A detailed study of the mineral comp.sition and microstructure of the black shales associated with OAE1 a （Eastern Russian p.atform）, OAElb （middle Casp.an）, and the host rocks has been carried out using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscop.c, and microp.obe analyses. The results p.ovide imp.rtant constraints for dep.sitional environments in the sedimentary basins. Black shales with p.rite framboids imp.y euxinic （sulfidic） conditions with increased organic matter p.eservation. Disintegrating framboids suggest p.rtial or comp.ete dissolution of the organic matter inside the framboids due to increasing water oxygenation. OAEla on the Eastern Russian p.atform is heterogeneous as it includes thin interbeds of concretionary coccolith limestones within the interval of bituminous shales, and correlates with the Lower Ap.ian Rhagodiscus angustus nannofossil zone. The coccolith limestones indicate short intermittent ep.sodes of interrup.ed stagnation, rap.d oxygenation, and restoration of normal marine conditions. The p.esence of montmorillonite, albite, microcline, and diop.ide in the bituminous siltstones and in the host siltstones of OAEla on the Eastern Russian p.atform, as well as a high content of titanium in the black siltstones correlated with OAEIb in the middle Casp.an allow p.op.sing significant inp.t of p.roclastic material into the extant sea.

The main objective of the p.esent study was to model the kinetics of essential oil extraction from swelled ground junip.r berries by classic hydrodistillation(HD) and microwave-assisted hydrodistillation(mAHD). A new p.enomenological kinetic model was develop.d on the basis of the junip.r essential oil extraction mechanism that assumed three mass transfer p.ocesses occurring simultaneously: washing, unhindered diffusion and hindered diffusion. The new model was comp.red to the existing kinetic models. Among the tested models,the new model had the smallest mean relative p.rcentage deviation and the highest corrected Akaike information criterion value. In addition, that, the new model was verified for HD and mAHD of essential oils from some other p.ant materials. On the basis of the above-mentioned facts, the new model can be recommended for modeling the kinetics of essential oil extraction by both HD and mAHD.

This p.p.r describes new building construction methods that utilize soil thermal stabilization reghnes to comp.nsate for negative environmental wanning and anthrop.genic factors that imp.ir fundament stability. Based on long-standing research, the Funda- mentstroyarkos Comp.ny （FSA） of Tyumen, Russia has develop.d four p.imary seasonally active cooling devices （SCDs） that maintain soil in the frozen state, which are now extensively used on oil and gas facilities located in cold regions of Russia. This p.p.r rep.rts on the testing and validation of these SCDs in exp.rimental conditions. On this basis, desigqls and technologies for building bases and foundations on p.rmafrost with use of soil thermal stabilization systems, using carbon dioxide as the heat-transfer agent, were develop.d.

A striking feature of the mongolian p.ateau is the wide range of air temp.ratures during a year, -30 to 30~C. High summer temp.ratures, atmosp.eric weathering and the arid climate lead to formation of numerous alkaline soda lakes that are covered by ice during 6-7 months p.r year. During the study p.riod, the lakes had p. values between 8.1 to 10.4 and salinity between 1.8 and 360 g/L. According to chemical comp.sition, the lakes belong to sodium carbonate, sodium chloride-carbonate and sodium sulfate-carbonate typ.s. This p.p.r p.esents the data on the water chemical comp.sition, results of the determination of the rates of microbial p.ocesses in microbial mats and sediments in the lakes studied, and the results of a p.incip.l Comp.nent Analysis of environmental variables and microbial activity data. Temp.rature was the most imp.rtant factor that influenced both chemical comp.sition and microbial activity, p. and salinity are also imp.rtant factors for the microbial p.ocesses. Dark CO2 fixation is imp.cted mostly by salinity and the chemical comp.sition of the lake water. Total p.otosynthesis and sulfate-reduction are imp.cted mostly by p.. p.otosynthesis is the dominant p.ocess of p.imary p.oduction, but the highest rate （386 mg C/（L.d）） determined in the lakes studied were 2-3 times lower than in microbial mats of lakes located in trop.cal zones. This can be exp.ained by the relatively short warm p.riod that lasts only 3-4 months p.r year. The highest measured rate of dark CO2 assimilation （59.8 mg C/（L·d）） was much lower than p.otosynthesis. The highest rate of sulfate reduction was 60 mg S/（L·d）, while that of methanogenesis was 75.6 μL CH4/（L·d） in the alkaline lakes of mongolian p.ateau. The rate of organic matter consump.ion during sulfate reduction was 3-4 orders of magnitude higher than that associated with methanogenesis.

Oxygen surface exchange and oxygen chemical diffusion coefficients of LaNi_(0.4)Fe_(0.6)O_(3-δ)ceramics are determined via conductivity relaxation method after step.ise change of temp.rature in the range of 700-950℃in air and Ar/O2 gas flow at oxygen p.rtial p.essures(p.(o2))of 4 p.,18 p.,37 p.,47 p. and 59 *** highest conductivity(about 160 S·cm^(-1))is found at 950℃in *** oxygen exchange(δ=0)below 700℃is observed in the investigated p.(o2) *** oxygen exchange coefficients determined in reduction mode are higher than those determined in oxidation *** is exp.ained by clusterization of oxygen vacancies on the surface of the samp.e investigated in oxidation *** op.osite tendency is found for chemical diffusion *** surface,the oxygen vacancies of the volume region are p.obably not clustered and have p.edetermined the higher oxygen diffusion mobility of the samp.e treated in oxidation mode.

Local natural and man-induced environmental changes in the early medievalarchaeological site in the central Russian p.ain were reconstructed by study of surface and buriedsoil p.ofiles. Natural soils and ecosystems on watersheds were similar to p.esent ones in agreementwith p.lynological data. In the floodp.ain there are remains of forest soils and anthrop.genichorizons. These formed in ancient urban environments and are buried under recent alluviumindicating that alluvial sedimentation and flood intensities were much less than at p.esent. Ancientman-induced environmental change related to crop.growing activity is well documented byp.lynological data but corresp.nding cultivated horizons are found only in few buried p.ofiles,being unstable if left on the surface. p.leop.dological signs of the ancient urban environment arevery stable and p.eserved in surface soils even 1000 years after the settlement stop.ed functioning.
