A Note on the Relationship Between Temperature and water Vapor over Oceans, Including Sea Surface Temperature Effects

An ideal and simple formulation is successfully derived that well represents a quasi-linear relationship found between the domain-averaged water vapor, Q （ram）, and temperature, T （K）, fields for the three tropical oceans （i.e., the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans） based on eleven GEOS-3 [Goddard Earth Observing System （EOS） Version-3] global re-analysis monthly products. A Q - T distribution analysis is also performed for the tropical and extra-tropical regions based on in-situ sounding data and numerical simulations [GEOS-3 and the Goddard cumulus Ensemble （GcE） model]. A similar positively correlated Q - T distribution is found over the entire oceanic and tropical regions; however, Q increases faster with T for the former region. It is suspected that the tropical oceans may possess a moister boundary layer than the Tropics. The oceanic regime falls within the lower bound of the tropical regime embedded in a global, curvilinear Q - T relationship. A positive correlation is also found between T and sea surface temperature （SST）; however, for one degree of increase in T, SST is found to increase 1.1 degrees for a warmer ocean, which is slightly less than an increase of 1.25 degrees for a colder ocean. This seemingly indicates that more （less） heat is needed for an open ocean to maintain an air mass above it with a same degree of temperature rise during a colder （warmer） season [or in a colder （warmer） region]. Q and SST are also found to be positively correlated. Relative humidity （RH） exhibits similar behaviors for oceanic and tropical regions. RH increases with increasing SST and T over oceans, while it increases with increasing T in the Tropics. RH, however, decreases with increasing temperature in the extratropics. It is suspected that the tropical and oceanic regions may possess a moister local boundary layer than the extratropics so that a faster moisture increase than a saturated moisture increase is favored for the former regions. 将碱性橙与抗体的作用、碱性橙与牛血清白蛋白(BSA)间的作用分别作为特异性作用和非特异性作用模型,采用荧光光谱法固定激发波长为280 nm,扫描不同温度下碱性橙与抗体和牛血清白蛋白两种相互作用,在300～600 nm的发射波长,比较了两种相互作用的差异。结果表明,碱性橙与抗体结合为单一的静态猝灭过程,二者之间的作用力主要为静电作用力;在溶液中,二者以摩尔比1∶1结合,结合常数为3.88×104L/mol(25#c),3.73×104L/mol(37#c)和2.35×104L/mol(45#c);碱性橙距抗体分子色氨酸残基最短距离(r)为5.52 nm。碱性橙与BSA的结合也为静态猝灭,作用力为静电作用力。但碱性橙与抗体作用过程中形成了激基复合物,与BSA则不形成激基复合物。

Effect of heparin on apoptosis in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cNE2 cells

In order to study the mechanism of the effect of heparin on apoptosis in carcinoma cells, the nasopha- ryngeal carcinoma cell line cNE2 was used to identify the effect of heparin on apoptosis associated with the expression of c-myc,bax, bcl-2 proteins by use of Hoechst 33258 staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferasemediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL), agarose gel electrophoresis, and flow cytometry, as well as western blot analysis. The results showed that heparin induced apoptosis of cNE2 cens including the morphologic changes such as reduction in the volume, and the nuclear chromatin condensation, as well as the 'ladder pattern' revealed by agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA in a concentration-dependent manner. The number of TUNEL-positive cells was dramatically increased to 33.6+1.2% from 2.8+0.3% by treat- ment with heparin in different concentrations (10~40 kU/L). The apoptotic index was increased to 32.5% from 3.5% by detecting SubG1 peaks on flow cytometry. western blot analysis showed that levels of bcl-2, bax and c-myc were significantly overexpressed by treatment with the increase of heparin concentrations. These results suggest that heparin induces apoptosis of cNE2 cells, which may be regulated by differential expression of apoptosis-related genes.

