Toxicity evaluation of ZnO and TiO_2 nanomaterials in hydroponic red bean(Vigna angularis) plant:Physiology, biochemistry and kinetic transport

The toxicity and kinetic uptake potential of zinc oxide（Zn O） and titanium dioxide（TiO2）nanomaterials into the red bean（Vigna angularis） plant were investigated. The results obtained revealed that Zn O, due to its high dissolution and strong binding capacity, readily accumulated in the root tissues and significantly inhibited the physiological activity of the plant. However, TiO2 had a positive effect on plant physiology, resulting in promoted growth. The results of biochemical experiments implied that Zn O, through the generation of oxidative stress, significantly reduced the chlorophyll content, carotenoids and activity of stress-controlling enzymes. On the contrary, no negative biochemical impact was observed in plants treated with TiO2. For the kinetic uptake and transport study, we designed two exposure systems in which Zn O and TiO2 were exposed to red bean seedlings individually or in a mixture approach. The results showed that in single metal oxide treatments, the uptake and transport increased with increasing exposure period from one week to three ***, in the metal oxide co-exposure treatment, due to complexation and competition among the particles, the uptake and transport were remarkably decreased. This suggested that the kinetic transport pattern of the metal oxide mixtures varied compared to those of its individual constituents.

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) emerges with the visionof the wireless Body Sensor Network (wBSN) to improve the health monitoringsystems and has an enormous impact on the healthcare system forrecognizing the levels of risk/severity factors (premature diagnosis, treatment,and supervision of chronic disease i.e., cancer) via wearable/electronic healthsensor i.e., wireless endoscopic capsule. However, AI-assisted endoscopy playsa very significant role in the detection of gastric cancer. Convolutional NeuralNetwork (CNN) has been widely used to diagnose gastric cancer based onvarious feature extraction models, consequently, limiting the identificationand categorization performance in terms of cancerous stages and gradesassociated with each type of gastric cancer. This paper proposed an optimizedAI-based approach to diagnose and assess the risk factor of gastric cancerbased on its type, stage, and grade in the endoscopic images for smarthealthcare applications. The proposed method is categorized into five phasessuch as image pre-processing, Four-Dimensional (4D) image conversion,image segmentation, K-Nearest Neighbour (K-NN) classification, and multigradingand staging of image intensities. Moreover, the performance of theproposed method has experimented on two different datasets consisting ofcolor and black and white endoscopic images. The simulation results verifiedthat the proposed approach is capable of perceiving gastric cancer with 88.09%sensitivity, 95.77% specificity, and 96.55% overall accuracy respectively.

Localization is crucial in wireless sensor networks for various applications,such as tracking objects in outdoor environments where GPS(Global Positioning System)or prior installed infrastructure is ***,traditional techniques involve many anchor nodes,increasing costs and reducing *** solutions do not address the selection of appropriate anchor nodes and selecting localized nodes as assistant anchor nodes for the localization process,which is a critical element in the localization ***,an inaccurate average hop distance significantly affects localization *** propose an improved DV-Hop algorithm based on anchor sets(AS-IDV-Hop)to improve the localization *** simulation analysis,we validated that the ASIDV-Hop proposed algorithm is more efficient in minimizing localization errors than existing *** ASIDV-Hop algorithm provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for localization in wireless Sensor *** strategically selecting anchor and assistant anchor nodes and rectifying the average hop distance,AS-IDV-Hop demonstrated superior performance,achieving a mean accuracy of approximately 1.59,which represents about 25.44%,38.28%,and 73.00%improvement over other algorithms,*** estimated localization error is approximately 0.345,highlighting AS-IDV-Hop’s *** substantial reduction in localization error underscores the advantages of implementing AS-IDV-Hop,particularly in complex scenarios requiring precise node localization.

Microwave steam pyrolysis(MSP)is an innovative thermochemical approach to converting biomass into high-quality biochar using steam to improve the dielectric heating of microwave *** shows high fixed carbon and carbon contents at a maximum temperature of 550℃in 10 *** MSP achieved a heating rate of 112℃/min from 200℃to 400℃to produce biochar ***,the thermal properties of biochar in microwave heating were investigated in this study to explore its potential as a microwave heat-absorbent *** is able to perform volumetric and controllable heating to the ***,biochar shows good microwave heat absorbency,storing and transferring heat *** temperature profile of three different sizes of biochar was investigated to examine the efficiency of biochar in heat absorption from microwave *** was found that the powder form of biochar showed a higher heat transfer rate of 40℃/min and a low cooling rate of 7.5℃/*** presented results are useful for evaluating the application of biochar as a promising medium for heat storage systems.

目的:观察海扇壳源性碳酸钙纳米微粒(CCNPs)对SD大鼠的毒性作用,初步探讨CCNPs的安全剂量和生物学效应。方法:将40只健康雄性SD大鼠随机分为对照组,低、中和高剂量CCNPs组(分别给予剂量0、30、60和120mg·kg^-1 CCNPs),每组10只大鼠。尾静脉注射给药每天1次,连续14d。检测各组大鼠体质量和日平均进摄食量、血液学指标、血清生化指标、器官相对质量及主要器官的组织病理形态表现。结果:在14d重复剂量的毒性试验中,高剂量组中有2只大鼠死亡,而在低和中剂量组中均未发现有大鼠死亡。各剂量CCNPs组大鼠体质量增加幅度和日平均进食量低于对照组,但差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。各剂量CCNPs组大鼠血清学指标与对照组比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。各剂量CCNPs组大鼠肺脏相对质量高于对照组(P<0.05);低和中剂量CCNPs组大鼠脾脏相对质量高于对照组(P<0.05);高剂量CCNPs组大鼠脾脏相对质量与对照组比较差异无统计学意义(P<0.05)。低剂量CCNPS组大鼠部分脏器呈轻度的炎性浸润,未发现明显的病理学改变;中和高剂量CCNPs组大鼠主要脏器呈明显的组织病理学改变,包括炎性细胞浸润,肝细胞排列轻度紊乱,肝细胞空泡增多,肺泡间质增厚及大量肉芽肿形成,心肌纤维肿胀、断裂甚至坏死,肾小球出现萎缩和裂隙等。结论:小剂量CCNPs静脉给药不会引起大鼠严重的急性毒性反应。
