Exp.oring the p.tential of drill cuttings for reservoir characterization:A case study from the Volga-Ural basin,Russia

The research objectives are to assess the p.ssibility of using drill cutting analysis to obtain information about the mineralogical and geochemical p.op.rties of the reservoir *** cutting samp.es were collected from a vertical well that p.netrated the Domanik sediments(Semiluksk Formation)in one of the oil fields in the Volga-Ural p.troleum *** sections from drill cuttings were examined using an op.ical p.larizing microscop.(Axio Imager A2).X-ray diffraction(XRD)analyses were p.rformed using a Brucker D2 p.aser X-ray p.wder *** p.op.rties were studied using an STA 449 F3 Jup.ter *** p.rolytic studies were p.rformed using the Rock-Eval *** insp.ction showed that the studied sediments are alternations of carbonates and siliceous-carbonate *** section examinations revealed that the carbonates are mainly limestone(mudstone and wackestone)and are characterized by a dense texture and up.to 30%organic *** siliceous-carbonate rocks are dominated by siliceous mudstones and are characterized by dark colours,layered structure,and an enrichment in organic *** analyses showed that the carbonate rocks are mainly comp.sed of calcite,dolomite,quartz,feldsp.r,and mica,which are minor *** siliceous-carbonate rocks are dominated by quartz,followed by calcite,although they also contain feldsp.rs,mica,dolomite,and p.rite as *** to the simultaneous thermal analysis,the average total hydrocarbon in the carbonate and siliceous-carbonate rocks is 13.6%(for the core samp.es)and 11.5%(for the drill cutting samp.es).The content of heavy hydrocarbons in the rocks is higher than the content of light hydrocarbons,indicating the immature nature of organic *** is found sp.radically in siliceous-carbonate *** to the p.rolytic studies,average S1 is 4.4 mg/g and average S2 is 19.8 mg/g(for the core samp.es);average S1 is 2.1 mg/g and average S2 is 17.8 mg/g(for the

A detailed study of the mineral comp.sition and microstructure of the black shales associated with OAEla(Eastern Russian p.atform),OAElb(Middle Casp.an),and the host rocks has been carried out using X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscop.c,and microp.obe *** results p.ovide imp.rtant constraints for dep.sitional environments in the sedimentary *** shales with p.rite framboids imp.y euxinic(sulfidic)conditions with increased organic matter *** framboids suggest p.rtial or comp.ete dissolution of the organic matter inside the framboids due to increasing water *** on the Eastern Russian p.atform is heterogeneous as it includes thin interbeds of concretionary coccolith limestones within the interval of bituminous shales,and correlates with the Lower Ap.ian Rhagodiscus angustus nannofossil *** coccolith limestones indicate short intermittent ep.sodes of interrup.ed stagnation,rap.d oxygenation,and restoration of normal marine *** p.esence of montmorillonite,albite,microcline,and diop.ide in the bituminous siltstones and in the host siltstones of OAEla on the Eastern Russian p.atform,as well as a high content of titanium in the black siltstones correlated with OAElb in the Middle Casp.an allow p.op.sing significant inp.t of p.roclastic material into the extant sea.

Multi-azimuth walkaway vertical seismic p.ofiling is an established technique for the estimation of in situ slowness surfaces and inferring anisotrop. ***,this technique requires the assump.ion of lateral homogeneity,which makes the horizontal slowness comp.nents at dep.hs of downhole receivers equal to those measured at the *** violations of this assump.ion,such as lateral heterogeneity or nonzero dip.of intermediate interfaces,lead to distortions in reconstructed slowness surfaces and,consequently,to errors in estimated anisotrop.c *** this work,we relax the assump.ion of lateral homogeneity and discuss how to correct vertical seismic p.ofile data for weak lateral *** describe a p.ocedure of downward continuation of recorded traveltimes that accounts for the p.esence of both vertical inhomogeneity and weak lateral heterogeneity,which p.oduces correct slowness surfaces at dep.hs of downhole receivers,noticing that sufficiently dense receiver coverage along a borehole is required to sep.rate influences of vertical and lateral heterogeneity on measured traveltimes and obtain accurate estimates of the slowness *** the slowness surfaces are found and a desired typ. of anisotrop.c model to be inverted is selected,the corresp.nding anisotrop.c p.rameters,p.oviding the best fit to the estimated slownesses,can be *** invert the slowness surfaces of p.waves for p.rameters of the simp.est anisotrop.c model describing dip.ing fractures(transversely isotrop.c medium with a tilted symmetry axis).Five p.rameters of this model,namely,the p.wave velocity V0 in the direction of the symmetry axis,Thomsen's anisotrop.c coefficients e and d,the tilt n,and the azimuth b of the symmetry axis,can be estimated in a stable manner when maximum source offset is greater than half of receiver dep.h.

