Caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid modulate Nrf2 and inhibit Ehrlich ascites carcinomas in mice

Objective:To assess the nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor-2(Nrf2)modulatory effect of caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid and determine the anti-tumor activity of these phenolic compounds against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma growth in ***:Antioxidant activity of protocatechuic acid and caffeic acid was assessed using ferric reducing antioxidant power(FrAP)and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH).Nrf2 activation potential of phenolic compounds was tested by quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction,and luciferase complementation reporter *** vivo efficacy was tested using the Ehrlich ascites carcinoma ***:FrAP and DPPH radical scavenging assays showed that caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid were more potent compared with cinnamic acid and benzoic *** complementation reporter assays identified caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid as the activators of *** caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid upregulated the expression of Nrf2 target genes heme oxygenase-1(HO-1),glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit(GCLC),and glutamate-cysteine ligase modifier subunit(GCLM)and the activity of NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1(NQO1)when tested on HCT-116 cells using a cell-based assay system at 9 *** addition,intraperitoneal administration of caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid to Ehrlich ascites carcinoma bearing mice suppressed tumor growth and ***:Caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid can modulate Nrf2 and inhibit Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells.

Deep Learning-Based Classification of rotten Fruits and Identification of Shelf Life

The freshness of fruits is considered to be one of the essential characteristics for consumers in determining their quality,flavor and nutritional *** primary need for identifying rotten fruits is to ensure that only fresh and high-quality fruits are sold to *** impact of rotten fruits can foster harmful bacteria,molds and other microorganisms that can cause food poisoning and other illnesses to the *** overall purpose of the study is to classify rotten fruits,which can affect the taste,texture,and appearance of other fresh fruits,thereby reducing their shelf *** agriculture and food industries are increasingly adopting computer vision technology to detect rotten fruits and forecast their shelf ***,this research work mainly focuses on the Convolutional Neural Network’s(CNN)deep learning model,which helps in the classification of rotten *** proposed methodology involves real-time analysis of a dataset of various types of fruits,including apples,bananas,oranges,papayas and ***,machine learningmodels such as GaussianNaïve Bayes(GNB)and random forest are used to predict the fruit’s shelf *** results obtained from the various pre-trained models for rotten fruit detection are analysed based on an accuracy score to determine the best *** comparison to other pre-trained models,the visual geometry group16(VGG16)obtained a higher accuracy score of 95%.Likewise,the random forest model delivers a better accuracy score of 88% when compared with GNB in forecasting the fruit’s shelf *** developing an accurate classification model,only fresh and safe fruits reach consumers,reducing the risks associated with contaminated ***,the proposed approach will have a significant impact on the food industry for efficient fruit distribution and also benefit customers to purchase fresh fruits.

Spores are the biological structures formed out of sporulation from vegetative cells in adverse *** tolerant to many extreme environment and conditions,they escape and survives critical processing steps in the food industry that poses food and health safety problems,as is evident from the increase in reports of food-bome outbreaks due to *** radiation(EM)is used for rapid decontamination and sterilization purposes in the food *** studies have reported a greater reduction in spore population upon irradiation with EM rays due to its impact on genomic material and other components of spores that destabilises overall structue and brings clonogenic death However,there is scattered literature regarding the mechanism of its inactivation and resistance against such *** review attempts to concisely evaluate the potential of electromagnetic radiations in spore inactivation and details its mechanism through a collective study of scientific results and *** also briefs about the process of sporulation,the structure of spores and the role of its components in the resistance of spores to *** studies,which demonstrated that combining various EM treatments might be an effective way for inactivation of spores,were discussed in detail.

reversed-Phase-HPLC Assay Method for Simultaneous Estimation of Sorbitol, Sodium Lactate, and Sodium Chlorides in Pharmaceutical Formulations and Drug Solution for Infusion

A rapid, straightforward, sensitive, efficient, and cost-effective reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method was employed for the simultaneous determination of Sorbitol, Sodium Lactate, and Chlorides in a drug solution for infusion. Sorbitol, Sodium lactate, and Chloride are all officially recognized in the USP monograph. Assay methods are provided through various techniques, with titrations being ineffective for trace-level quantification. Alternatively, IC, AAS, and ICP-MS, though highly accurate, are costly and often unavailable to most testing facilities. When considering methods, it’s important to prioritize both quality control requirements and user-friendly techniques. A simple HPLC simultaneous method was developed for the quantification of Chlorides, Sorbitol, and Sodium Lactate with a shorter run time. The separation utilized a Shimpack SCr-102(H) ion exclusion analytical column (7.9 mm × 300 mm, 7 μm), with a flow rate of 0.6 mL per min. The column compartment temperature was maintained at 40°C, and the injection volume was set at 10 μL, with detection at 200 nm. All measurements were conducted in a 0.1% solution of phosphoric acid. The analytical curves demonstrated linearity (r > 0.9999) in the concentration range of 0.79 to 3.8 mg per mL for Sodium Lactate (SL), 0.16 to 0.79 mg per mL for Sodium Chloride (SC), and 1.5 to 7.2 mg per mL for Sorbitol. Validation of the developed method followed the guidelines of the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH Q2B) and USP. The method exhibited precision, robustness, accuracy, and selectivity. In accelerated stability testing over 6 months, no significant variations were observed in organoleptic analysis and pH. Consequently, the developed method is deemed suitable for routine quality control analyses, enabling the simultaneous determination of Sodium Lactate, Sodium Chloride, and Sorbitol in pharmaceutical formulations and infusions.

