The prolongation structure methodologies of Wahlquist-Estabrook [*** and ***,***.16 (1975) 1] for nonlinear differential equations are applied to a more general set of coupled integrable dispersionless *** on the obtained prolongation structure,a Lie-Algebra valued connection of a closed ideal of exterior differential forms related to the above system is constructed.A Lie-Algebra representation of some hidden structural symmetries of the previous system,its Bcklund transformation using the Riccati form of the linear eigenvalue problem and their general corresponding Lax-representation are *** the wake of the previous results,we extend the above prolongation scheme to higher-dimensional systems from which a new (2 + 1)-dimensional coupled integrable dispersionless system is unveiled along with its inverse scattering formulation,which applications are straightforward in nonlinear optics where additional propagating dimension deserves some attention.

Autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system(CNS) like multiple sclerosis(MS) are characterized by inflammation and demyelinated lesions in white and grey matter regions. While inflammation is present at all stages of MS, it is more pronounced in the relapsing forms of the disease, whereas progressive MS(PMS) shows significant neuroaxonal damage and grey and white matter atrophy. Hence, disease-modifying treatments beneficial in patients with relapsing MS have limited success in PMS. BAf312(siponimod) is a novel sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor modulator shown to delay progression in PMS. Besides reducing inflammation by sequestering lymphocytes in lymphoid tissues, BAf312 crosses the blood-brain barrier and binds its receptors on neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. To evaluate potential direct neuroprotective effects, BAf312 was systemically or locally administered in the CNS of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis mice with distinct grey-and white-matter lesions(focal experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis using an osmotic mini-pump). Ex-vivo flow cytometry revealed that systemic but not local BAf312 administration lowered immune cell infiltration in animals with both grey and white matter lesions. Ex-vivo voltage-sensitive dye imaging of acute brain slices revealed an altered spatio-temporal pattern of activation in the lesioned cortex compared to controls in response to electrical stimulation of incoming white-matter fiber tracts. Here, BAf312 administration showed partial restore of cortical neuronal circuit function. The data suggest that BAf312 exerts a neuroprotective effect after crossing the blood-brain barrier independently of peripheral effects on immune cells. Experiments were carried out in accordance with German and EU animal protection law and approved by local authorities(Landesamt für Natur, Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz Nordrhein-Westfalen;87-51.04.2010.A331) on December 28, 2010.

Health and Development foundation has worked collaboratively with the Government of the Russian federation to develop and implement a model program of retention and continuity of care for opioid dependence and HIV infection. The model utilizes the Narcology Detoxification Service, State AIDS Centers, Non Government Organization (NGO) managed narcology treatment and rehabilitation centers, NGO outreach programs and the community. The model program was developed and implemented as a pilot demonstration project to provide essential health services to injection drug users and retain them in care. The interventions developed and implemented comprised HIV Testing and Counseling, HIV/AIDS Narcology Post-Graduate Curriculum, Peer Support Groups (Buffer groups), Narcological follow-up Phone Monitoring, Women’s Narcological Services and Short Messaging Services for Injection Drug Users. These services and interventions promoted the integration and utilization of HIV/AIDS health services and narcological services to form an evidence-based health service delivery model providing essential services to people who inject drugs and people living with HIV/AIDS in the Russian federation.

Identification of candidate soil microbes responsible for small-scale heterogeneity in strawberry plant vigour

Studies were conducted to identify candidate soil microbes responsible for observed differences in strawberry vigour at a small spatial scale, which was not associated with visual disease symptoms. Samples were obtained from the soils close to the rhizosphere of ‘big＇ and ‘small＇ plants from small plots which exhibited large local heterogeneity in plant vigour. A metabarcoding approach was used to profile bacterial and fungal compositions, using two primer pairs for 16 S ribosomal RNA genes（16S r DNA） and one for the fungal internal transcribed spacer（ITS） region. Of the two 16 S r DNA primer sets, the 341f/805 R resulted in sequences of better quality. A total 28 operational taxonomic units（OTUs） had differential relative abundance between samples from ‘big＇ and ‘small＇ plants. However, plausible biological explanation was only possible for three fungal OTUs. Two were possible phytopathogens： Verticillium spp. and Alternaria alternata although the latter has never been considered as a main pathogen of strawberry in the UK. for samples from ‘small＇ plants, the abundance of these OTUs was much greater than from ‘big＇ plants. The opposite was true for a mycorrhizal OTU. These results suggest that soil microbes related to crop production can be identified using metabarcoding technique. further research is needed to assess whether A. alternata and Verticillium spp. could affect strawberry growth in the field.

Sedimentary organic matter(OM) is a major reservoir of organic carbon in the global carbon cycle. Despite many studies, there still exist many debates on the mechanism of OM accumulation and preservation in marine sediments. We present a new field study of a Lower Cambrian shallow marine shelf sequence in the northern edge of the Yangtze Plate, China. Our results show that palynological OM and biogenic silica(Bio-Si) could be used alongside more conventional redox and paleo-productivity proxies to study the distribution of OM in marine sediments. The qualitative and quantitative study of palynological OM provides more detailed information on the nature of sedimentary organic carbon, which can be helpful in the assessment of primary productivity and OM preservation. In addition, the presence of Bio-Si stimulates the physical preservation of OM. further analysis indicates that an increase in Bio-Si can promote OM preservation. This case-study provides insight into the intertwined factors controlling OM accumulation in the Early Cambrian.

The PTB Josephson Arbitrary Waveform Synthesizer (JAWS) enables the generation of arbitrary waveforms up to voltages of 70 mVRMS (199 mVPP) using two Josephson arrays in series containing 4000 Josephson junctions each. The SNS-like double-stacked junctions are based on NbxSi1-x as barrier material. While the JAWS system is typically operated using a Dewar with liquid helium, the operation in a closed-cycle pulse-tube cryocooler at temperatures around 4.2 K range was here investigated and successfully demonstrated. for this purpose a special designed cryoprobe was used to provide high quality pulses to the Josephson arrays.
