Birds exhibit extraordinary mobility and remarkable navigational skills,obtaining guidance cues from the Earth’s magnetic field for orientation and long-distance *** species also show tremendous diversity in navigation strategies,with considerable differences even within the same taxa and among individuals from the same *** highly conserved iron and iron-sulfur cluster binding magnetoreceptor(MagR)protein is suggested to enable animals,including birds,to detect the geomagnetic field and navigate ***,MagR is also implicated in other functions,such as electron transfer and biogenesis of iron-sulfur clusters,raising the question of whether variability exists in its biochemical and biophysical features among species,particularly *** the current study,we conducted a comparative analysis of MagR from two different bird species,including the migratory European robin(Erithacus rubecula)and the homing pigeon(Columba livia).Sequence alignment revealed an extremely high degree of similarity between the MagRs of these species,with only three sequence ***,two of these variations underpinned significant differences in metal binding capacity,oligomeric state,and magnetic *** findings offer compelling evidence for the marked differences in MagR between the two avian species,potentially explaining how a highly conserved protein can mediate such diverse functions.

Based on the fact that it is challenging for the polymer flexible circuit substrates to meet the requirements of serving in high-temperature environments,this work proposed the idea of using printable ceramic fiber paper as a high-temperature flexible circuit substrate.A ceramic fiber paper with all ceramic components had been developed via electrospinning,solving the problems of low strength and severe strength drop at high temperatures of traditional ceramic fiber *** tensile strength of the prepared ceramic fiber paper is 2.63 Mpa,and the reliable service temperature is 1200℃.Its bulk density is about 1.5 times that of traditional ceramic fiber *** can be printed with patterns by commercial inkjet printers like ordinary printing paper and has excellent *** feasibility of ceramic fiber paper as a flexible circuit substrate was verified by constructing a simple *** the fiber paper is significantly bent,the circuit still forms a complete path,which proves that it has a strong application potential for high-temperature flexible circuit substrate and is expected to promote the development of flexible electronic devices serving at extreme high-temperature environments.

Microorganisms play an essential role in the glacier carbon cycle;how they transform organic matter in mountain glacial cryoconite remains to be ***,we applied ultra-high resolution Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(FT-ICR MS)and deep sequencing of 16S rRNA gene,to investigate the temporal microbial transformation of dissolved organic matter(DOM)of the Tibetan plateau *** the 60-day incubation,we found that DOM in cryoconite underwent a three-stage transformation,with decreasing bioavailability over *** microbial community did not change much in the first week while degrading DOM molecules that were associated with higher H/C_(wa)and lower O/C_(wa).During days 15-30,DOM composition remained stable while microbial diversity *** day 60,the DOM was microbially converted into a higher state of recalcitrance,with higher values of aromatic index,O/C_(wa),and lower H/C_(wa),which contained molecules containing more *** among various microbial taxa,like Cyanobacteria,Bacteroidota,Gammaproteobacteria,Firmicutes,and Actinobacteriota,drove the DOM transformation in *** study sheds light on the in-situ transformation of DOM composition meditated by microbial populations in cryoconite at a temporal scale,providing new insights into understanding the microbial roles in the glacier organic carbon transformation.

Three dimensional velocity model and its tectonic implications at China Seismic Experimental Site,eastern margin of the Tibetan plateau

The China Seismic Experimental Site(CSES)is located at the intersection of the Tibetan plateau,South China Block,and Indian plate and has complex geological settings and intense crustal deformation,making it one of the most seismically active areas in Chinese mainland.A high-resolution,three-dimensional(3D)crust-mantle velocity structure is crucial for understanding seismotectonic environments,lithospheric deformation mechanisms,and deep dynamic *** first constructed a high-vertical-resolution 3D initial velocity model using the joint inversion of receiver functions and surface waves and then obtained a 3D p-and S-wave velocity model(CSES-VM1.0)with the highest lateral resolution of 0.25°for the CSES using double-difference *** to the limitations of the Sn observation data,the resolution of the S-wave velocity model in the lower crust and upper mantle was reduced,making it closer to the initial model provided by joint inversion.A comparison with explosive-source seismic data showed that the synthetic p-wave first-arrival travel times of the new model were closer to the observations than those of the previous velocity *** velocity cross-sections across the source areas of the 2022 Lushan MS6.1 and Ludian MS6.8 earthquakes reveal that the former earthquake occurred near a weak contact zone between the Tibetan plateau and Sichuan Basin,and the rupture of the latter earthquake occurred in a granitic area,with the northern end blocked by rigid high-velocity bodies.A clear high-velocity anomaly zone is distributed along the western margin of the Yangtze Block,revealing the spatial distribution of Neoproterozoic intermediate-basic *** high-velocity zone significantly controls the morphology of fault zones and influences the rupture processes of major *** northeast-southwest and north-south trending high-velocity anomalies were found near panzhihua,potentially related to Neoproterozoic and Middle-Late permian intermediate

目的:利用含高浓度4-硝基喹啉-1-氧化物(4NQO)的水与固体饲料相结合方式,旨在探讨短时间构建高生存率舌癌小鼠模型的方法。方法:将12只BALB/c小鼠随机分为对照组(H2O,n=4)、中剂量实验组(250μg/mL 4NQO,n=4)和高剂量实验组(300μg/mL 4NQO,n=4),固液交替喂养,对小鼠的外貌、体质量和舌黏膜状态进行观察并记录,12周后处死小鼠,取材进行HE染色。结果:研究发现中剂量组的小鼠均造模成功,其中3只小鼠的舌黏膜出现乳头状样新生物,并且HE染色发现癌巢及角化珠的病理特征,余1只小鼠舌黏膜仅出现白斑样改变,病理表现为舌黏膜上皮重度异型增生。而高剂量组中的小鼠在造模过程中全部死亡。结论:250μg/mL 4NQO能在12周内成功诱导出舌癌小鼠模型,并能保证较高的生存率。

Low-concentration and multi-component NMHCs capture from oil field exhaust using porous zIF-8/iso-hexadecane slurry

Non-methane hydrocarbons(NMHCs)are a common type of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)pollutant in the petrochemical industry and have attracted widespread attention because of their adverse health effects and environmental *** this paper,we report a new porous slurry formed with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(zIF-8)and iso-hexadecane to capture the low-concentration and multi-component NMHCs(mainly ethane(C_(2)H_(6)),propane(C_(3)H_(8)),and n-butane(n-C_(4)H_(10)))from the oil field *** sorption capacity of C_(2)H_(6)in the slurry is significantly higher than that of nitrogen(N_(2))and methane(CH_(4)).Moreover,the slurry demonstrated a clear advantage for C_(2)H_(6)over N_(2)and CH_(4)in competitive adsorption through the pressure-drop *** the NMHCs capture experiments,the C_(3)H_(8)and n-C_(4)H_(10)concentrations after purification can be reduced to below 100 ppm,while the C_(2)H_(6)concentration can reach approximately 180 *** encouragingly,in the breakthrough tests,the slurry exhibits a perfect kinetic separation selectivity for multi-component ***,to avoid structural collapse of zIF-8 material during long-term use in acidic and wet environments,a certain amount of 2-methylimidazole was retained in the slurry as a protective agent in the material synthesis *** this way,the zIF-8 materials in the slurry can retain the stable characteristic structure in an aqueous and acidic environment and keep the capture capacity for NMHCs without *** believe the porous zIF-8/iso-hexadecane slurry is a promising capture agent for low-concentration and multi-component NMHCs with strong purification capacity and stability.