Performance analysis of jig for coal cleaning using 3D response surface methodology

Beneficiation of coal of -4.76 mm + 3 mm size fraction was investigated in a laboratory model Denver *** variables were studied to analyze their effect on the performance of jig in terms of yield and ash content of clean coal. Three-factor three-level Box-Behnken design of experiments with response surface methodology(rSM) was employed to understand the performance behavior of jig. From the study, the bed height was found to be the most significant parameter affecting the yield and ash content of clean coal. It was possible to reduce the ash content from 24.32% in feed to an ash content of 16.55% in clean coal at 2 L/min water flow rate and 10 min jigging time. Influence of operating variables of the jig on responses was presented and discussed in 3D surface plots. The developed model was found to be significant within the range of parameters under investigation with correlation of co-efficient values as 0.99(yield) and 0.98(ash).

Blockchain: Secured Solution for Signature Transfer in Distributed Intrusion Detection System

Exchange of data in networks necessitates provision of security and *** networks compromised by intruders are those where the exchange of data is at high *** main objective of this paper is to present a solution for secure exchange of attack signatures between the nodes of a distributed *** activities are monitored and detected by the Intrusion Detection System(IDS)that operates with nodes connected to a distributed *** IDS operates in two phases,where the first phase consists of detection of anomaly attacks using an ensemble of classifiers such as random forest,Convolutional neural network,and XGBoost along with genetic algorithm to improve the performance of *** novel attacks detected in this phase are converted into signatures and exchanged further through the network using the blockchain framework in the second *** phase uses the cryptosystem as part of the blockchain to store data and secure it at a higher *** blockchain is implemented using the Hyperledger Fabric v1.0 and v2.0,to create a prototype for secure signature *** exchanges signatures in a much more secured manner using the blockchain architecture when implemented with version 2.0 of Hyperl-edger *** performance of the proposed blockchain system is evaluated on UNSW NB15 *** performance has been evaluated in terms of execution time,average latency,throughput and transaction processing *** evidence of the proposed IDS system demonstrates improved performance with accuracy,detection rate and false alarm rate(FAr)as key parameters *** and detection rate increase by 2%and 3%respectively whereas FAr reduces by 1.7%.

Artificial neural network approach to assess selective flocculation on hematite and kaolinite

Because of the current depletion of high grade reserves, beneficiation of low grade ore, tailings produced and tailings stored in tailing ponds is needed to fulfill the market demand. Selective flocculation is one alternative process that could be used for the beneficiation of ultra-fine material. This process has not been extensively used commercially because of its complex dependency on process parameters. In this paper, a selective flocculation process, using synthetic mixtures of hematite and kaolinite in different ratios, was attempted, and the ad-sorption mechanism was investigated by Fourier transform infrared （FTIr） spectroscopy. A three-layer artificial neural network （ANN） model （4？4？3） was used to predict the separation performance of the process in terms of grade, Fe recovery, and separation efficiency. The model values were in good agreement with experimental values.

Laminar Forced Convection from a rotating Horizontal Cylinder in Cross Flow

The influence of non-dimensional rotational velocity, flow reynolds number and Prandtl number of the fluid on laminar forced convection from a rotating horizontal cylinder subject to constant heat flux boundary condition is numerically investigated. The numerical simulations have been conducted using commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics package CFX available in ANSYS Workbench 14. results are presented for the non-dimensional rotational velocity α ranging from 0 to 4, flow reynolds number from 25 to 40 and Prandtl number of the fluid from 0.7 to 5.4. The rotational effects results in reduction in heat transfer compared to heat transfer from stationary heated cylinder due to thickening of boundary layer as consequence of the rotation of the cylinder. Heat transfer rate increases with increase in Prandtl number of the fluid.

Performance evaluation for selectivity of the flocculant on hematite in selective flocculation

Increased demand for iron ore necessitates the utilization of low-grade iron ore fines, slimes, and existing tailings. Selective flocculation can be an alternative physico-chemical process for utilizing these low-grade fines, slimes, and tailings. In selective fiocculation, the most critical objective is the selection of proper reagents that will make fioc of desired minerals. In present study, selective flocculation was applied to ultra-fine synthetic mixtures of hematite and kaolinite, and the Fe value was upgraded up to 65.78% with the reduction of Al2O3 and SiO2 values to 2.65% and 3.6670, respectively. Here, degraded wheat starch was used as a *** this process, separation occurs on the basis of the selectivity of the flocculant. The selectivity of the fiocculant can be quantified in terms of separation efficiency. Here, an attempt was also made to develop a correlation between separation efficiency and major operating parameters such as flocculent dose, pH value, and solid concentration to predict the separation performance.

Coal washing scenario in India and future prospects

Coal Washing Exploration in India dates back to 1900s; though, first coking coal washeries in India were installed after independence. At present, most of the coking coal washeries are owned by Public Sector Companies; whereas, most of the non-coking coal washeries are owned by Private Sector. Even after six decades of coal washing practices, there has not been significant development in the coal washing intelligentsia. Indian Coal Washing industry is still dependent on imported equipment, which has been designed to treat coal that is significantly different from Indian coal of drift origin. In this paper, authors have ventured into evolution of Indian Coal Washing Industry （with a focus on coking coal washing sector）, its present condition and future prospect for growth. The paper emphasizes need for developing indigenous solutions to industrial challenges and highlights importance of increased coordination among academia-research institutions and coal industry.
