this research aims to analyze the static bending and free vibration behaviors of bidirectional functionally graded porous(BFGP)curved microbeams with elastic boundary conditions resting on a Pasternak’s elastic foundation in a hygro-thermal *** analysis based on non-uniform rational B-splines,first-order shear deformation theory,nonlocal elasticity theory combined with the modified strain gradient theories,modified Timoshenko beam theory are formulated to depict bending and shear deformations of BFGP curved ***,because using the modified Timoshenko beam theory,this study removes the requirement for a shear correction factor and describes shear stress by zero at the upper and lower cross-sectional sites of the BFGP curved *** from traditional boundary conditions,where the beginning and end positions of a curved beam are connected by an elastic system of straight and torsion *** allows for greater flexibility in controlling the stiffness of the springs to obtain arbitrary *** assess the accuracy and convergence of the proposed approach,validation numerical examples were conducted in the various examples.

Understanding the relationship between fish parental age and offspring performance over their life cycle is crucial for *** study investigates the effect of parental age for both 1-and 2-year-old fish on the growth and survival rates of their larval to grow-out stages for two wild and domesticated strains of bighead catfish(Clarias macrocephalus).Fish were sampled from the Vietnamese Mekong Delta where wild adult fish were collected from a conservation area in Ca Mau Province and domesticated fish were taken from a hatchery in Can *** offspring treatments of 1-and 2-year-old broodstock strains were reared for 3 successive periods:40 days for fingerling rearing in static tanks with water exchange,60 days for juveniles,and 90 days for grow-out in recirculating *** final weight of fish at 190 days varied from 96.7 to 144.7 *** growth of offspring was not affected by parental age(P>0.05),over the 3 rearing ***,the domesticated fish strain showed significantly better growth rates than the wild fish strain(P<0.05).Feed conversion ratios were comparable across fish *** rates did not differ at the fingerling(21.8%-36.4%)and juvenile(69.0%-73.3%)***,significant differences were found at the grow-out stage(69.3%-84.0%),with offspring from 2-year-old parents of both strains having greater survival ***,1-and 2-year-old fish appear to be suitable for bighead catfish breeders.

Objective: To examine the in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory effects of the alkaloid enriched extract(ELA) from the roots of Eurycoma longifolia. Methods: The in vitro antiinflammatory effects of ELA were evaluated by examining its inhibitory activities against nitric oxide(NO) production and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iN OS) and cyclooxygenase2(COX-2) expressions in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. The level of NO produced in the culture media was determined by Griess method. The i NOS and COX-2 protein expressions were analyzed by Western blot. The in vivo effect of ELA was evaluated on LPS-induced septic shock in mice model. Mice mortality was monitored for5 days after injection of LPS. The chemical contents of the ELA were determined by using various chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Results: The ELA was found to exhibit a significant anti-inflammatory effect in both in vitro and in vivo models. The results demonstrated that ELA dose-dependently inhibited LPS-induced NO production as well as the protein iN OS and COX-2 expressions. In the septic shock model, ELA dose-dependently protected mice from LPS-induced mortality. Further study on the isolated components of ELA indicated that 9,10-dimethoxycanthin-6-one may contribute significantly to the antiinflammatory effects of the extract. Conclusions: These results suggest that ELA exhibits the anti-inflammatory activity via suppression of pro-inflammatory mediators such as NO, iN OS,and COX-2 and protects mice from LPS-induced mortality in septic shock model.

Objective:To evaluate the antitumor activity both in vitro and in vivo of saponin–phospholipid complex of Panax ***:The in vitro cytotoxic effect of saponins extract and saponin–phospholipid complex against human lung cancer NCI-H460 and breast cancer cell lines BT474 was examined using MTS *** in vivo evaluation of antitumor potential,saponin and saponin–phospholipid complex were administered orally in rats induced mammary carcinogenesis by 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene,for 30 ***:Our data showed that saponin–phospholipid complex had stronger anticancer effect compared to saponin *** IC50 values of saponin–phospholipid complex and saponin extract for NCI-H460 cell lines were 28.47 mg/m L and 47.97 mg/mL,respectively and these values for BT474 cells were 53.18 mg/mL and 86.24 mg/mL,*** vivo experiments,administration of saponin,saponin–phospholipid complex and paclitaxel(positive control) effectively suppressed 7,12-dimethylbenz(a) anthracene-induced breast cancer evidenced by a decrease in tumor volume,the reduction of lipid peroxidation level and increase in the body weight,and elevated the enzymatic antioxidant activities of superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase in rat breast ***:Our study suggests that saponin extract from Panax notoginseng and saponin–phospholipid complex have potential to prevent cancer,especially breast cancer.

