The world is facing great challenges regarding the energy crisis and environmental *** of the main challenges is the increasing number of ships with a lot of different types and *** this research,it is essential to analyze the operational energy efficiency of sea-going ships since the previous studies have concentrated on the inland river *** working is carried out by analyzing of the energy efficiency operation for large size ships such as bulk carriers,container ships,*** on the resistance characteristics of different navigation environment factors.A numerical model of main engine energy efficiency operation was considered using the energy efficiency measure of IMO(International Maritime Organization),in particular using the Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator(EEOI)as a monitoring tool in this *** EEOI numerical model was established and simulated through Simulink/Matlab and verified by the collected data from a certain vessel in *** EEOI model was simulated under the different navigation environment conditions including various engine speed,wind speed,wave height,and water *** that,the simulation results of this research will be compared with experimental database of a certain bulk carrier namely M/V NSU JUSTICE 250,000 *** results indicated that it is important to consider the main engine speed appropriately in ship operation in order to save energy onboard and reduce the greenhouse gas emission problem.

The ship energy efficiency management is an important topic in the field of the energy management onboard and the exhaust gases emission *** advanced model plays a vital role to improve the ship energy efficiency management when considering the variable *** establishment of the ship energy efficiency model through energy efficiency operational indicator(EEOI)index has been conducted through Monte Carlo simulation method along with using the operation data of a bulk carrier.A bulk carrier is chosen,namely,M/V NSU JUSTICE 250,000 DWT of VINIC Shipping transportation Company in *** research uses the real operational data to perform a statistical methodology which calculates the various factors used to calculate *** method is supported by Matlab program through the curve fitting *** normal distribution estimation and the kernel density estimation method are used for the parametric curve fitting and non-parametric curve fitting,*** average weather condition(wind speed and wave height)and the fouling condition of hull have been investigated and compared with the research *** validation of the proposed methods has been conducted through the study of the external factors influencing the research *** research result shows the optimal operational data for the fuel consumption at each certain *** paper is useful for the ship-owners and the ship-operators in the field of the ship energy efficiency management.

Urea-assisted natural seawater electrolysis is an emerging technology that is effective for grid-scale carbon-neutral hydrogen mass production yet *** scaling relations is an effective strategy to break through the bottleneck of natural seawater ***,by DFT calculation,we demonstrated that the interface boundaries between Ni_(2)P and MoO_(2) play an essential role in the selfrelaxation of the Ni-O interfacial bond,effectively modulating a coordination number of intermediates to control independently their adsorption-free energy,thus circumventing the adsorption-energy scaling *** this conceptual model,a well-defined 3D F-doped Ni_(2)P-MoO_(2) heterostructure microrod array was rationally designed via an interfacial engineering strategy toward urea-assisted natural seawater *** a result,the F-Ni_(2)P-MoO_(2) exhibits eminently active and durable bifunctional catalysts for both HER and OER in acid,alkaline,and alkaline sea water-based *** in-situ analysis,we found that a thin amorphous layer of NiOOH,which is evolved from the Ni_(2)P during anodic reaction,is real catalytic active sites for the OER and UOR ***,such electrode-assembled urea-assisted natural seawater electrolyzer requires low voltages of 1.29 and 1.75 V to drive 10 and600 mA cm^(-2)and demonstrates superior durability by operating continuously for 100 h at 100 mA cm^(-2),beyond commercial Pt/C||RuO_(2) and most previous reports.

