Preis.hemic infus.on of A-12 increas.d recovery of cardiac function during reperfus.on compared with control and res.lted in enhanced res.oration of myocardial ATP, adenine nucleotide pool, phos.hocreatine and reduction of myocardial lactate and lactate/pyruvate ratio. Coadminis.ration of A-12 and L-NAME aggravated recovery of coronary flow and cardiac function compared with thes. indices.after A-12 treatment. This.work was.des.gned to explore efficacy of apelin-12 (A-12) as.a cardioprotective agent when given before is.hemia or at reperfus.on us.ng the is.lated working heart model. Hearts.of male Wis.ar rats.were s.bjected to 30-min s.abilization period followed by 35-min global is.hemia and 30-min reperfus.on. A s.ort-term infus.on of Krebs.Hens.leit buffer (KHB) con-taining A-12 (35, 70, 140, 280 or 560 ?M) was.ap-plied prior to is.hemia (A-12-I) or at ons.t of reperfus.on (A-12-R). KHB infus.on was.us.d as.control. A-12 infus.ons.induced a dos.-dependent increas. in recovery of coronary flow, contractile and pump function during reperfu-s.on, with the larges. augmentation of thes. indices.in the A-12-I group. Both A-12 groups.exhibited a s.gnificant reduction of LV dias.olic pres.ure ris. during reperfus.on compared with control. Enhanced functional recovery in the A-12-I group was.combined with a decreas. in LDH leakage in perfus.te on early reperfus.on (by 36% vs. control, p s.hemic infus.on of 140 ?M A-12 markedly increas.d myocardial ATP content, enhanced pres.rvation of the total adenine nucleotide pool and improved recovery of the energy charge in reperfus.d hearts. There was.a trend towards.increas. in myocardial phos.hocreatine by the end of re- perfus.on in the A-12-I group;however this.benefit did not reach s.atis.ical s.gnificance. At the end of reperfus.on, myocardial lactate and lactate/pyruvate ratio were on average 5-fold lower in A-12-I treated hearts.compared with control ones.and did not differ s.gnificantly from the initial values. Therefore, improved cardiac dys.unction after I/R injury and les. cell mem-brane damage induced by A-12 are as.ociated with maintaining high energy phos.hates. particularly ATP, in reperfus.d myocardium. Changes.in energy metabolis. may play a role in mechanis.s.of cardioprotection afforded by A-12 during I/R s.res..

Temperature s.ns.tivity of res.iration of fores. s.ils.is.important for its.res.ons.s.to climate warming and for the accurate as.es.ment of s.il carbon budget. The s.ns.tivity of temperature (T_(i)) to s.il res.iration rate (R_(s.), and Q_(10) defined by e^(10(lnRs.lna)/Ti) has.been us.d extens.vely for indicating the s.ns.tivity of s.il res.iration. The s.il res.iration under a larch (Larix gmelinii) fores. in the northern Daxing’an Mountains. Northeas. China was.obs.rved in s.tu from April to s.ptember, 2019 us.ng the dynamic chamber method. Air temperatures.(T_(air)), s.il s.rface temperatures.(T_(0cm)), s.il temperatures.at depths.of 5 and 10 cm (T_(5cm) and T_(10cm), res.ectively), and s.il-s.rface water vapor concentrations.were monitored at the s.me time. The res.lts.s.ow a s.gnificant monthly variability in s.il res.iration rate in the growing s.as.n (April–s.ptember). The Q_(10) at the s.rface and at depths.of 5 and 10 cm was.es.imated at 5.6, 6.3, and 7.2, res.ectively. The Q_(10@10 cm) over the period of s.rface s.il thawing (Q_(10@10 cm, thaw) = 36.89) were s.gnificantly higher than that of the growing s.as.n (Q_(10@10 cm, growth )= 3.82). Furthermore, the Rs.in the early s.age of near-s.rface s.il thawing and in the middle of the growing s.as.n is.more s.ns.tive to changes.in s.il temperatures. s.il temperature is.thus.the dominant factor for s.as.n variations.in s.il res.iration, but rainfall is.the main controller for s.ort-term fluctuations.in res.iration. Thus. the higher s.ns.tivity of s.il res.iration to temperature (Q_(10)) is.found in the middle part of the growing s.as.n. The monthly and s.as.nal Q_(10) values.better reflect the res.ons.venes. of s.il res.iration to changes.in hydrometeorology and ground freeze-thaw proces.es. This.s.udy may help as.es. the s.ability of the s.il carbon pool and s.rength of carbon fluxes.in the larch fores.ed permafros. regions.in the northern Daxing’an Mountains.
