In this review,we tried to systematize all the evidence(from pubMed[MEDLINE],Scopus,Cochrane Library,EBSCO,Embase,and Google Scholar)from 1993 to 2021 on the predictors of microsurgical varicocelectomy efficacy in male infertility *** the outcomes of varicocele repair,we considered semen improvement and pregnancy and analyzed them *** on the 2011 Oxford CEBM Levels of Evidence,we assigned a score to each trial that studied the role of the *** systematized the studied predictors based on the total points,which were,in turn,calculated based on the number and quality of studies that confirmed or rejected the studied predictor as significant,into three levels of significance:predictors of high,moderate,and low clinical *** total motile sperm count(TMSC)coupled with sperm concentration can be a significant predictor of semen improvement and pregnancy after *** addition,for semen improvement alone,scrotal Doppler ultrasound(DUS)parameters,sperm DNA fragmentation index(DFI),and bilateral varicocelectomy are reliable predictors of microsurgical varicocelectomy efficacy.

Temperature is critical to maintaining seed viability under long-term storage conditions. It has been common practice to use refrigeration systems to maintain required storage temperatures. A seed repository constructed in permafrost in Yakutsk, Russia is the first seed storage facility that relies solely on natural cold. This paper describes the design and performance of the cooling system of the repository. An innovative aspect of the cooling system is that it utilizes the patterns of temperature wave propagation in permafrost. predicted and measured ground temperatures for the first year of operation are presented and analyzed. Results indicate that convection air cooling systems can be used to control the temperature regime in underground facilities in permafrost.

Multiferroic materials attracted a lot of attention in recent years because of their significant scientific interest and technological applications. The multiferroic core/shell powders have a better connectivity between the phases, resulting in superior dielectric and magneto electric properties. In this study, the influence of preparation condition on structure and properties of BaTiO_3/α-Fe_2 O_3 core/shell composite materials was examined. The five samples were obtained by varying synthesis conditions, such as synthesized method(co-precipitation and sonochemical method) and pH values of solution. XRD and Raman spectroscopy analyses were performed in order to determine phase composition and structural changes within samples. Morphology modifications were examined by SEM and EDS analyses. Finally, effect of structural and microstructural changes on magnetic and electrical properties was detected and explained.

Halogen chemistry constitutes an essential part in the industrial production of polymers and gains increasing attention as an attractive strategy to activate light alkanes that constitute natural gas. CeO2-based catalysts offer an exciting potential for advances in hydrogen halide recovery that enables a high efficiency of halogen-based processes for activation of small molecules. This review provides an overview of recently developed ceria-based catalysts in the context of polymer industry(polyvinyl chloride, polyurethanes, and polycarbonates) and activation of light hydrocarbons for natural gas upgrading. In addition, mechanistic insight and the challenges of ceria catalysts are provided, aiding the design of future catalytic materials and applications.

A detailed study of the mineral composition and microstructure of the black shales associated with OAE1 a （Eastern Russian platform）, OAElb （Middle Caspian）, and the host rocks has been carried out using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopic, and microprobe analyses. The results provide important constraints for depositional environments in the sedimentary basins. Black shales with pyrite framboids imply euxinic （sulfidic） conditions with increased organic matter preservation. Disintegrating framboids suggest partial or complete dissolution of the organic matter inside the framboids due to increasing water oxygenation. OAEla on the Eastern Russian platform is heterogeneous as it includes thin interbeds of concretionary coccolith limestones within the interval of bituminous shales, and correlates with the Lower Aptian Rhagodiscus angustus nannofossil zone. The coccolith limestones indicate short intermittent episodes of interrupted stagnation, rapid oxygenation, and restoration of normal marine conditions. The presence of montmorillonite, albite, microcline, and diopside in the bituminous siltstones and in the host siltstones of OAEla on the Eastern Russian platform, as well as a high content of titanium in the black siltstones correlated with OAEIb in the Middle Caspian allow proposing significant input of pyroclastic material into the extant sea.

A striking feature of the Mongolian plateau is the wide range of air temperatures during a year, -30 to 30~C. High summer temperatures, atmospheric weathering and the arid climate lead to formation of numerous alkaline soda lakes that are covered by ice during 6-7 months per year. During the study period, the lakes had pH values between 8.1 to 10.4 and salinity between 1.8 and 360 g/L. According to chemical composition, the lakes belong to sodium carbonate, sodium chloride-carbonate and sodium sulfate-carbonate types. This paper presents the data on the water chemical composition, results of the determination of the rates of microbial processes in microbial mats and sediments in the lakes studied, and the results of a principal Component Analysis of environmental variables and microbial activity data. Temperature was the most important factor that influenced both chemical composition and microbial activity, pH and salinity are also important factors for the microbial processes. Dark CO2 fixation is impacted mostly by salinity and the chemical composition of the lake water. Total photosynthesis and sulfate-reduction are impacted mostly by pH. photosynthesis is the dominant process of primary production, but the highest rate （386 mg C/（L.d）） determined in the lakes studied were 2-3 times lower than in microbial mats of lakes located in tropical zones. This can be explained by the relatively short warm period that lasts only 3-4 months per year. The highest measured rate of dark CO2 assimilation （59.8 mg C/（L·d）） was much lower than photosynthesis. The highest rate of sulfate reduction was 60 mg S/（L·d）, while that of methanogenesis was 75.6 μL CH4/（L·d） in the alkaline lakes of Mongolian plateau. The rate of organic matter consumption during sulfate reduction was 3-4 orders of magnitude higher than that associated with methanogenesis.

We evaluated the efficacy and safety of as-needed tadalafil in a diverse clinical population （with varying patient demographics, disease severity, and comorbid medical conditions） of Asian men with erectile dysfunction （ED）. An integrated analysis of five double-blind, placebo-controlled trials （N = 1 046） was performed. patients were randomly assigned to receive 10 mg tadalafil （N = 185）, 20 mg tadalafil （N = 510）, or placebo （N = 351）. Efficacy assessments included the International Index of Erectile Function （IIEF）, Sexual Encounter profile （SEp） diary and Global Assessment Question （GAQ）. patients receiving 10 mg or 20 mg tadalafil showed significant improvement from baseline-to-end point on the Erectile Function domain of the International Index of Erectile Function （IIEF-EF） domain score in all clinical sub-populations analyzed, compared with patients receiving placebo （p 〈 0.001）. The 10-mg and 20-mg tadalafil groups showed a mean success rate of 64.1% and 70.5% for sexual intercourse attempts （SEp3, successful intercourse）, respectively, compared with 33.4% in the placebo group （p 〈 0.001）, and 85.5% and 85.4% reported improved erections at end point GAQ, respectively, versus 43.5% in the placebo group （p 〈 0.001）. Tadalafil was well tolerated across all groups studied. Headache and back pain were the most frequently reported adverse events. Overall, tadalafil was effective and well tolerated across a diverse clinical spectrum of Asian men with ED.
