In this study we have reported the design and development of a facile,sensitive,selective,and label-free electrochemical sensing platform for the detection of atrazine based on MWCNT-embedded ZnO *** nanofibers were characterized using scanning electron microscope(SEM),transmission electron microscope(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscope(XPS),Uv-visible spectroscope(Uv-vIS),and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscope(FTIR).Electrochemical properties of MWCNT-ZnO nanofiber-modified electrodes were assessed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and cyclic voltammetry(Cv).Binding event of atrazine to anti-atrazine antibody,which immobilized on nanofiber-modified electrode via EDC and NHS chemistry,was transduced with *** to high conductivity,surface area,and low bandgap of MWCNT-ZnO nanofibers,we have achieved the sensitivity and limit of detection(LoD)of sensor as 21.61(KΩμg^(−1) mL^(−1))cm^(−2) and 5.368zM for a wide detection range of 10 zM–1µ*** proposed immunosensing platform has good stability,selectivity,repeatability,and reproducibility,and are less prone to interference.

In the present work, attempts have been made to extend the use of the tribological and chemical properties of rutile-TiO2 to metallic alloy systems, by forming a rutile coating on the metallic substrates. Two metallic alloys were selected in this study, including AISI316L austenitic stainless steel and aluminium alloy. The rutile-based coatings were fabricated by magnetron sputter deposition of a pure titanium coating first, and then thermal oxidation of the coated specimens to partially convert the titanium coating to rutile oxide and to promote interfacial reactions which can significantly enhance the coating-substrate adhesion strength. The structures and properties of the coating-substrate systems were characterized by a variety of analytical and experimental techniques, including X-ray diffraction, glow discharge spectrometry, high resolution SEM, nanoindentation, microscratch, friction and wear testing, as well as electrochemical testing. The results show that the friction and wear properties, as well as the corrosion resistance of the metallic alloys can be significant enhanced by surface engineering with rutile-TiO2.

Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR)is the process of mapping an acoustic speech signal into a human readable text *** systems exploit the Acoustic Component of ASR using the Gaussian Mixture Model-Hidden Markov Model(GMM-HMM)*** NeuralNetwork(DNN)opens up new possibilities to overcome the shortcomings of conventional statistical *** studies modeled the acoustic component of ASR system using DNN in the so called hybrid DNN-HMM *** the context of activation functions used to model the non-linearity in DNN,Rectified Linear Units(ReLU)and maxout units are mostly used in ASR *** paper concentrates on the acoustic component of a hybrid DNN-HMM system by proposing an efficient activation function for the DNN *** by previous works,euclidean norm activation function is proposed to model the non-linearity of the DNN *** non-linearity is shown to belong to the family of Piecewise Linear(PWL)functions having distinct *** functions can capture deep hierarchical features of the *** relevance of the proposal is examined in depth both theoretically and *** performance of the developed ASR system is evaluated in terms of Phone Error Rate(PER)using TIMIT *** results achieve a relative increase in performance by using the proposed function over conventional activation functions.

Magnesium(Mg)-based materials are a new generation of alloys with the exclusive ability to be biodegradable within the human/animal *** addition to biodegradability,their inherent biocompatibility and similar-to-bone density make Mg-based alloys good candidates for fabricating surgical bioimplants for use in orthopedic and traumatology *** this end,nowadays additive manufacturing(AM)along with three-dimensional(3D)printing represents a promising manufacturing technique as it allows for the integration of bioimplant design and manufacturing processes specific to given ***,this technique also faces many new challenges associated with the properties of Mg-based alloys,including high chemical reactivity,potential for combustion,and low vaporization *** this review article,various AM processes to fabricate biomedical implants from Mg-based alloys,along with their metallic microstructure,mechanical properties,biodegradability,biocompatibility,and antibacterial properties,as well as various post-AM treatments were critically ***,the challenges and issues involved in AM processes from the perspectives of bioimplant design,properties,and applications were identified;the possibilities and potential scope of the Mg-based scaffolds/implants are discussed and highlighted.

