Rosemary(Rosmarinus officinalis L.)is an important perennial medicinal and aromatic plant belonging to the Lamiaceae *** is widely produced in Turkey for its oil which can be extracted from the plants when flowers are in *** Turkey,a significant amount of domestic and foreign trade of rosemary is *** 2018-2020,2088 t of rosemary plants were imported,while in the same years 2077 t were *** this study,the performance indexes of a threshing and separating unit designed according to the physicomechanical properties of the rosemary were *** operating parameters of the machine were determined at three different moisture contents and adjusted according to the harvest moisture *** threshing efficiency,work efficiency,power requirement,and specific energy consumption values of the threshing unit were determined,while separating efficiency,work efficiency and specific power consumption of separating unit of the developed system were *** to the study results,the threshing efficiency of the rosemary plant varied between 44.00%and 96.97%.Work efficiency of the thresher varied between 1.18 and 15.34 kg/*** requirements and specific energy consumption of the threshing unit were obtained as 0.19-1.05 kW and 0.02-0.37 kW·h/h,*** the other hand,the separating efficiency of the separating unit for the rosemary plant varied between 44.27%and 85.24%.Maximum and minimum values of work efficiency were found as 0.75 kg/h and 5.52 kg/*** power consumption of the unit ranged from 3.95 to 39.95 kW/kg.

We determined the seismic model of the soil column within a residential project site in Istanbul, Turkey. Specifically, we conducted a refraction seismic survey at 20 locations using a receiver spread with 484.5-Hz vertical geophones at 2-m intervals. We applied nonlinear tomography to first-arrival times to estimate the P-wave velocity-depth profiles and performed Rayleigh-wave inversion to estimate the S-wave velocity-depth profiles down to a depth of 30 m at each of the locations. We then combined the seismic velocities with the geotechnical borehole information regarding the lithology of the soil column and determined the site-specific geotechnical earthquake engineering parameters for the site. Specifically, we computed the maximum soil amplification ratio, maximum surface-bedrock acceleration ratio, depth interval of significant acceleration, maximum soil-rock response ratio, and design spectrum periods TA-TB. We conducted reflection seismic surveys along five line traverses with lengths between 150 and 300 m and delineated landslide failure surfaces within the site. We recorded shot gathers at 2-m intervals along each of the seismic line traverses using a receiver spread with 4 840-Hz vertical geophones at 2-m intervals. We applied nonlinear tomography to first-arrival times to estimate a P-wave velocity-depth model and analyzed the reflected waves to obtain a seismic image of the deep near-surface along each of the line traverses.

AIM: To evaluate baseline foveal disorganisation of retinal inner layers(DRIL) as a prognostic factor in eyes with central retinal artery occlusion(CRAO). METHODS: Twenty-eight CRAO patients who were followed-up between 2010 and 2016 were retrospectively investigated. Demographic characteristics and detailed ophthalmological examination findings of all patients were recorded. Macular thicknesses(MTs) from 5 separate spots and DRIL were measured with spectral-domain optic coherence tomography(SD-OCT). Correlations between DRIL score and logMAR converted visual acuity(VA), change in VA, patient reference time(RT), number of hyperbaric oxygen therapy(HBOT) sessions, MT and MT change were ***: There was a positive correlation between the DRIL score and the final VA(r=0.787) and a negative correlation with the change in VA(r=-0.763). The RT and MT were closely related to the DRIL score. A negative correlation was found between the number of HBOT sessions and the DRIL score(r=-0.341).CONCLUSION: The DRIL score is a parameter assessed by SD-OCT, which can provide us reliable information regarding the prognosis of visual functions and response to the treatment for CRAO patients at acute phase.

This paper examines the contribution of exports to growth in China since the early years of the decade. It is estimated that, despite a high import content ranging between 40 and 50 percent, approximately one-third of Chinese growth before the global crisis was a result of exports, due to their phenomenal growth of some 25 percent per annum. This figure increases to 50percent if spillovers to consumption and investment are allowed for. The main reason for excessive dependence on foreign markets is underconsumption. This is due not so much to a high share of household savings in GDP as to a low share of household income and a high share of profits. It is argued that China can no longer maintain such high growth rates for its exports, and, therefore, needs to turn to consumption-led growth by expanding the share of wages and household income in GDP and accelerating public spending in social infrastructure.

