AIM: To investigate recruitment, retention, and estimates for effects of formula supplementation with lactobacillus rhamnosus GG(LGG) on inflammatory biomarkers and fecal microbial community in infants with colic. METHODS: A prospective, double-blind, placebocontrolled trial was conducted in otherwise healthy infants with colic. We screened 74 infants and randomized and analyzed results in 20 infants [9 receiving LGG(LGG+) and 11 not receiving LGG(LGG-)]. LGG was incorporated in the formula(Nutramigen~®)(minimum of 3 × 107 CFU/d) in the LGG+ group. Fecal microbiota and inflammatory biomarkers, including fecal calprotectin(FC), plasma cytokines, circulating regulatory T cells(Tregs), and crying + fussing time were analyzed to determine optimal time points and effect sizes for a larger trial. RESULTS: Recruitment in this population was slow, with about 66% of eligible infants willing to enroll; subject retention was better(75%). These rates were influenced by parents' reluctance to volunteer their infant for a clinical trial and by their tendency to change formulas. The maximal difference of crying + fussing time was observed at day 14, comparing the 2 groups, with a mean difference of-91(95%CI:-76, 259) min(P = NS). FC showed no significant difference, but the optimal time to determine a potential effect was at day 90 [with a mean difference of 121(95%CI:-48, 291) μg/g stool], observing a lower level of FC in the LGG+ group. The fecal microbial communities were chaotic, as determined by Shannon's diversity index and not apparently influenced by the probiotic. No significant change was observed in plasma inflammatory cytokines or Tregs, comparing LGG+ to LGG- groups. CONCLUSION: Designing future colic trials involving a probiotic-supplemented formula for infants in the United States will require consideration for difficult enrollment. Antibacterial and Antioxidant Activity of Rhodomyrtus Tomentosa and Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Crude Extracts

The aim of this study was to investigate the extraction method for ***mentosa and *** leaves and the evaluation of antibacterial and antioxidant activities of crude *** results of the study showed that the active ingredients of crude extracts were clearly separated by Thin-layer chromatography and the presence of rhodomyrtone in *** crude extract and cinnamaldehyde in *** crude ex*** crude extract was antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus with 13.1 mm of inhibition zone,but is not effective against Salmonella *** leaf extract did not show antibacterial activity on both *** and *** a dilution of 1/2 of the *** crude extract can completely inhibit *** *** study also indicated the presence of antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids,tannins,phenols and terpenoids in *** and *** crude *** results showed that *** and *** crude extracts should be used as a biotherapy alternative to antibiotic ***,further study would be needed to investigate the antibacterial activity of crude extracts in vivo.

Background:Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that is a risk factor for epidemic *** hyperglycemic conditions,the enzyme aldose reductase catalyzes the formation of sorbitol in the metabolism of glucose via polyols,leading to the development of diabetic ***,inhibitors of this enzyme are therapeutic targets for the prophylaxis and treatment of these ***:In this study,a generalized linear regression model was developed to analyze flavonoids-obtained from a database-that have been tested as inhibitors of aldose *** this sense,the molecular descriptors implemented in DRAGON and MATlaB software were used to determine the correlation between the chemical structure of the inhibitors and their pharmacological *** model was validated according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Standards and subsequently used for the virtual screening of the flavonoids identified in Jatropha gossypiifolia ***:The proposed model showed a good fit for its statistical parameters(R2=0.95).In addition,it showed good predictive power(R2 ext=0.94)and robustness(Q2 LOO=0.92).The experimental chemical space wherein the predictions were reliable(domain of application)was also ***,the model was used to identify 10 flavonoids from Jatropha gossypiifolia *** candidates for natural *** with a low probability of oral absorption were identified,among which the elagic acid biflavonoid showed the greatest promise(pIC50 predicted=9.75).Conclusion:The Jatropha gossypiifolia *** harbors flavonoids with high potential as inhibitors of the aldose reductase enzyme,in which the biflavonoid ellagic acid was shown to be the most promising inhibitor of the aldose reductase enzyme,suggesting its possible use in the treatment of the late complications of diabetes mellitus.

Factors Affecting Community-Based Tourism Development and Environmental Protection: Practical Study in Vietnam

Community-based tourism (CBT) is considered as one of the typical types of tourism towards sustainable development with three important goals such as bringing back economic benefits, protecting natural environment and preserving indigenous cultural values. Therefore, this paper analyzes the factors that affect community ecotourism development associated with environmental protection in emerging economies, including Vietnam, by the method of key and community tourism potential value assessment with 721 sample surveys. In this paper, we have applied to assess the key factors of tourism in Vietnam and other key points to have more comprehensive solutions to promote the development of community-based tourism with environmental protection. The article has used guest-based approach and method of assessing the key success factors. The results of researching factors to develop community tourist (impacting tourist community needs of tourists) by running Logit function have shown the great influence of factors such as: environmental protection (influence factor +3.585780, with a statistical significance of 99%), security and safety (+3.024816—statistical significance 99%) followed by infrastructure conditions & facilities for the community based tourism, the level of information etc… for your community based tourism needs. From the research results, we propose the following policy groups: 1) Developing guidelines for CBT, the first step as a basis for the development of community based tourism laws later;2) Policies related to the implementation of planning, development of key community tourist areas and destinations;3) Policies related to the development of community-based tourism associated with the protection of natural and cultural environments;4) Policies related to tourism management;coordinating monitoring of community tourism resource points;policies related to the local community in community tourism development;5) Policies related to human resource development;promo

