Isolated attosecond pulse(IAP)generation usually involves the use of short-medium gas cells operated at high *** contrast,long-medium schemes at low pressures are commonly perceived as inherently unsuitable for IAP generation due to the nonlinear phenomena that challenge favourable phase-matching *** we provide clear experimental evidence on the generation of isolated extreme-ultraviolet attosecond pulses in a semiinﬁnite gas cell,demonstrating the use of extended-medium geometries for effective production of *** gain a deeper understanding we develop a simulation method for high-order harmonic generation(HHG),which combines nonlinear propagation with macroscopic HHG solving the 3D time-dependent schrödinger equation at the singleatom *** simulations reveal that the nonlinear spatio-temporal reshaping of the drivingﬁeld,observed in the experiment as a bright plasma channel,acts as a self-regulating mechanism boosting the phase-matching conditions for the generation of IAPs.

Over the last two centuries,the impact of the Human system has grown dramatically,becoming strongly dominant within the Earth system in many diferent ***,inequality,and population have increased extremely fast,especially since about 1950,threatening to overwhelm the many critical functions and ecosystems of the Earth *** in the Earth system,in turn,have important feedback efects on the Human system,with costly and potentially serious ***,current models do not incorporate these critical *** argue that in order to understand the dynamics of either system,Earth system Models must be coupled with Human system Models through bidirectional couplings representing the positive,negative,and delayed feedbacks that exist in the real *** particular,key Human system variables,such as demographics,inequality,economic growth,and migration,are not coupled with the Earth system but are instead driven by exogenous estimates,such as United nations population *** makes current models likely to miss important feedbacks in the real Earth–Human system,especially those that may result in unexpected or counterintuitive outcomes,and thus requiring diferent policy interventions from current *** importance and imminence of sustainability challenges,the dominant role of the Human system in the Earth system,and the essential roles the Earth system plays for the Human system,all call for collaboration of natural scientists,social scientists,and engineers in multidisciplinary research and modeling to develop coupled Earth–Human system models for devising efective science-based policies and measures to beneit current and future generations.

目的·探讨内质网应激(endoplasmic reticulum stress,ERs)反应在中性粒细胞弹力蛋白酶(neutrophil elastase,nE)诱导人气道上皮细胞黏蛋白5AC(mucin 5AC,MUC5AC)分泌中的作用及机制。方法·培养人气道上皮细胞HBE16,分别给予活性氧(reactive oxygen species,ROs)抑制剂n-乙酰半胱氨酸(n-acetylcysteine,nAC)、ERs抑制剂4-苯基丁酸(4-phenylbutyrate,4-PBA)预处理,或分别转染需肌醇酶1α(inositol-requiring kinase 1α,IRE-1α)小干扰RnA(siRnA)、X盒结合蛋白1(X-boxbinding protein 1,XBP-1)siRnA,再予以nE刺激;同时设单纯nE组和空白对照组。试剂盒检测ROs的生成水平;Westernblotting检测干预后ERs相关信号分子葡萄糖调节蛋白78(glucose-regulated protein 78,GRP78)、磷酸化蛋白激酶R样内质网激酶(phosphorylated protein kinase R-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase,pPERK)、活化转录因子6(activating transcription factor 6,ATF6)、磷酸化IRE-1α(pIRE-1α)及XBP-1蛋白表达量的变化;实时荧光定量PCR检测剪切的XBP-1(XBP-1s)mRnA水平;ELIsA和免疫荧光检测MUC5AC在各组细胞中的蛋白表达情况。结果·与空白对照组相比,nE刺激24 h后细胞ROs含量增加,GRP78、ATF6、pPERK及pIRE-1α蛋白水平均显著升高(均Ps mRnA及蛋白表达也明显增加(均PnAC及4-PBA预处理后均使上述ERs相关蛋白表达较单纯nE组降低(均PsiRnA或XBP-1 siRnA,细胞中MUC5AC蛋白表达也较单纯nE组明显降低,同时XBP-1s mRnA及蛋白表达也有明显下降(均PnE通过产生ROs引起ERs反应,诱导MUC5AC蛋白表达及分泌增加,ERs通路IRE-1α/XBP-1在其中发挥着一定的作用。

Risk Factors Contributing to Microbiological Contamination of Boreholes and Hand Dug Wells Water in the Vina Division, Adamawa, Cameroon

This study examined the sanitary conditions of public boreholes and hand dug wells water in relation to pathogenic bacteria isolated in water samples. To assess the suitability of drinking water, sanitary inspection of surroundings of the sources was conducted, membrane filtration technic was used to trap the microorganisms in the water sample and other standard microbiological technics were applied to check the heterotrophic plate counts, total coliforms, fecal coliforms and some pathogenic bacteria in the samples. It was observed that there were no delineated protection zones around many boreholes (61.19%) and in almost all hand dug wells;thus, hand dug wells were pruned to more contamination than boreholes. Heterotrophic plate counts of boreholes were significantly different between (p nes in dry and rainy seasons. Total coliforms per 100 ml varied significantly (p n the two seasons both in boreholes and hand dug wells. Fecal coliforms were significantly absent in some boreholes, but significantly present in all hand dug wells with the presence of E. coli 157H in some. Risk assessment of factors contributing to water contamination showed that: pumps manipulation with feet, other sources of contamination such as wastewater dumps, within 10m were significantly associated to boreholes contamination with salmonella spp, staphylococcus aureuse, fecal coliform (p = 0.01);in hand dug wells, presence of latrine or septic tank soak-away within 10 m of the wells, poor depth and lack of internal lining, uncapped wells, presence of trees near the wells, animal and birds feces, were significant and associated to contamination with salmonela spp., B. cepaceae, s. aureus E. coli 1 (p nerally water collection points are marked with very poor sanitary conditions and this situation may not change unless the contaminating risk factors are fixed and sanitary measures are taken.

