8 algorithm. The algorithm integrates advanced attention mechanisms and a small-target detection head to significantly enhance detection performance and efficiency. Firstly, an SE (Squeeze-and-Excitation) mechanism is incorporated into the backbone network to fortify the extraction of resilient features and precise target localization. This mechanism models feature channel dependencies, enabling adaptive adjustment of channel importance, thereby improving recognition of floating litter targets. Secondly, a 160 × 160 small-target detection layer is designed in the feature fusion neck to mitigate semantic information loss due to varying target scales. This design enhances the fusion of deep and shallow semantic information, improving small target feature representation and enabling better capture and identification of tiny floating litter. Thirdly, to balance performance and efficiency, the GhostConv module replaces part of the conventional convolutions in the feature fusion neck. Additionally, a novel C2fGhost (CSPDarknet53 to 2-Stage Feature Pyramid Networks Ghost) module is introduced to further reduce network parameters. Lastly, to address the challenge of occlusion, a new loss function, wioU (wise intersection over Union) v3 incorporating a flexible and non-monotonic concentration approach, is adopted to improve detection rates for surface floating litter. The outcomes of the experiments demonstrate that the Ghost-YOLO v8 model proposed in this paper performs well in the dataset Marine, significantly enhances precision and recall by 3.3 and 7.6 percentage points, respectively, in contrast with the base model, mAP@0.5 and mAP 0.5:0.95 improve by 5.3 and 4.4 percentage points and reduces the computational volu

Quick and automatic detection of co-seismic landslides with multifeature deep learning model

Co-seismic landslide detection is essential for post-disaster rescue and risk assessment after an earthquake ***,a variety of ground objects,including roads and bare land,have spectral characteristics similar to those of co-seismic landslides,making it difficult to gather information and assess their impact rapidly and ***,an automatic detection method based on a deep learning model,named ENViNet5,with multiple features(ENViNet5_MF)was proposed to solve this problem and improve the detection accuracy of co-seismic *** ENViNet5_MF method is advantageous for co-seismic landslide detection because it features a landslide gain index(LGi)that effectively eliminates the spectral interference of bare land and *** conducted two experiments using multi-temporal PlanetScope images acquired in Hokkaido,Japan,and Mainling,*** accuracy evaluation and rationality analysis show that ENViNet5_MF performed better than comparative methods and that the co-seismic landslide areas detected by ENViNet5_MF were the most consistent with ground reference *** findings of this study suggest that ENViNet5_MF can provide an efficient and accurate method for coseismic landslide detection to ensure a rapid response to co-seismic landslide disasters.

Mitigation of Optical Multipath interference Algorithms in iM-DD Transmission System

This paper aimed to propose two algorithms,DA-M and RF-M,of reducing the impact of multipath interference(MPi)on intensity modulation direct detection(iM-DD)systems,particularly for four-level pulse amplitude modulation(PAM4)***-M reduced the fluctuation by averaging the signal in blocks,RF-M estimated MPi by subtracting the decision value of the corresponding block from the mean value of a signal block,and then generated interference-reduced samples by subtracting the interference signal from the product of the corresponding MPi estimate and then w.ighting *** paper firstly proposed to separate the signal before decision-making into multiple blocks,w.ich significantly reduced the complexity of DA-M and *** results showed that the MPi noise of 28 GBaud iMDD system under the linewidths of 1e5 Hz,1e6 Hz and 10e6 Hz can be effectively alleviated.