The present study investigates authorial stance in research articles of native and non-native academic authors of English. It aims to analyze evaluation adverbs in research articles written by native authors of English(NAEs) and Vietnamese-speaking authors of English(VAEs) between 2012 and 2015. The data of 120 articles was investigated to examine whether there is a significant difference in using stance adverbs between the two groups of authors. It was found that NAEs and VAEs used stance adverbs in a considerably different way. Most of the stance adverb categories were variously overused by NAEs against VAEs. It was also found that English native authors of research articles preferred indirect approaches of expressing their evaluation by an illocutionary way of manner-of-speaking,metalinguistic and expectation markers,while Vietnamese authors favored an epistemic way of modal adverbs.

Objective:To investigate the antitumor effect of maesopsin 4-O-β-glucoside(TAT2) isolated from the leaves of Artocarpus tonkinensis(***) *** ***:The antitumor activity of TAT2 was evaluated in Lewis lung carcinoma(LLC) tumor-bearing ***/c mice had tumors induced by implantation with 2× 10~6 LLC cells into the subcutaneous right posterior ***-bearing mice were treated orally with a range of doses of TAT2 and a standard drug,*** were observed for tumor growth and mortality *** was collected to determine hematological and biochemical *** TAT2 was isolated from an ethanolic extract of *** *** structure was determined by MS and NMR spectroscopy,and identified as *** compound did not show acute toxicity at the highest dose tested(2 OIK) mg/kg body weight).TAT2 exhibited antitumor activity by decreasing tumor growth,increasing the survival rale,and ameliorating some hematological and biochemical parameters at doses of 100 and 200 mg/kg body weight(P<0.05).Conclusions:These results indicate that TAT2 possesses clear antitumor *** to its bioavailability and low toxicity,and the fact that it could be isolated in a large scale from *** leaves,the compound shows promise as a potential anticancer drug.

Response surface methodology was used in this research to optimize the technical parameters of the extraction and conversion color compound in armatto seeds into norbixin. Parameters affected the extraction efficiency and norbixin recovery yield were solvent concentration, rate of solvent/seed, incubation time, and incubation temperature. The optimization results including： concentration of ethanol is 51.82°; concentration of NaOH is 0.52 M; ratio of solvent/seed is 7.1/1; incubation time is 33.12 minutes, incubation temperature is 58.6℃, and the rate of 36% HCl/color solution is 0.5/5 （v/v）.

In this study, a novel layer-by-layer polyaniline/graphene （PANi/Gr） structure for electrochemical detec- tion of atrazine was developed. Gr film was synthesized by thermal chemical vapor deposition （CVD） method and transferred onto the PANi-predeposited microelectrode. The properties of PANi/Gr film were thoroughly investigated by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and Raman techniques. The most attractive feature of this system is a suitable microenvironment, which could provide an amplifi- cation of the conductive signal, thus may contribute to enhancing electron transfer and subsequently improve the sensitivity in electrochemical measurements. With low detection limit （- 43 × 10 -12 g/L）, ac-ceptable stability and good reproducibility, the proposed electrochemical immunosensor could be advantageously extended for multiplexed detection of other agents of environmental pollution.

Shear failure of slender reinforced concrete beams without stirrups has surely been a complicated occurrence that has proven challenging to adequately *** primary purpose of this work is to develop machine learning models capable of reliably predicting the shear strength of non-shear-reinforced slender beams(SB).A database encompassing 1118 experimental findings from the relevant literature was compiled,containing eight distinct *** Boosting(GB)technique was developed and evaluated in combination with three different optimization algorithms,namely Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),Random Annealing Optimization(RA),and Simulated Annealing Optimization(SA).The findings suggested that GB-SA could deliver strong prediction results and effectively generalizes the connection between the input and output *** values and two-dimensional PDP analysis were then carried *** may use the findings in this work to define beam’s geometrical components and material used to achieve the desired shear strength of SB without reinforcement.
