High-yield synthesis and liquid-exfoliation of two- dimensional belt-like hafnium disulphide

Producing environmentally stable monolayers and few-layers of hafnium disulphide （HfS2） with a high yield to reveal its unlocked electronic and optoelectronic applications is still a challenge. HfS2 is a layered two-dimensional material of group-Iv transition metal dichalcogenides. For the first time, we demonstrate a simple and cost-effective method to grow layered belt-like nanocrystals of HfS2 with a notably large interlayer spacing followed by their chemical exfoliation. various microscopic and spectroscopic techniques confirm that these as-grown crystals exfoliate into single or multiple layers in a few minutes using solvent assisted ultrasonification method in N-cyclohexyl-2- pyrrolidone. The exfoliated nanosheets of HfS2 exhibit an indirect bandgap of 1.3 ev with high stability against surface degradation. Furthermore, we demonstrate that these nanosheets hold potential for electronic applications by fabricating a field-effect transistor based on few-layered HfS2, exhibiting a field-effect mobility of 0.95 cm2/（v.s） with a high on/off current modulation ratio of 10,000 in ambient conditions. The method is scalable and has a potential significance for both academic and industrial purposes.

We demonstrate that a scotogenic dark symmetry can be obtained as a residual subgroup of the global U(1)B−L symmetry already present in the Standard *** addition,we propose a general framework in which the U(1)B−L symmetry is spontaneously broken into an even Z2n subgroup,setting the general conditions for neutrinos to be Majorana and for dark matter stability to exist in terms of the residual *** an example,under this general framework,we build a class of simple models where,in a scotogenic manner,the dark matter candidate is the lightest particle running inside the mass loop of a *** global U(1)B−L symmetry in our framework,being anomaly free,can also be gauged in a straightforward manner leading to a richer phenomenology.

We discuss a recent analysis by Yu et al.[RAA 11,125（2011）] about constraints on the smoothness parameter α and dark energy models using observational H（z） *** is argued here that their procedure is conceptually inconsistent with the basic assumptions underlying the adopted Dyer-Roeder *** order to properly quantify the influence of the H（z） data on the smoothness parameter α,a χ2-test involving a sample of type Ia supernovae and H（z） data in the context of a flat ΛcDM model is *** result is confronted with an earlier approach discussed by Santos et al.（2008） without H（z） *** the（Ωm,α） plane,it is found that such parameters are now restricted to be in the intervals 0.66 ≤ α ≤ 1.0 and 0.27 ≤ Ωm ≤ 0.37 within the 95.4 confidence level（2σ）,and,therefore,are fully compatible with the homogeneous *** basic conclusion is that a joint analysis involving H（z） data can indirectly improve our knowledge about the influence of the ***,this happens only because the H（z） data provide tighter constraints on the matter density parameter Ωm.

Objective Toxic metal ions have been implicated in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO). Metallothionines (MT) and plant flavonoids have been reported in the intervention against oxidative damage. We investigated the effect of zinc induced MT and green tea polyphenol (GTP) in reducing the oxidative responses induced by nickel and platinum. Methods Zinc (10 mg/kg b. wt, sc) was administered to rats twice at a gap of 24hrs and GTP (10 mg/100 mL in drinking water) was fed ad libitum for 8 days. Nickel chloride (150 umol/***, ip) and cisplatin (50 mmol/kg ***, sc) was administered to rats 24 h after Zn or GTP pre-treatment. Animals of all the groups were sacrificed 16 hrs after treatment and biochemical markers for toxicity were monitored. Results Zinc or GTP pre-treatment caused significant protection against nickel or cisplatin enhanced mortality in rats, and reduction in lipid peroxidation and NO. conclusion It is proposed that inhibition of ROS and NO by GTP and zinc may prove useful as a selective pharmacological agent in the amelioration of metal toxicity.

Analysis on critical Success Factors for Agile Manufacturing Evaluation in Original Equipment Manufacturing Industry-An AHP Approach

Manufacturing industries are facing challenges in the implementation of agile manufacturing in their products and processes. Agility is widely accepted as a new competitive concept in the manufacturing sector in fulfilling varying customer demand. Thus, evaluation of agile manufacturing in industries has become a necessity. The success of an organisation depends on its ability to manage finding the critical success factors and give them special and continued attention in order to bring about high performance. This paper proposes a set of critical success factors （cSFs） for evaluating agile manufacturing considered appropriate for the manufacturing sector. The analytical hierarchy process （AHP） method is applied for prioritizing the success factors, by summarizing the opinions of experts. It is believed that the proposed cSFs enable and assist manufacturing industries to achieve a higher performance in agile manufacturing so as to increase competitiveness.

