Observational data such as those obtained from the magnetosheath in the downstream of earth＇s bow shock have waveforms that differ from those of sinusoidal signals. In practice, they are not even aggregates of sinusoidal signals. Therefore, the frequency decomposition for the data requires technique that will account for the time-varying featu.es of the data that will lead to deduction of physical meaning of the observations. The combination of empirical mode decompo- sition （eMD） and Hilbert transform has been u.ed for extracting the various contributing oscillatory modes （eMDs） and the instantaneous frequency determination （Hilbert transform） of every physically meaningful mode called intrinsic mode func- tion （IMF）. The resulting instantaneous frequencies are u.ed to determine instantaneous wave vectors. The combination of the instantaneous frequencies and wave vectors is u.eful in the identification of wave modes based on the characteristics of the waves. The results show that eMD-Hilbert can be more reliable than simple Hilbert transform alone.

Based on the LaSalle invariance principle, we propose a simple adaptive-feedback for controlling the unified chaotic system. We show explicitly with nu.erical proofs that our method can easily achieve the control of chaos in the unified chaotic system using only a single variable feedback. The present controller, to our knowledge, is the simplest control scheme for controlling a unified chaotic system.

It is our purpose in this paper to show that some results obtained in uniformly convex real Banach space with uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm are extendable to more general reflexive and strictly convex real Banach space with uniformly G＆teaux differentiable norm. Demicompactness condition imposed in such results is dispensed with. Furthermore, Applications of our theorems to approximation of common fixed point of countable infinite family of continuous pseudocontractive mappings and approximation of common solution of countable infinite family of generalized mixed equilibrium problems are also discussed. Our theorems improve, generalize, unify and extend several recently announced results.

We present a systematic study to create ultra-shallow junctions in n-type silicon substrates and investigate both pre-and post-annealing processes to create a processing strategy for potential applications in *** wafers were co-implanted with indium and C atoms at energies of 70 keV and 10 keV,respectively.A carefully chosen implantation schedu.e provides an abrupt ultra-shallow junction between 17 and 43 nm with suppressed sheet resistance and appropriate retained sheet carrier concentration at low thermal budget.A defect doping matrix,primarily the behavior and movement of co-implant generated interstitials at different annealing temperatu.es,may be engineered to form sufficiently activated ultra-shallow devices.

Inter-relationship of Various Results in Analysis of （14.0 MeV／u） Pb＋Pb Reaction using Mica and CN-85 Track Detectors

Two detector materials mica and cellulose-nitrate(CN)-85 have been u.ed to study (14.0MeV/u) Pb + Pb reaction. events of different multiplicities were registered in mica and CN-85 detectors using the 2π-geometry technique of solid state nuclear track detection. After removing the target material from the detectors the damaged trails in the detectors were revealed as tracks by proper chemical etching. The irradiated area of each sample was scanned and events of different multiplicities were traced. The binary events were bifurcated into elastic and inelastic events. The elastic binary events and three prong events, observed in the reaction, have been u.ed to search out coefficients Cμν in the presence of both the detectors, for the reaction under study. using these coefficients 3- and 4-prong events have been analysed. From the detailed analysis of the results of (14.0MeV/u) Pb+Pb reaction, obtained from mica and CN-85 track detectors we observed a great resemblance of results obtained from the two detectors. Combining the results of both the detectors, we report some important outcomes.

A co-infection model for human papillomavirus(HPV)and syphilis with cost-effectiveness optimal control analysis is developed and *** full co-infectionmodel is shown to undergo the phenomenon of backward bifurcation when a certain con-dition is *** global asymptotic stability of the disease-free equilibrium of thefull model is shown not to exist when the associated reproduction number is less *** existence of endemic equilibrium of the syphilis-only sub-model is shown toexist and the global asymptotic stability of the disease-free and endemic equilibria of thesyphilis-only sub-model was established,for a special *** analysis is alsocarried out on the parameters of the *** the syphilis associated reproductionnumber,R_(0s),as the response function,it is observed that the five-ranked parametersthat drive the dynamics of the co-infection model are the demographic parameter μ,the efective contact rate for syphilis transmission,β_(s),the progression rate to late stage ofsyphilis σ2,and syphilis treatment rates:τ1 and τ2 for co-infected individuals in com-partments Hi and Hl,***,when the HPV associated reproductionnumber,R0h,is u.ed as the response function,the five most dominant parameters thatdrive the dynamics of the model are the demographic parameter μ,the effective contactrate for HPV transinission,β_(h),the fraction of HPV infected who develop persistent HPV p1,the fraction of individuals vaccinated against incident HPV infection φ and the HPVvaccine eflicacy π*** simulations of the optimal control model showed that theoptimal control strategy which implements syphilis treatment controls for singly infectedindividuals is the most cost-effective of all the control strategies in reducing the burdenof HPV and syphilis co-infections.

The combined properties of low cost,lightweight,and resistance to chemicals and corrosion has increased the u.e of plastic materials for packaging and storage purposes in preference to other ***,there is a continued increase in their proportion in domestic solid wastes worldwide as well as the concern of their impacts on the *** developed and developing countries have put in place and continue to improve their plastic waste disposal,collection,and recycling methods to redu.e these *** Nigeria with a population of about 186 million,there are little or no available data on the u.e of plastic materials in relation to city populations,their disposal,collection,and recycling *** are a few numbers of plastic waste recycling companies in a fewer number of cities and disposal practices for the greater percentage of the plastic wastes that are not captu.ed for recycling possess immediate and futu.e danger for the *** work reviews the consumption of plastics,its waste generation,collection,and treatment in Nigeria and a few selected *** problems associated with inadequate management of the wastes were emphasized and recommendations were proffered to not only highlight research and investment opportunities that are inherent in plastic waste management in Nigeria,but also provide a background for the formulation of sustainable regulatory policies by the government to address the problems.