Image processing techniques have become highly essential to improve the data usefulness of the raw images obtained for infrared non-destructive evaluation(NDE).The identification of defective regions from a thermogram has been a common problem in the field of *** segmentation is one of the promising approaches to identify defective regions from *** the present work,segmentation approach based on clustering is *** this image patterns are organized into clusters or groups considering the relationship among *** method involves finding the centroids of the regions and formation of clusters around each *** is applied to improve accuracy in formation of *** thresholding method is adapted to retrieve the shape of defect and to improve the possible diagnosis capabilities of system for NDE *** proposed method is investigated with frequency modulated thermal wave imaging(FMTWI)over glass fiber reinforced polymers(GFRP).The GFRP sample consists of square shaped Teflon inserts of different dimensions placed at various depths.A comparative study of the proposed novel segmentation scheme and existing segmentation methods is conducted.

A systematic study on the influence of Nd^(3+) substitution on structural,magnetic and electrical properties of cobalt ferrite nanopowders obtained by sol–gel auto-combustion routewas *** formation of spinel phasewas confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD)data,and percolation limit ofNd3?into the spinel lattice was also *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)bands observed ≈580 and ≈390 cm^(-1 ) support the presence of Fe^(3+) at A andBsites in the spinel *** variation in microstructure was investigated by scanning electronmicroscopy(SEM),and the average grain size varies from 5.3 to 3.3 *** substitution of Nd^(3+) significantly affects the formation of pores and grain size of cobalt ***-temperature saturation magnetization and coercivity decrease from 60 to 30 mA·m^(2)·g^(-1) and 19.9–17.8 mT,respectively,with Nd^(3+) substitution *** decreases in magnetic properties are explained based on the presence of non-magnetic nature of Nd^(3+) concentration and the dilution of super-exchange interaction in the spinel *** room-temperature direct-current electrical resistivity increases with Nd^(3+) concentration increasing,which is due to the unavailability of Fe^(2+) at octahedral B sites.

Lanthanum doped nickel-cobalt nano ferrites with chemical formula Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.5)LaxFe_(2-x)O_(4)(x=0.05,0,10,0.15 and 0,20) were prepared using a simple sol-gel auto combustion *** basic structural properties were determined by X-ray diffraction method and the formation of single phased spinel ferrite was *** crystalline size decreased from 25 to 11 nm and lattice parameter a increases with increase of La *** surface morphology of these ferrites was observed by field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) and agglomerated irregular grains are observed with increase of the rare earth element La ***-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX) result confirms the presence of the required *** Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) spectrum indicates the formation of the spinel ferrite structure with M-O *** direct band measurements from ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy(Uv-vis) spectroscopy indicate that the direct band gap decreases from 1.39 to 1.19 ev for x=0.05 to x=0.15,then increases to 1.28 ev for x=*** room temperature magnetic properties of these ferrites were studied by a vibrating sample magnetometer(vSM).The enhanced saturation magnetization of 49.73 emu/g is observed for x=0.10 and then saturation magnetizations are gradually decreased for x=0.15 and x=*** the remanent magnetization and coercivity also follow the same trend.

The ridge waveguide is useful in various microwave applications because it can be operated at a lower frequency and has lower impedance and a wider mode separation than a simple rectangular waveguide. An accurate model is essential for the analysis and design of ridge waveguide that can be obtained using electromag- netic simulations. However, the electromagnetic simula- tion is expensive for its high computational cost. Therefore, artificial neural networks （ANNs） become very useful especially when several model evaluations are required during design and optimization. Recently, ANNs have been used for solving a wide variety of radio frequency （RF） and microwave computer-aided design （CAD） problems. Analysis and design of a double ridge waveguide has been presented in this paper using ANN forward and inverse models. For the analysis, a simple ANN forward model is used where the inputs are geometrical parameters and the outputs are electrical parameters. For the design of RF and microwave components, an inverse model is used where the inputs are electrical parameters and the outputs are geometrical parameters. This paper also presents a comparison of the direct inverse model and the proposed inverse model.