作为理解华南构造演化的关键地区,在华南板块南缘的云开地体和越北的Song Chay地体发育了早中生代的向北东逆冲推覆的韧性变形。在云开地体,经历角闪岩相和绿片岩相变质的矿物指示了产状平缓的面理上发育明显的北东—南西向矿物拉伸线理。沿着这些矿物拉伸线理,具有上部指向北东的剪切变形。同位素年代学的定年结果指示了变形事件发生在220 Ma左右。在越南北部,Song Chay地体的岩石和构造特征与云开地体极其相似:平缓的面理,北东—南西向的矿物拉伸线理和上部指向北东的剪切变形是其主要的构造特征,这些构造特征均表现为向北东的逆冲推覆,变形时间从晚三叠世至早侏罗世。这期构造事件的动力学机制被认为同印支板块与华南板块晚古生代—早中生代的构造拼合密切相关。我们认为新发现的Song Chay蛇绿混杂带是华南板块同印支板块的碰撞拼合界线。因此,华南板块南缘云开地体和Song Chay地体被一同卷入同印支板块的碰撞造山体系之中。

Assessing and Forecasting Saline Intrusion in theVietnamese Mekong Delta Under the Impact of Upstreamflow and Sea Level Rise

Saline intrusion is a hot issue and has always been of concern in the VMD(Vietnamese Mekong Delta),especially in the context of many changes of impact factors such as upstream flows and SLR(Sea Levels Rise).vulnerability to changes in the upstream flows and SLR ismust-have reasons for updated and interpreted *** information is used for exploiting of soil and water *** 11 model was successfully applied to assess the saline *** study provided the picture of the saline intrusion in the dry season from January to May in the VMD in the existing situation(2015 and 2016)and the future(2030 and 2050)under the impact of flow at Kratie in various frequencies of 18%,50%and 85%based on the time series of 2001-2016,and SLR according to RCP(Representative Concentration Pathway)4.5 scenario of MONRE(Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment)of Vietnam issued in *** results show that in the year 2015 the ASI(Saline Intrusion Area)in the VMD was relatively low due to moderate tidal level and high Kratie discharge(P=18%).The scenario like the situation in 2016 and in the future ASI increased significantly compared to the 2015 baseline scenario which shows that the VMD is very vulnerable to saline *** on multivariate regression analysis,the study also presented the formulas for the relationship between the ASI of 0.25 g/L,2.5 g/L and 4.0 g/L thresholds and the impact factors such as the average discharge at Kratie and the maximum daily tidal level in East Coast during the dry season from January to *** an adjusted R2 at 0.913-0.974,these formulas are believed to be reliable for predicting ASIs based on the Kratie flow and the East Coast tidal level.

Molybdate doped-polypyrrole (PPy) was electropolymerised on the mild steel surface. The morphology of polymer film was studied with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The chemical structure of polymer was characterized with Raman spectroscopy. The presence of molybdate doped inside polypyrrole was identified by EDX spectra. The thermal analysis (TGA) showed that polypyrrole was stable up to 500 °C. The corrosion protection of the polymer film was investigated by electrochemical methods showing that the polymer film acted as a barrier layer and molybdate as an inhibitor for corrosion protection of metal. Molybdate dopant was the key component of "self-healling" polypyrrole film.

Zoning Marine Disposal for Dredged Material Management:A Case Study in Vietnam

The fast growth of Hai Phong ports in the two last decades requires not only their upgrading facilities but also expanding port area and dredging their shipping channels(existing and new ones)that generate a huge amount of unused dredged *** all existing dumping sites in sea waters and on land get over capacity,looking for new dumping sites in sea waters is an urgent *** study is to zone coastal waters of Hai Phong for suitable dumping sites meeting sustainable coastal ***-criteria overlay analysis on GIS platform was employed with the criteria of natural conditions,environment and socio-economics for zoning coastal waters of Hai *** criteria were detailed into eight subcriteria and then developed to eight GIS weighted thematic sub-layers of bottom depth,litho-hydrodynamics,ecosystems,distribution of benthos,distance to residential areas and tourist sites,distance to aquaculture area,distance to ecosystems and distance to conservation *** results show the highly suitable zone for dredged material dumping in South,South West Hai Phong at depth below 15m to the deeper *** of dredged materials in the zone would minimize impacts on the environment,ecology and socio-economics in surrounding waters and coastal areas.

Background: Hereditary transthyretin(ATTRv) amyloidosis is an autosomal dominant disease linked to transthyretin gene mutations which cause instability of the transthyretin tetramer. After dissociation and misfolding they reassemble as insoluble fibrils(i.e. amyloid). Apart from the common Val30 Met mutation there is a very heterogeneous group of non-Val30 Met mutations. In some cases, the clinical picture is dominated by a rapidly evolving restrictive and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Methods: A case series of four liver recipients with the highly clinically relevant, rare and particularly aggressive Val122 del mutation is presented. Medical and surgical therapeutic options, waiting list policy for ATTRv-amyloidosis, including the need for heart transplantation, and status of heart-liver transplantation are discussed. Results: Three patients needed a staged(1 patient) or simultaneous(2 patients) heart-liver transplant due to rapidly progressing cardiac failure and/or neurologic disability. Domino liver transplantation was impossible in two due to fibrotic hepatic transformation caused by cardiomyopathy. After a follow-up ranging from 3.5 to 9.5 years, cardiac(allograft) function was maintained in all patients, but neuropathy progressed in three patients, one of whom died after 80 months. Conclusions: This is the first report in(liver) transplant literature about the rare Val122 del ATTRv mutation. Due to its aggressiveness, symptomatic patients should be prioritized on the liver and, in cases with cardiomyopathy, heart waiting lists in order to avoid the irreversible neurological and cardiac damage that leads to a rapid lethal outcome.