AIM： To report the real-life experience and clinical results of intravitreal ranibizumab injections to neovascular agerelated macular degeneration（nAMD） in a single institution in ***： A total of 101 eyes of 89 patients with nAMD treated with intravitreal ranibizumab injection, followed up for at least 24 mo between 2009 and June 2014, which were evaluated retrospectively. A pro re nata（PRN） treatment protocol was performed after the patients had received three, monthly loading injections. Best corrected visual acuity（BCVA） and central macular thickness measurements were evaluated at baseline and 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 mo. Number of injections and visits were also ***： Of the 89 patients, 34（38.2%） were male and 55（61.8%） were female and the mean age was 74.0±9.5（52-91）y. The mean follow-up period was 24.82±4.4（24-29）mo. Mean number of visits was 8.4±1.12（7-12） in the first year and 6.6±1.33（4-12） in the second year. The mean number of injections was 5.8±1.6（3-10） and 4.2±2.2（0-9） in the first and second year, respectively. The mean BCVA was 59±15.8 letters at baseline by the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study（ETDRS） chart. The mean BCVA at 3, 12, and 24 mo was 70.3±15.9, 67.9±14.3 and 67.3±16.9 letters, respectively. Improvement in visual acuity for each of the visits from baseline was found to be statistically significant（P〈0.01）. Visual acuity in 9 eyes at month 3, 7 eyes at month 12, and 13 eyes at month 24 did not change. The mean central macular thickness（CMT） was 437.99±164.78 μm at baseline. The mean CMT was 348.05±138.47 μm, 349.27±139.79 μm, and 344.13±146.30 μm at months 3, 12, and 24, respectively. AIM:To compare bacterial biofilm colonization in lacrimal stents following external dacryocystorhinostomy(EX-DCR),endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy(EN-DCR),and transcanalicular dacryocystorhinostomy(TC-DCR)with multidiode ***:This prospective study included 30consecutive patients with nasolacrimal duct obstruction who underwent EXT-,EN-,or *** removed lacrimal stent fragments and conjunctival samples were *** lacrimal stent biofilms were examined by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).RESULTS:Eleven(36.7%)of the 30 lacrimal stent cultures were positive for aerobic bacteria(most commonly Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa).However anaerobic bacteria and fungi were not identified in the lacrimal stent ***-seven(90%)patients had biofilmpositive lacrimal *** conjunctival culture positivity after the DCR,biofilm positivity on stents,the grade of biofilm colonization,and the presence of mucus and coccoid and rod-shaped organisms did not significantly differ between any of the groups(P>0.05).However,a significant difference was found when the SEM results were compared to the results of the lacrimal stent and conjunctival cultures(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:Type of dacryocystorhinostomy(DCR)surgery did not affect the biofilm colonization of the lacrimal *** also appears to be more precise than microbiological culture for evaluating the presence of biofilms on lacrimal stents.

Examining the effect of adverse geological conditions on jamming of a single shielded TBM in Uluabat tunnel using numerical modeling

Severe shield jamming events have been reported during excavation of Uluabat tunnel through adverse geological conditions, which resulted in several stoppages at advancing a single shielded tunnel boring machine(TBM). To study the jamming mechanism, three-dimensional(3D) simulation of the machine and surrounding ground was implemented using the finite difference code FLAC3D. Numerical analyses were performed for three sections along the tunnel with a higher risk for entrapment due to the combination of overburden and geological conditions. The computational results including longitudinal displacement contours and ground pressure profiles around the shield allow a better understanding of ground behavior within the excavation. Furthermore, they allow realistically assessing the impact of adverse geological conditions on shield jamming. The calculated thrust forces, which are required to move the machine forward, are in good agreement with field observations and measurements. It also proves that the numerical analysis can effectively be used for evaluating the effect of adverse geological environment on TBM entrapments and can be applied to prediction of loads on the shield and preestimating of the required thrust force during excavation through adverse ground conditions.

This is a very rare toxic event, and there is insufficient data to describe prevention strategies. Increased awareness and reporting of cases will help to better explain the association between targeted therapy and the radiation recall phenomenon.
