In this paper,we point out some practical obstacles arising in realization of compressional optical coherence elastography(OCE)that have not attracted sufficient attention ***-cally,we discuss(i)complications in quantification of the Young modulus of tissues related to partial adhesion between the OCE probe and soft intervening reference layer sensor,(i)distorting influence of tisue suface curvature/corrugation on the subsurface strain distri-bution mapping,(ii)ways of signal-to-noise mtio(SNR)enhancement in OCE strain mapping when periodic averaging is not realized,and(iv)potentially significant infuence of tissue elastic nonlinearity on quantification of its *** pnactical approaches to mitigate the effects of these complications are also described.

The measurement of circulating blood volume （CBv） is crucial in various medical conditions including surgery, iatrogenic problems, rapid fluid administration, transfusion of red blood ceils, or trauma with extensive blood loss including battlefield injuries and other emergencies. Currently, available commercial techniques are invasive and time-consuming for trauma situations. Recently, we have proposed high-speed multi-wavelength photoacoustic/photothermal （PA/PT） flow cytometry for in vivo CBv assessment with multiple dyes as PA contrast agents （labels）. As the first step, we have characterized the capability of this technique to monitor the clearance of three dyes （indocyanine green, methylene blue, and trypan blue） in an animal model. However, there are strong demands on improvements in PA/PT flow cytometry. As additional verification of our proof-of-concept of this technique, we performed optical photometric CBv measurements in vitro. Three label dyes--methylene blue, crystal violet simultaneous photometric determination of the and, partially, brilliant green--were selected for components of their two-dye mixtures in the circulating blood in vitro without any extra data （like hemoglobin absorption） known a priori. The tests of single dyes and their mixtures in a flow system simulating a blood transfusion system showed a negligible difference between the sensitivities of the determination of these dyes under batch and flow conditions. For individual dyes, the limits of detection of 3×10-6M-3×10-5M in blood were achieved, which provided their continuous determination at a level of 10-SM for the CBv assessment without a priori data on the matrix. The CBv assessment with errors no higher than 4% were obtained, and the possibility to apply the developed procedure for optical photometric （flow cytometry） with laser sources was shown.

The enthalpies of vaporization for the series of pyridinium-based ionic liquids with bis（trifluoromethylsulfonyl）imide anion [CnPy][NTfz] （n = 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6） have been determined with the quartz crystal microbalance technique combined with the Langmuir evaporation. The linear dependence of vaporization enthalpies on the chain length has been revealed. New approach based on volumetric, surface tension, and speed of sound measurements has been developed for estimation of heat capacity differences between gas and liquid phase, which were required for adjustment of measured vaporization enthalpies to the ref- erence temperature 298 K.

The use of a combined additive consisting of silica-containing additives“F”(thinning)and“S”(accelerating castable hardening)instead of the previously used silica-containing additive“A”and a mixture of dispersing additives based on polyethylene glycol in low-cement silicon carbide castable allows to improve the castable workability by increasing(in 5.4 times)the flowability of a freshly prepared castable,and increase by 1.2 and 1.1 times the cold crushing strength of heat-treated at temperatures of 110 and 1580°C,respectively,castable samples from low-cement silicon carbide castable with practically equal values of open porosity(15.8%and 16.0%).The petrographic studies of the castable sample microstructure after firing at a temperature of 1580°C showed that the investigated silica-containing additives“F”and“S”contribute to the denser and more uniform structure *** a result of the carried out research,the manufacturing technology of a low-cement silicon carbide castable was improved,of which the production was mastered at JSC“URIR named after ***”.

The article shows how the phenomenon of superconductivity can contribute to the origin of Saturn rings. The main argument for this coming from the general physics consideration and based on the fact that Saturn has a magnetic field, and the temperature of the environment in its vicinity is low enough to think about superconductivity.

In the present study, the finite-time asynchronous dissipative filter design problem for the Markov jump systems with conic-type nonlinearity is studied. The hidden Markov model can describe the asynchronism embodied in the system modes and the filter modes reasonably. Moreover, a suitable LyapunovKrasovskii function is utilized and linear matrix inequalities are applied to obtain adequate conditions. These techniques guarantee the finite-time boundedness and strict dissipativity of the filtering error dynamic system. Furthermore, the design problems of the passive filter and the H∞ filter are studied by adjusting the three parameters U, G and v. Finally, the filter gains and the optimal index α*are obtained and the correctness and feasibility of the designed approach are verified by a simulation example.
