Wrought and laser powder bed fusion （LPBF） Ti-6Al-4v specimens were comparatively evaluated， with the objective to determine LPBF Ti-6-4’s suitability for biomedical applications. Testing included nanoindentation， cyclic polarization in simulated body fluid （sBF， 37 ℃ ）， and dry and sBF “Ball-on-Plate” sliding. Wrought Ti-6-4 exhibited a lamellar （α+β） microstructure， whereas LPBF displayed a fine-grained α'-martensite microstructure. LPBF Ti-6-4 demonstrated ～3% higher indentation modulus and ～32% higher hardness， while wrought Ti-6-4 showed ～8% higher plasticity. Both alloys exhibited low corrosion rates (10–5mA/cm2order) and true passivity (10–4mA/cm2order). No localized corrosion was observed in either alloy， except for occasional metastable pitting in the LPBF alloy. However， LPBF Ti-6-4 presented higher corrosion rate and passive current， ascribed to its martensitic structure. During dry sliding， LPBF Ti-6-4 exhibited ～14% lower volume loss compared to wrought Ti-6-4. sliding in sBF increased volume losses for both alloys， with wear resistances nearly equalized， as the advantage of LPBF Ti-6-4 decreased due to more intensive wear-accelerated corrosion induced by the stressed martensite. Overall， the results demonstrate the suitability of LPBF Ti-6Al-4v for biomedical uses.

In the pursuit of advancing molecular sensing through surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(sERs),the combination of plasmonic nanoparticles and metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)has emerged as a highly effective approach to enhance the sensitivity and selectivity of sERs ***,most prior investigations have predominantly focused on MOF-coated plasmonic nanoparticles in core@shell or layer-by-layer configurations,leaving a notable knowledge gap in exploring alternative *** we present a facile method to construct a particle-on-mirror architecture by selectively coating a MOF,zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8),onto the tips of Au nanostars and subsequently depositing the resultant nanoparticles onto a Au *** design integrates the electric field enhancement at the sharp tips and nanogaps,along with the molecular enrichment function within the porous MOF immobilized at the tips and nanogaps,leading to a substantial boost in the sERs signal *** a unique sERs platform enables consistent and outstanding sERs performance for analytes of different *** work opens up a promising strategy for constructing multifunctional nanostructures for sensitive sERs detection in real-life scenarios.

In this article,in-situ scanning electron microscope characterization of the tensile properties of TiB/Ti-2Al-6sn titanium matrix composite(TMC)was conducted before and after electroshocking treatment(EsT).After EsT,the tensile strength increased by 113.2 *** effect of EsT on the tensile strength and fracture behavior of TiB was investigated using in-situ characterization of the fracture morphology and crack propagation path of the matrix and *** EsT,TiB fracture introduced cracks that extended into the matrix,resulting in material *** EsT,the refined TiB improved the bearing capacity of the matrix,thereby improving TMC ***,after EsT,the cracks were introduced into the matrix,and resulting the fracture of matrix *** an increase in the external load,cracks in the matrix were observed to propagate to TiB,and the refined TiB was fractured,detached,and pulled out,resulting in the formation of *** the propagation path of the main crack after EsT showed that the deflection angle of the main crack *** micro structure of the fracture surface indicated that the fracture of the matrix was plastic,whereas that of TiB was *** EsT,the size and area of the dimples increased,confirming the increase in *** results revealed that the comprehensive mechanical properties of TiB/Ti-2Al-6sn improved after ***,EsT is an efficient method for tailoring the micro structures and mechanical properties of TMCs.

An inorganicDorganic hybrid crystalline material(siMo_(12)O_(40))[Cu(2,2'-bipy)_(2)]_(2)·2H_(2)O(Complex 1,2,2'-bipy=2,2'-bipyridine)was synthesized for the first time by using 2,2'-bipy and transition metal copper to convert Waugh-type polyoxometalate[MnMo_(9)O_(3)_(2)]_(6-)into a Keggin polyoxometalate structure[siMo_(12)O_(40)]^(4-)under hydrothermal conditions in glass *** crystal tests and a series of characterizations were carried out on Complex *** structure of Complex 1 is composed of[siMo_(12)O_(40)]^(4-)and[Cu^(Ⅱ)(2,2'-bipy)_(2)]^(2+).The five-coordinated Cu is connected to two 2,2'-bipy through CuDN bonds,forming an approximately square ***,Complex 1 exhibited good photocatalytic performance for methylene blue degradation and electrocatalytic nitrite reduction properties simultaneously.

The commercial viability of thermoelectric(TE)devices relies heavily on two factors:cost reduction and efficiency *** this study,we first produce p-type Cu_(12)sb_(4)s_(16-x)(x=0,3,4)using a low-temperature bottom-up approach and demonstrate Cu_(12)sb_(4)s_(13)to show the best TE performance among the three tested ***,the TE energy conversion efficiency of Cu_(12)sb_(4)s_(13)is further enhanced by optimizing its electronic band structure through the incorporation of small amounts of *** an optimal Te content of 5 mol%,more than a twofold increase in the TE figure of merit(zT)is *** gain insight into the mechanism of improvement on the transport properties of the mate-rial,we compare the interphase transport mechanism by incorporating nanodomains of different metals(Ag and Cu)into the Cu_(12)sb_(4)s_(13)*** improved electrical conductivity obtained with Cu_(12)sb_(4)s_(13)-Te nanocomposites is attributed to a charge flooding of the Cu_(12)sb_(4)s_(13)*** contrast,excessive down-ward band-bending at the interphases of Ag/Cu metal-semiconductor drastically reduces the electrical ***,a weighted mobility(μw)analysis shows a dominant thermal activation of carri-ers in Cu_(12)sb_(4)s_(13)-Te *** this material,a strong decrease in lattice thermal conductivity is also found,which is associated with a phonon-carrier scattering *** work shows the impor-tance of proper band-engineering in TE nanocomposites to decouple electrical and thermal transport to enhance TE performance,and the efficacy ofμw for electrical and thermal transport analysis.

An active learning workflow for predicting hydrogen atom adsorption energies on binary oxides based on local electronic transfer features

Machine learning combined with density functional theory（DFT） enables rapid exploration of catalyst descriptors space such as adsorption energy, facilitating rapid and effective catalyst screening. However, there is still a lack of models for predicting adsorption energies on oxides,due to the complexity of elemental species and the ambiguous coordination environment. This work proposes an active learning workflow（Le NN） founded on local electronic transfer features（e） and the principle of coordinate rotation invariance. By accurately characterizing the electron transfer to adsorption site atoms and their surrounding geometric structures, Le NN mitigates abrupt feature changes due to different element types and clarifies coordination environments. As a result, it enables the prediction of *H adsorption energy on binary oxide surfaces with a mean absolute error（MAE） below 0.18 e v. Moreover, we incorporate local coverage（θl） and leverage neutral network ensemble to establish an active learning workflow, attaining a prediction MAE below 0.2 e v for 5419 multi-*H adsorption structures. These findings validate the universality and capability of the proposed features in predicting *H adsorption energy on binary oxide surfaces.