Structural and luminescent properties of (Eu,Tb) PO_4·H_2O nanorods/nanowires prepared by microwave technique

Nanowires/nanorods of europium/terbium orthophosphate monohydrate with Eu^3＋ concentration of 6, 11, and 20 at.% were prepared by microwave synthesis method. The effects of Eu^3＋ doping concentration on structure, morphology and optical properties of nanomaterials were also investigated. The results showed that, for all studied Eu^3＋ doping concentrations, a single-crystalline phase of rhabdophane-type （Eu,Tb）PO4·H2O nanowires/nanorods was obtained by using microwave heating of an aqueous solution of terbium（Ⅲ） nitrate, europium（Ⅲ） nitrate and NH4H2PO4 with pH=2. The length and width of these nanowires/nanorods ranged from 150 to 300 nm and from 10 to 50 nm, respectively. The evidence of energy transfer from Tb^3＋ to Eu^3＋ due to the energy overlap between the donor Tb^3＋ and the acceptor Eu^3＋was observed obviously via a significant enhancement in the luminescent intensity of Eu^3＋. Behavior of noncircular tunnels excavated in stratified rock masses-Case of underground coal mines

The amount of tunnels excavated along stratified/sedimentary rock masses in Quangninh coal mine area,Vietnam, is gradually increasing. Rock mass in Quangninh is characterized by beddings between rock layers. The behavior of stratified rock masses surrounding the tunnels depends on both the intact rock and the beddings between rock layers. The main characteristics of stratified rock masses that need to be considered are their heterogeneity and anisotropy. Depending on the dip angle of rock layers, movements and failure zones developed surrounding the tunnels can be asymmetrical over the vertical axis of tunnel. This asymmetry causes adverse behaviors of the tunnel structures. The objective of this study is to highlight convergences and yielded zones developed in rock masses surrounding noncircular tunnels in Quangninh coal mine area using a finite element method. The presence of bedding joints is explicitly simulated. The numerical results indicated that with the increase in dip angle of bedding joints, the stress asymmetry over the tunnel vertical axis increases. It gradually leads to an asymmetry of the failure zone surrounding the tunnel. An increase of rock mass quality means a decrease of rock mass sensitivity to the discontinuities. In addition,a dip angle of the bedding joints of approximately 45° could be considered as the critical angle at which the rock mass mechanism changes between sliding and bending.

Zirconium metal-organic frameworks ZrOBDC(where BDC=C6H4(COOH)2,terephthalic acid)doped and co-doped with rare earth ions Ln(ZrOBDC:Ln^3+,where Ln^3+=Eu3+and Tb^3+as well as Er^3+and Yb^3+)were used as precursors for the design of tetragonal rare earth doped zirconia nanoparticles(t-ZrO2:Ln^3+NPs)through annealing ***,characterization and luminescence properties of ZrOBDC:Ln^3+and ZrO2:Ln^3+NPs were *** as-obtained t-ZrO2:Ln^3+NPs have high purity with an average size of 20-30 *** luminescence spectra of ZrOBDC:Tb^3+and ZrOBDC:Eu3+display strong green and red emission at around 544 and 611 nm which correspond to 5D4→7F5 and 5D0→7F2 transitions of Tb^3+and Eu3+ions,*** green and red up-conversion emissions of ZrO2:Er^3+,Yb^3+NPs due to 2H11/2,4S3/2→4I15/2 and 4F9/2→4I15/2 transitions of the Er^3+ions are observed under 976 nm laser excitation.

We present a comparative study of the control of group velocity in three-level atomic systems including Λ-, Ladder-, and V-types via spontaneously generated coherence(SGC) and relative phase of laser *** the steady regime, expressions of group index are derived as an analytical function of controllable parameters related to SGC and relative *** is shown that the group velocity can be further slowed down or speeded up under SGC in which modifications of group velocity due to the SGC in Λ-and V-systems are stronger than that in *** particular, when interference strength of SGC p increases from 0.7 to 1.0, the light propagation is switched from superluminal to subluminal modes(for Λ-and Ladder-systems) or from subluminal to superluminal modes(for Vsystem).In the presence of relative phase, the group velocity changes between subluminal and superluminal modes with a period of 2π.In resonant region, the largest positive value of group index reaches at the relative phase φ=π while the largest negative value of group index reaches at φ= 0 and 2π for the Λ-and Ladder-systems, otherwise, for the V-system the largest positive group index occurs at φ= 0 and 2π, and the largest negative group index occurs at φ=π.