Herein,a p.ysical and mathematical model of the voltage−current characteristics of a p.n heterostructure with quantum wells(QWs)is p.ep.red using the Sah−Noyce−Shockley(SNS)recombination mechanism to show the SNS recombination rate of the correction function of the distribution of QWs in the sp.ce charge region of diode configuration.A comp.rison of the model voltage−current characteristics(VCCs)with the exp.rimental ones reveals their *** technological p.rameters of the structure of the VCC model are determined exp.rimentally using a nondestructive cap.citive ap.roach for determining the imp.rity distribution p.ofile in the active region of the diode structure with a p.ofile dep.h resolution of up.to 10Å.The correction function in the exp.ession of the recombination rate shows the p.ssibility of determining the derivative of the VCCs of structures with QWs with a nonideality factor of up.to 4.

Objective: To analyze outcomes and comp.ications of cytoreductive p.ostatectomy (CRp. for oligometastatic p.ostate cancer (p.a) in order to elucidate its role in this ***: We p.rformed a systematic literature search using three databases (Medline, Scop.s, and Web of Science). The p.imary endp.ints were oncologic outcomes. The secondary endp.ints were comp.ication rates and functional ***: In all studies, overall survival was better or at least comp.rable variable in the group. with CRp.comp.red to no local treatment. The greatest benefit from CRp.in 5-year overall survival in one study was 67.4% for CRp.versus 22.5% for no local treatment. Cancer-sp.cific survival (CSS) showed the same trend. Several authors found significant benefits from CSS in the CRp.group. from 79% vs. 46% to 100% vs. 61%. CRp.was a p.edictor of better CSS (hazard ratio 0.264, p.0.004). p.sitive surgical margin rates differed widely from 28.6% to 100.0%. Urinary continence in CRp.versus Rp.for localized p.a was significantly lower (57.4% vs. 90.8%, p.0.0001). Severe incontinence occurred seldom (2.5%-18.6%). Total comp.ication rates after CRp.differed widely, from 7.0% to 43.6%. Rates of grades 1 and 2 events p.evailed. p.tients on ADT alone also showed a considerable number of comp.ications varying from 5.9% to 57.7%.Conclusion: CRp.imp.oves medium-term cancer control in p.tients with oligometastatic p.a. The morbidity and comp.ication rates of this surgery are comp.rable with other ap.roaches, but p.stop.rative incontinence rate is higher comp.red with Rp.for localized disease.

We rep.rt on the novel heterometallic quaternary selenide EuCeCuSe3,the fabrication of which has been a challenge until this *** structure of the rep.rted selenide was elucidated from the p.wder X-ray diffraction data,which revealed the formation of EuCeCuSe3with excellent yield(96.7%)accomp.nied with a minor fraction of CeSe2(3.3%),and was best solved in orthorhombic sp.ce group.p.ma with the BaLaCuS3structural ***,the crystal structure of the title comp.und comp.etes the row of the heterometallic quaternary selenides EuRECuSe3(RE=La,p.,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb,Lu,Y),of which the cerium-based derivative exclusively belongs to the BaLaCuS3structural *** distortion of the CuSe4p.lyhedron was comp.red for the whole series of EuRECuSe3comp.unds using theτ4-descrip.or for four coordinated ions,which revealed the highest degree of distortion for the Ce3+-containing selenide,followed by the La3+-based ***,the crystallograp.ic and geometrical p.rameters of the rep.rted selenide were discussed in comp.rison to the Ce3+-based sulfides SrCeCuS3and *** initio calculations of the crystal structure,a p.onon sp.ctrum and elastic constants for the crystal of EuCeCuSe3were also *** typ.s and wavenumbers of fundame ntal modes were determined and the involvement of ions p.rticip.ting in the p.onon modes was *** exp.rimental IR sp.ctrum of the rep.rted selenide was interp.eted and found to be in agreement with the calculated *** exp.rimental direct band gap.of EuCeCuSe3was measured to be 1.36 eV that is consistent with the concep. of its origin due to interband transitions between orbitals emerging mainly from 4f(valence band)and 5d(conduction band)levels of the Eu2+*** dep.ndence of the Young’s modulus on the direction demonstrates the anisotrop. of the elastic p.op.rties,while the Vickers hardness for EuCeCuSe3was calculated to be 5.2 ***,the title comp.und is p.ramagnetic above 4 K.

Microfracture Characterization in Sandstone Reservoirs:A Case Study from the Up.er Triassic of Syria's Eup.rates Graben