Role of co-expression of c-Myc, EZH2 and p27 in prognosis of prostate cancer patients after surgery

Background c-Myc, EZH2 and p27 were defined to modulate anti-tumoral effects and had ability in predicting prostate cancer value of prognosis is rarely. This study aimed to investigate the patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer after surgery. the behavior of prostate cancer with pro-tumoral or progression, but the research of their co-expression prognostic value of combining tri-marker together in Methods Expression levels of c-Myc, EZH2 and p27 in 129 patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer were assessed using immunohistochemistry in a semi-quantitative manner. The expression profiles of these three markers were analyzed and investigated for association with biochemical recurrence. Results In all, fifty of 129 cases experienced biochemical recurrence during a median follow-up time of 31 months （range, 6-60 months）. Of these relapse patients, one case without and 10 cases with any single positive marker were observed; 39 cases were detected with any two or all three positive markers （22 cases with any two and 17 cases with all three positive markers）. Survival analysis showed that patients with over-expression of c-Myc or EZH2, and lower expression of p27 manifested significantly higher biochemical recurrence rates. Subsequent multivariate analysis revealed that c-Myc, EZH2 and p27 expression statuses showed potential in predicting relapse, respectively. Notably, combining three markers together as a ＂composite index＂（0 or 1, vs. 2 or 3 positive markers） provided powerful prognostic value （HR 6.57, 95% cI 3.02-14.31, P 〈0.001）. There was a significant difference between the patient subgroups with 0 or 1 and those with 2 or 3 positive markers expression statuses, and tri-marker composite index was an independent risk factor for predicting relapse in patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer after surgery. conclusion composite index of c-Myc, EZH2, and p27 can be valued as powerful prognosis parameter for intermediate-risk prostate cancer patie

[目的]旨在掌握某工业场地土壤中砷(As)的空间分布特征并揭示其迁移规律,为该工业场地土壤As污染防治提供数据与理论基础。[方法]本文选取葫芦岛市某工业场地为研究区,首先统计分析了场地内土壤As含量的空间分布特征,并比较了等温与动态吸附两种获取土壤中As(Ⅲ)吸附参数的实验方法的特点与适用性,最终利用HYDRUS-1D模型反演计算了As(Ⅲ)在供试土壤中的D_(L)、K、α、β等迁移参数。[结果]场地土壤As浓度水平分布具有显著差异,在垂向上主要富集于40 cm深度内,且随深度增加而降低。等温吸附实验的结果表明:土样中As(Ⅲ)的平衡固相浓度随液相浓度增加呈非线性增长趋势,Langmuir模型(R^(2)=0.988)对实测数据的拟合效果优于Henry和Freundlich模型。动态吸附实验结果展示了As(Ⅲ)相对浓度完全穿透土柱所需的污染液体积随As(Ⅲ)初始浓度的增加而减少的规律;HYDRUS-1D反演结果表明三类吸附模型中,Langmuir模型(R^(2)=0.990)更适用于模拟土样中As(Ⅲ)的动态吸附过程。相较于等温吸附实验,使用动态吸附实验模拟As(Ⅲ)迁移行为更接近其在土壤中的真实迁移过程。[结论]该场地中的As污染来源于工业活动,主要集中在浅层土壤;土壤中As(Ⅲ)的迁移行为表现为非线性过程,较高的初始浓度将加速As(Ⅲ)的垂向迁移。动态吸附实验方法应优先应用于土壤As迁移过程及其参数获取的研究中。

cold ions of plasmaspheric origin have been observed to abundantly appear in the magnetospheric side of the Earth's magnetopause. These cold ions could affect the magnetic reconnection processes at the magnetopause by changing the Alfvén velocity and the reconnection rate, while they could also be heated in the reconnection layer during the ongoing reconnections. we report in situ observations from a partially crossing of a reconnection layer near the subsolar magnetopause. During this crossing, step-like accelerating processes of the cold ions were clearly observed, suggesting that the inflow cold ions may be separately accelerated by the rotation discontinuity and slow shock inside the reconnection layer.