Enhanced saturation magnetization in La^(3+) doped Nico ferrites prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion method

Lanthanum doped nickel-cobalt nano ferrites with chemical formula Ni_(0.5)co_(0.5)LaxFe_(2-x)O_(4)(x=0.05,0,10,0.15 and 0,20) were prepared using a simple sol-gel auto combustion *** basic structural properties were determined by X-ray diffraction method and the formation of single phased spinel ferrite was *** crystalline size decreased from 25 to 11 nm and lattice parameter a increases with increase of La *** surface morphology of these ferrites was observed by field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) and agglomerated irregular grains are observed with increase of the rare earth element La ***-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX) result confirms the presence of the required *** Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) spectrum indicates the formation of the spinel ferrite structure with M-O *** direct band measurements from ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy(Uv-vis) spectroscopy indicate that the direct band gap decreases from 1.39 to 1.19 ev for x=0.05 to x=0.15,then increases to 1.28 ev for x=*** room temperature magnetic properties of these ferrites were studied by a vibrating sample magnetometer(vSM).The enhanced saturation magnetization of 49.73 emu/g is observed for x=0.10 and then saturation magnetizations are gradually decreased for x=0.15 and x=*** the remanent magnetization and coercivity also follow the same trend.

Synthesis and electroluminescence properties of tris-[5-choloro-8-hydroxyquinoline]aluminum Al(5-clq)_3

A new electroluminescent material tris- [5-choloro-8-hydroxyquinoline] aluminum has been synthesized and characterized. Solution of this material AI（5-clq）3 in toluene showed absorption maxima at 385 nm which was attributed to the moderate energy （π-π＊） transitions of the aromatic rings. The photoluminescence spectrum of AI（5-clq）3 in toluene solution showed a peak at 522 nm. This material shows thermal stability up to 400 ℃. The structure of the dev.c. is ITO/0.4 wt%F4-TcNQ doped α-NPD （35 nm） / AI（5-clq）3 （30 nm） / BcP （6 nm）/ Alq3 （30 nm） / LiF （1 nm） / A1 （150 nm）. This dev.c. exhibited a luminescence peak at 585 nm （cIE coordinates, x = 0.39, y = 0.50）. The maximum luminescence of the dev.c. was 920 cd/m2 at 25 v. The maximum current efficiency of OLED was 0.27 cd/A at 20 v and maximum power efficiency was 0.04 lm/W at 18 v.

Polarized light-by-light scattering at the cLIc induced by axion-like particles

In this study,light-by-light(LBL)scattering with initial polarized compton backscattered photons at the cLIc,induced by axion-like particles(ALPs),is *** total cross sections are calculated assuming cP-even coupling of the pseudoscalar ALP to *** 95%*** region for the ALP mass ma and its coupling constant f is *** results are compared with cLIc bounds previously obtained for the unpolar-ized *** is shown that the bounds onf for the polarized beams in the region m_(a)=1000-2000 Gev with colli-sion energy of 3000 Gev and integrated luminosity of 4000 fb^(-1)are on average 1.5 times stronger than the bounds for the unpolarized ***,our cLIc bounds are stronger than those for all current exclusion regions for m_(a)>80 *** particular,they are more restrictive than the limits that follow from the ALP-mediated LBL scatter-ing at the LHc.

Effect of micro-environmental factors on natural regeneration of Sal (Shorea robusta)

factors viz., soil moisture and light in- tensity are important factors that affect natural regeneration in forests. These factors vary spatially depending on the overhead canopy density of the forest. The present study focused on studying the effect of variation of soil moisture and light intensity on natural regeneration of sal species （Shorea robusta） under different micro-environments due to overhead canopy of varying forest density. Experimental plots of 40m× 40m size were laid under different overhead canopy densities in a small sal forested watershed in the foot hills of Himalayas in Nainital District of Uttarakhand State, India. The plots were monitored on a long term basis for soil moisture at multi depths, light intensity and natural regeneration of sal. The results of the study revealed that the natural regeneration was highest under c1 （up to-0.30） canopy followed by c2 （0.30-0.50）, and c3 （0.50-0.70） canopies. The c3 canopy showed the dying back of sal shoots over 4 years of study. The highest R2 value of linear regression between incremental score of plot regeneration and average soil moisture content was obtained as 0.156 for average soil moisture content during months at 100 cm depth. The R2 value between incremental score of plot regeneration and annual average light intensity was obtained as 0.688 which indicated that the regeneration is largely dependent on the light intensity conditions during the year. The multiple linear regression analysis between the incremental score of regeneration and the average light intensity and average soil moisture content revealed that that about 80% of variation in regeneration is explained by both the factors.