This study aimed to investigate the trends of finishers in the sao silvestre race in Brazil,taking into account sex,age,and performance levels.A total of 31775 runners(women,n=13847;men,n=17928),aged(45.2±16.8)years,finishers in the sao silvestre race between 2007 and 2021,were considered in the present ***(event year,date of birth,sex,and race times)were downloaded from the official race *** man-Whitney U test,spearman correlation,and robust regression model were *** increased over time for both *** age groups,“31-40 years”(women)and“>60 years”(men)were those with the highest number of *** found a decrease in performance across the years(β=2.45;ps well as significant differences in race times for both sexes(U=42.844;pn presenting better performances than *** time,it was observed an increase in the performance gap between the sexes,but in general,the performance decreased(β=1.76;pstakeholders should consider improving the strategies to improve women and young people's participation in running events.

The design of heterostructured transition metal-based electrocatalysts with controlled composition and interfaces is key to increasing the efficiency of the water electrolysis and the elucidation of reaction *** this work,we report the synthesis of well-controlled vertically aligned ni/niO nanocomposites consisting of ni nanoclusters embedded in niO,which result in highly efficient electrocatalysts for overall water *** show that such a high catalytic efficiency toward both the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)originates from a synergetic effect at ni/niO interfaces that significantly reduces the energy barrier for water dissociation,and favours the formation of reactive H*intermediates on the ni side of the interface,and OH_(ads) on the niO side of the interface.A study of water chemisorption based on near-ambient pressure photoelectron spectroscopy indicates that the abundant hetero-interfaces in ni/niO nanocomposite promote the dissociation of water with a three-fold increase in the surface concentration of OH_(ads) compared with pure *** functional theory calculations indicate that ni/niO interface leads to the reduction of the water dissociation energy barrier due to a high concentration of oxygen vacancies at niO side of the interface,whereas the formation of highly active metallic ni sites with an optimal value of Gibbs free energy of H*(ΔG_(H*)=−0.16 eV)owes to a favourable adjustment of the electron energetics at the interface,thus accelerating the overall electrochemical water splitting.

Background： Although much attention has been paid to the pharmacokinetics （PKs） of different factor VIII （FVIlI） concentrates in persons with hemophilia A （HA）, limited information is available in young boys with severe HA. In this study, we aimed to assess the PK parameters of FVIII products in boys with severe HA in China. Methods： A total of 36 boys （plasma-derived [pd]-FVIII, n= 15; recombinant [r] FVIII, n = 21） were enrolled between January 2015 and May 2016 in Beijing Children＇s Hospital. PK characteristics of FVIII products were studied according to a reduced 4-sampling time point design （1 h, 9 h, 24 h, and 48 h postinfusion）. Results： The mean FVIII half-life （t1/2） was 10.99 ± 3.45 h （range 5.52-20.02 h）, the mean in vivo recovery （IVR） was 2.01 ± 0.42 IU/dl per IU/kg （range 1.24-3.02 IU/dl per IU/kg） and mean clearance （CL） of FVIII is 4.34 ± 1.58 ml·kg^-1·h ^-1 （range 2.29-7.90 ml·kg^-1·h·^-1）. We also analyzed the influence of several parameters that potentially modulate FVIII PK. The age was closely associated with FVIII half-life （R^2 = 0.32, P 〈 0.01 ）. The t1/2 of FVIII increased by 0.59 h per year. Besides age, yon Willebrand factor antigen （VWF：Ag） also was associated with FVIII half-life （R^2 = 0.52, P 〈 0.01）. Patients with blood Group O had a shorter FVIII halt-life than patients with non-O blood group （9.40 ± 0.68 h vs. 12.3 ± 0.79 h, t = 2.70, P = 0.01）. The FVIII IVR correlated with age （R^2 =0.21, P 〈 0.01） and VWF：Ag level （R^2 = 0.28, P 〈 0.01 ）. CL rates were taster in young patients and in those with low-VWF：Ag levels. CL rates of FVIII are higher in blood Group O versus non-blood Group O persons （5.02 ± 0.38 vs. 4.00 ± 0.32 ml·kg^-1·h^-1 , t = 2.53, P = 0.02）. Conclusions： Chinese boys with severe HA have similar PK values to other ethnic groups and large differences in FVIII PK between individual patients. Age, blood group, and VWF：Ag levels are important determining factors for FVlll CL.

Urban forests play an important role in the thermal comfort and overall life of local populations in large-and medium-sized *** study analyzes urban forest loss and maps land use and land cover(LULC)changes between 1991 and 2018 by evaluating the use of urban planning instruments for the mitigation of urban forest loss in Jo?o Pessoa,*** this purpose,satellite-derived LULC images from 1991,2006,2010 and 2018 and data on urban forest loss areas obtained using the Google Earth Engine were *** addition,this paper also discusses the instruments used for integrated urban planning,which are(a)the legal sector,responsibility and nature;(b)the urban expansion process;and(c)the elements of urban *** results show a clear shift in land use in the study *** major changes in LULC classes occurred in urban areas and herbaceous vegetation,while the greatest loss was in arboreal/shrub ***,an increase in the pressure to occupy zones intended for environmental preservation could be *** results showed similar accuracies with other studies and more spatial *** characteristics of the patterns,traces,and hotspots of urban expansion and forest cover loss were *** highlighted the potential use of this proposed framework to be applied and validated in other parts of the world to help better understand and quantify various aspects of urban-related problems such as urban forest loss mapping using instruments for integrated urban planning and low-cost approaches.
