Blue Cap Is Effective and Safe for the Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis in Children

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is the most common inflammatory skin disease in children. Treatment of AD is based on skin barrier repair and reduction of inflammation. We analyzed the efficacy and safety of activated piroctone olamine (APO)—Blue Cap—in children with AD. Materials and Methods: An open-label interventional clinical study was carried out at three clinical centers in Serbia. A total of 58 patients with AD, aged between 3 and 18 years were included and treated with Blue Cap Foam (100 ml;CATALYSIS S.L. Madrid)—Activated Piroctone Olamine—applied twice a day in the affected areas with eczema for 30 days and final assessment at 45 days from baseline. Photographic documentation, clinical evaluation, therapy effectiveness and safety questionnaires were assessed at baseline, 15, 30 and 45 days. Results: Our results demonstrated a significant reduction in signs (erythema, scaling, infiltration, excoriations, xerosis) and symptoms (pruritus) at weeks 2 and 4 of the study. At the end of the study, most patients had moderate (28.6%) to great (62.5%) disappearance of manifestations and moderate (25%) to great (71.4%) skin quality improvement. The effect and tolerability of the therapy were evaluated as very good in 66.1 % and 67.9% and good in about 14.3% and 17.9%, assessed by the investigator and patient, respectively. Three patients experienced a burning sensation at the beginning of the study, the side-effects were resolved as the patients continued applying the foam. After two weeks of cessation of the investigated foam, a significant percentage of patients experienced worsening in the final assessment done by the investigator as well as the participant. In the final assessment, a significantly high percentage (57.1%) of patients had a total reduction of manifestation, and a significant number of participants considered the applied product as treatment success, assessed by the investigator (62.5%) as well as the participants (66.4%). 对于研究生而言,撰写论文摘要是一项具有挑战性的任务。这是因为论文摘要不仅需要将整个研究内容精炼地概括成几句话,还必须融入相关的背景知识,以便向学术界清晰地传达研究成果。本研究旨在深入探究工科研究生在面对首次发表论文的摘要写作时的应对策略。为达到这一目的,研究者基于一个丰富的学习者语料库,该语料库共计收录了1,746篇摘要,总词数达到117,535个。值得注意的是,这些摘要均由母语为非英语的学生在攻读硕士学位期间,分别使用英语和塞尔维亚语撰写而成。本研究以Hyland的分类法为依据,着重探讨交互式框架标记、交互式参与标记以及元杂名词的应用与影响。经过对塞尔维亚语和英语子语料库中绝对频率、相对频率、统计显著性以及对数可能性的详尽对比分析,可得出结论:学生在塞尔维亚语写作中运用框架标记的频度,显著高于在相同语境下英语写作时的频度。至于参与标记,研究生的摘要显示出非常频繁地使用指令;在两个子语料库中,指令的使用率是框架标记的两倍,而在英语子语料库中,指令的使用率高于塞尔维亚语子语料库。经过严格的定性和定量分析,研究结果和比较揭示了学生在阐述研究目的时所采用的一系列框架标记和元话语名词,以及他们在吸引读者参与研究并进而增强研究可信度时所使用的参与标记所具有的教学意义。

Influences of synthesis methods and modifier addition on the properties of Ni-based catalysts supported on reticulated ceramic foams

A method of synthesizing Ni-based catalysts supported on α-Al2O3-based foams was developed. The foams were impregnated with aqueous solutions of metal chlorides under an air atmosphere using an aerosol route. Separate procedures involved calcination to form oxides and drying to obtain chlorides on the foam surface. The synthesized samples were subsequently reduced with hydrogen. With respect to the Ni/Al2O3 catalysts, the chloride reduction route enabled the formation ofa Ni coating without agglomerates or cracks. Further research included catalyst modification by the addition of Pd, Cu, and Fe. The influences of the additives on the degree of reduction and on the low-temperature reduction effectiveness （533 and 633 K） were examined and compared for the catalysts obtained from oxides and chlorides. Greater degrees of reduction were achieved with chlorides, whereas Pd was the most effective modifier among those investigated. The reduction process was nearly complete at 533 K in the sample that contained 0.1wt% Pd. A lower reduction temperature was utilized, and the calcination step was avoided, which may enhance the economical and technological aspects of the developed catalyst production method.

An Application of the Shark Skin Denticle Geometry for Windbreak Fence Design and Fabrication

Windbreak fences in open and urban areas can be used to effectively reduce the wind velocity. In this paper we examine how the geometrical shape of the windbreak fence can optimally mitigate wind velocity. We propose an approach for windbreak fence design based on a bionic parametric model of the shark skin denticle geometry, which improves the reduction of the wind velocity around and behind the windbreak fences. The generative model was used to estimate improvements by variations in the parameters of the fence panel＇s geometrical shape, inspired by shark skin denticles. The results of the Computational Fluid Dynamics （CFD） analysis indicates that the fence surface inspired by shark skin performs much better than both flat and cor- rugated surfaces. Taking into account the complex geometry of the surface inspired by shark skin denticles, we propose a fab- rication process using an expanded polystyrene foam （EPS） material, created using an industrial robot arm with a hot-wire tool. Creating EPS moulds for the shark skin denticle panels allows for a richer variety material to be used in the final design, leading both to higher efficiency and a more attractive design.

In this paper, using the context of complete partial metric spaces, some common fixed point results of maps that satisfy the generalized （ψ, Ф）-weak contractive conditions are obtained. Our results generalize, extend, unify, enrich and complement many existing results in the literature. Example are given showing the validaty of our results.

Initial nucleation of amorphous Si–B–C–N ceramics derived from polymer-precursors

Nucleation behavior of amorphous Si–B–C–N ceramics derived from boron-modified polyvinylsilazane procusors was systematically investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM) combined with spatially-resolved electron energy-loss spectroscopy(EELS) analysis. The ceramics were pyrolyzed at1000℃ followed by further annealing in N2, and SiC nano-crystallites start to emerge at 1200℃ and dominate at 1500℃. Observed by high-angle annular dark-field imaging, bright and dark clusters were revealed as universal nano-structured features in ceramic matrices before and after nucleation, and the growth of cluster size saturated before reaching 5 nm at 1400℃. EELS analysis demonstrated the gradual development of bonding structures successively into SiC, graphetic BNCxand Si3N4 phases, as well as a constant presence of unexpected oxygen in the matrices. Furthermore, EELS profiling revealed the bright SiC clusters and less bright Si3N4-like clusters at 1200–1400℃. Since the amorphous matrix has already phase separated into SiCN and carbon clusters, another phase separation of SiCN into SiC and Si3N4-like clusters might occur by annealing to accompany their nucleation and growth, albeit one crystallized and another remained in amorphous structure. Hinderance of the cluster growth and further crystallization was owing to the formation of BNCxlayers that developed between SiC and Si3N4-like clusters as well as from the excessive oxygen to form the stable SiO2.
