Many studies propose a significant shift in the tectonic and paleogeographic evolution of the Andes in south-central Chile and Argentina during the Late *** has been proposed that the preceding Jurassic-Early Cretaceous extensional regime that resulted in a low-relief volcanic arc and the backarc neuquén basin came to an end,giving way to shortening and Andean growth from the Late Cretaceous ***,there are disagreements regarding the timing and nature of this transition to Andean *** address these issues,we conducted geochronologic(U-Pb and^(40)Ar/&(39)Ar),sedimentologic,and structural studies on Mesozoic-Cenozoic sedimentary and volcanic rocks in the Río Maule area(Principal Cordillera,Chile,36°s).From our findings and prior analyses,we propose the following tectono-stratigraphic evolution of the region.(1)Marine deposition of the Tithonian-Hauterivian Baños del Flaco Formation took place in an extensional backarc basin.(2)After a~40 Myr hiatus,fluvial deposits of the Colimapu Formation and volcanic rocks of the Plan de los Yeuques Formation accumulated during the *** the Colimapu Formation displays evidence of syndepositional shortening,the Plan de los Yeuques Formation exhibits synextensional growth *** to other studies,our results suggest that the Chilean part of the Principal Cordillera was largely a zone of active deposition rather than an elevated fold-thrust belt during the Late *** propose that sedimentation occurred within a series of relatively stable intermontane subbasins generated by shortening,followed by extension.(3)After a~20 Myr hiatus,middle Eocene to early Miocene(Lutetian-Aquitanian)accumulation of a thick succession of andesitic lavas and minor clastic sediments of the Abanico Formation occurred in an intraarc extensional basin.(4)Finally,major shortening and uplift of previously deposited Mesozoic-Cenozoic rocks took place throughout the *** phase constitu

Duodenal diverticula are a relatively common condition. They are asymptomatic, unless they become complicated, with perforation being the rarest but most severe complication. surgical treatment is the most frequently performed approach. We report the case of a patient with a perforated duodenal diverticulum, which was diagnosed early and treated conservatively with antibiotics and percutaneous drainage of secondary retroperitoneal abscesses. We suggest this method could be an acceptable option for the management of similar cases, provided that the patient is in good general condition and without septic signs.

Influence of monovalent Bi^+doping on real composition,point defects,and photoluminescence in TlCdCl3 and TlCdI3 single crystals

The structural features and real compositions with point defects of Bi+-doped TlCdCl_3 and TlCdI_3 single crystals, grown by the Bridgman-stockbarger technique, are first studied using the X-ray diffraction, X-ray synchrotron radiation, and EXAFs/XAnEs spectroscopy. In the structures of Bi^+-doped TlCdCl_3 and TlCdI_3 crystals, the Cd, Cl, and I sites are found to be defect-free. The vacancies in the Tl sites and interstitial Bi atoms located in the vicinity of the Tl sites are detected in the structures of both samples. In the Bi^+-doped TlCdCl_3, the presence of a small amount of Bi^+ ions in the Tl^+ sites is possible. The correlation between photoluminescence bands and point defects in the refined structures are determined. Photoluminescence spectra and decay kinetics of the Bi+-doped TlCdCl_3 and TlCdI_3 demonstrate that they are attractive materials for potential applications in photonics.

Coherent OnU based on 850 μm-long cavity-RsOA for next-generation ultra-dense access network

In this Letter, an efficient bidirectional differential phase-shift keying （DPsK）--DPsK transmission for a ultra- dense wavelength division-multiplexed passive optical network is proposed. A single distributed feedback laser at the optical network unit （OnU） is used both as the local laser for downlink coherent detection and the optical carrier for uplink. Phase-shift keying is generated using a low-cost reflective semiconductor optical amplifier （RsOA） at the OnU. The RsOA chip has the bandwidth of 4.7 GHz at the maximum input power and bias current. For uplink transmission, the sensitivity of the RsOA chip reaches -48.2 dBm at the level of bit error rate = 10^-3 for back-to-back, and the penalty for 50 km transmission is less than 1 dB when using polarization diversity.

numerical Modeling of the Time Evolution of super-small-scale Irregularities in the near-Earth Rarefied Plasma

The time evolution of the magnetic field aligned super-small-scale irregularities in the concentration of charged particles, existing in the near-Earth rarefied plasma, is studied with the help of the model simulation. A new version of the two-dimensional mathematical model, developed earlier in the Polar Geophysical Institute, is utilized to investigate the temporal history of the irregularity with circular cross section, created initially in the near-Earth plasma. The utilized model is based on a numerical solution of the Vlasov-Poisson system of equations, with the Vlasov equations describing the distribution functions of charged particles and the Poisson equation governing the self-consistent electric field. The results of simulation indicate that the mobility of the positive ions ought to influence essentially on the time evolution of the super-small-scale irregularities in the concentration of charged particles, existing in the near-Earth rarefied plasma.

Background:Rotavirus was the leading cause of childhood diarrhoea-related hospitalisations and death before the introduction of rotavirus ***:We describe the effectiveness of rotavirus vaccines to prevent rotavirus infections and hospitalizations and the main rotavirus strains circulating before and after vaccine introduction through a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies published between 1990 and 2014.203 studies were included to estimate the proportion of infections due to rotavirus and 10 to assess the impact of the vaccines.41 of 46 studies in the post-vaccination period were used for meta-analysis of genotypes,20 to calculate VE against infection,eight for VE against hospitalisation and seven for VE against severe ***:24.3%(95%CI 22.1–26.5)and 16.1%(95%CI 13.2–19.3)of cases of diarrhoea were due to rotavirus before and after vaccine introduction,*** most prevalent G types after vaccine introduction were G2(51.6%,95%CI 38–65),G9(14.5%,95%CI 7–23)and G1(14.2%,95%CI 7–23);while the most prevalent P types were P[4](54.1%,95%CI 41–67)and P[8](33%,95%CI 22–46).G2P[4]was the most frequent genotype combination after vaccine *** was 53%(95%CI 46–60)against infection,73%(95%CI,66–78)against hospitalisation and 74%(95%CI,68.0–78.0)against severe *** in hospitalisations and mortality due to diarrhoea were observed in countries that adopted universal rotavirus ***:Rotavirus vaccines are effective in preventing rotavirus-diarrhoea in children in Latin *** vaccines were associated with changes in genotype distribution.

spontaneous combustion influenced by surface methane drainage and its prediction by rescaled range analysis

This study established numerical modeling using COMsOLTMto examine the influence of horizontal location and drainage ability of surface borehole on spontaneous combustion in longwall working face gob. Rescaled Range Analysis(R/s analysis) was employed to investigate the chaos characteristic of n_2/O_2 ratio from a surface borehole in 10416 working face gob, Yangliu Colliery, China. The simulation results show that there is always a circular ‘‘dissipation zone" around the drainage borehole and an elliptic ‘‘spontaneous combustion zone" in deep gob. Little influence was found on spontaneous combustion zone on the intake side of the gob but the width of spontaneous combustion zone in middle gob is enlarged, while the depth of spontaneous combustion zone near the return side is reduced. The R/s analysis indicates that the influence of surface borehole on spontaneous combustion can be divided into two stages by the chaos feature of n_2/O_2: safety drainage stage and spontaneous combustion initiating stage. It can be concluded that the methane drainage from gob through surface borehole can intervene in the distribution of spontaneous combustion zone in gob and the chaos feature of n_2/O_2 from surface borehole can effectively reflect coal spontaneous combustion condition in gob.