Analysis of Maximum Liquid Carrying Capacity Based on Conventional Tubing Plunger Gas Lift

China’s unconventional gas fields have a large number of low-productivity and low-efficiency wells, many of w.ichare located in remote and environmentally harsh mountainous areas. To address the long-term stable productionof these gas wells, plunger-lift technology plays an important role. in order to fully understand and accurately graspthe drainage and gas production mechanisms of plunger-lift, a mechanical model of plunger-liquid column uplift inthe plunger-lift process was established, focusing on conventional plunger-lift systems and representative wellboreconfigurations in the Linxing region. The operating casing pressure of the plunger-lift process and the calculationmethod for the maximum daily fluid production rate based on the work regime with the highest fluid recovery ratewere determined. For the first time, the critical flow rate method was proposed as a constraint for the maximumliquid-carrying capacity of the plunger-lift, and liquid-carrying capacity charts for conventional plunger-lift withdifferent casing sizes were developed. The results showed that for 23/8 casing plunger-lift, with a well depth ofshallower than 808 m, the maximum drainage rate was 33 m3/d;for 27/8 casing plunger-lift, with a well depth ofshallower than 742 m, the maximum drainage rate was 50.15 m3/d;for 31/2 casing plunger-lift, with a well depthof shallower than 560 m, the maximum drainage rate was 75.14 m3/d. This research provides a foundation for thescientific selection of plunger-lift technology and serves as a decision-making reference for developing reasonableplunger-lift work regimes.

Citrus yellow vein clearing virus(CYVCV)is a new citrus virus that has become an important factor restricting the development of China’s citrus industry,and the CYVCV coat protein(CP)is associated with viral *** this study,the Eureka lemon zinc finger protein(ZFP)ClDOF3.4 was shown to interact with CYVCV CP in vivo and in *** expression of ClDOF3.4 in Eureka lemon induced the expression of salicylic acid(SA)-related and hypersensitive response marker genes,and triggered a reactive oxygen species burst,ion leakage necrosis,and the accumulation of free ***,the CYVCV titer in ClDOF3.4 transgenic Eureka lemon plants was approximately 69.4%that in control plants 6 mon after inoculation,with only mild leaf chlorotic spots observed in those transgenic *** together,the results indicate that ClDOF3.4 not only interacts with CP but also induces an immune response in Eureka lemon by inducing the SA *** is the first report that ZFP is involved in the immune response of a citrus viral disease,w.ich provides a basis for further study of the molecular mechanism of CYVCV infection.

Extrachromosomal DNA(ecDNA) is a form of circular DNA mostly found in tumor cells. Unlike the typical chromosomal DNA, ecDNA is circular, self-replicating, and carries complete or partial gene fragments. Although ecDNA occurrence remains a rare event in cancer, recent studies have shown that oncogene amplification on ecDNA is widespread throughout many types of cancer, implying that ecDNA plays a central role in accelerating tumor evolution. ecDNA has also been associated with increased tumor mutation burden, chromosomal instability, and even tumor microenvironment remodeling. ecDNA may be crucial in influencing tumor heterogeneity, drug sensitivity,oncogenic senescence, and tumor immunogenicity, leading to a worsening prognosis for tumor patients. in this way, several clinical trials have been conducted to investigate the importance of ecDNA in clinical treatment. in this review, we summarize the biogenesis, characteristics, and current research methods of ecDNA, discuss the vital role of ecDNA-caused tumor heterogeneity in cancers, and highlight the potential role of ecDNA in cancer therapy.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become a global issue and a severe threat to public ***, to date, no approved therapeutic drugs have been developed. Dietary interventions with naturalproducts have shown promise in preventing and treating NAFLD. Sulforaphane (SFN) is a phytocompoundwith antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and previous research has demonstrated that SFN canameliorate hepatic lipid accumulation and inflammation. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying thesebeneficial effects remain unclear. in this study, we confirmed the protective effects of SFN on excessive lipidaccumulation and inflammatory injury in a high-fat, high-fructose diet-induced non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) mouse model. we found that SFN attenuates the inflammatory injury in a macrophage cell line andthe liver of NASH mice, owing to the promotion of M1-type macrophage polarization toward the M2-type andthe regulation of inflammatory mediators. Further analysis demonstrated that this SFN-induced macrophageM2-type polarization occurs in a Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4)-dependent manner. in summary, we uncovereda new mechanism of action underlying SFN activity and provide evidence that dietary intervention with SFNmight be protective against NASH.
